 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/main/

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/action/store/item/Item?ItemName=gotanime1

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

http://www.deepdiscount.com/index.cfm

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

Ended up ordering just in case the art box ran out (doubt it) Worse case I contact CS if a nozomi sale starts between now and march. It's only 30 bucks so not a huge deal either way.
yup, I will be ordering it in a few days when all of the 12+ days are out (or if there is a limited item I actually want I will use it to get free shipping)

I fucking loved watching Yakitatte! Japan! I will probably actually buy this, because I loved it so much.
I'm typically against buying sub only releases unless they are really cheap. In this case yakitate is to great to miss, and while I would enjoy rewatching it dubbed (mostly to see their attempts to translate the puns) I also want to send the message that these older over looked shows can be viable in hopes that some of my favorites that were never licensed (or unfortunately licensed and the main company died shortly after :/) can be saved :(

yup... and the first 20 eps of fairy tail aren't very good... outside of the filler after that it's been good though.

for yakitate japan the compare well... though the last arc is different (shortened reworked ect)

it's actually currently $30 and comes with a box to hold all 3 parts (for a limited time).... which looks sexy
I'm going to wait until it's in the 12+ next year.

They did the same thing with Space Adventure Cobra, and it also came out in March, and they still seem to have tons of those boxes that holds both parts, so I'm counting on Yakitate being the same thing for next year, or at least wishing it to be. ^___^

My reaction to your post

:/

you just spent 2k... what is another $30 for the best bread making competition anime around?

Wave 11 is a go...

My picks if I didn't have them already.

Heaven's Lost Property Movie
Heaven's Lost Property Season 1
Heaven's Lost Property Season 2
Kamisama Kiss DVD/Blu-ray Complete Series
My Bride is a Mermaid DVD Complete Series

I liked Waiting in the Summer, but I think a lot of people hated it. It's the same universe as Onegai Teacher/Twins, although there's some minor continuity issues. But it's also not really part of the Onegai series.

I can second My Bride is a Mermaid. It's a solid series for $12... the start is a little dumb, but overall it's an enjoyable comedy... also part of me wishes I could see who in this thread orders Maid's Secret: Welcome Home DVD (S) LiveAction Adult for $5 :p

The cheap ass in me screams (SAVE THAT $3 ON EACH SET NEXT YEAR AND STILL GET THE BOX DAMNIT!!!!!).
I saw that this morning as well. I was like really... I want that art box but I don't want to piece meal it together just to get it...

haha that would be great. If I ordered it I would have no shame saying so. Alas, I will disappoint because I did not. :)

I knew this would happen. Funimation canceled my bebop limited edition because I didn't have the money for it in my bank account. Dang $4 short... When I heard that people's orders have been shipping,I emailed them to ask if they can hold my order. But I guess no one read it and canceled automatically because of the lack of funds. :( how's Funimations customer service lately? Do they respond quickly?
I had terrible service with their support because no replied to my email in the past.

I find this strange as Funi has yet to charge me for the order they already shipped the other day.

Bebop is shipping already? By God how much time has passed. It seems as if it was just yesterday that we were discussing Bebop coming to BluRay. Was it during the summer? Wow. Looking at my LE Bebop Box Set on DVD makes me feel old even if it was just a few months ago. Time flies when you're having fun watching all this cheap anime! amirite

Yeah they seem to be extremely swamped right now. Last month when I was curiouse about my $25 credit they got back to me fairly quick, this time around I have emailed them and it's now about 10+ days later.

I am also worried about my bebop preoder it says it shipped but tracking just says label created. I preordered it under my old debit card that got compromised last month and emailed Fuji about switching to PayPal an yet to get a response

As for charging I finally got charged on my cyber Monday purchase today an it shipped out last week so safe to say they are taking some time to charge

I really enjoyed the previews Funimation uploaded on Youtube of My Bride is a Mermaid. I was considering blind buying before the sale, these two posts help reassure me it'll be a good purchase. Thanks

How long do the 13 days deals remain active after the 13th day?
"Remember the sale ends on December 28, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. CT!"

The Wanderers:  El Hazard is a great, if slightly older anime from the creator of Tenchi. (I realize now that someone is going to say that's an oxymoron)  It has an interesting plot, a great dub (it was the first dub that I know of to use an honorific), and the opening song is dubbed, and done really well.

I absolutely adore the El Hazard OVA, but the TV series is just... bleh.

So are all of these deals about the same from rightstuf every year? Meaning like they always have a holiday sale and these prices. Just asking because I could only afford so much >_< just getting the ones I really want and some are gifts.

They don't always put the same stuff on sale, but they have this sale every year.

For example, they had Aria S3 this year, and Aria S1 last year.

The Sentai titles get discounted a lot, and Funimation also gets sales throughout the year.

Check for yourself.

It tends to fluctuate from year to year, price wise and selection wise, so just depends on what particular title you are looking at.

One thing to note though, this year, other online retailers who typically have anime sales the previous years, such as DeepDiscount and Amazon have not had their anime sales during the season this year, so it's mainly been Rightstuf and Funimation.

Hopefully that's not the pattern for next year.

I will say that last year's sale was a bit more prolific since they had their own titles on sale like Dirty Pair and Utena.

On a different topic, I know I say this a lot, but MovieStop does it again. Got, among other titles, Night Raid (DVD and Blu-ray), Rin, Devil is a Part-Timer, Fairy Tail Movie, Bastard, and Osamu Tezuka's Phoenix for $95 (after credit for trading in a bunch of crap DVDs).

Got FMA: Brotherhood parts 1-5 from Funimation today. They basically threw in a random piece of brown paper that didn't do squat to stop the sets from bouncing around. Fortunately everything inside was fine. Just surprising to see them use such terrible shipping practices. It's begging for a lot of returns.

I also went ahead and ordered AoT part 1 and 2 from Amazon. Gonna marathon it near Christmas time as I'll be off from work.

Just wish they did do more with the universe like how they keep coming up with more stuff for Tenchi Muyo lately...

My Funi order came in early thankfully. Packaging was iffy but only my Strike Witches box had a crumbled corner. I can live with that.

I think I'll go ahead and order me AoT as well.In the meantime while my funds from paypal are being transferred to my bank and when said funds are available I'm looking at $400 and all that is going towards one big whopping order at rightstuf :) Merry Xmas to me

I got my funimation order.  I only picked up Freezing and Sekirei.  The freezing slipcover was a dvd sized one.  The supports inside it for the blu-ray case were broken.

I wonder if I should pick up the pick up the second season of Sekirei?

3 Things

1) Got refunded for the error at FYE so 11 bucks in addition to the guy who sold me shitty ass copies of Bleach so another 27 bucks. I think i went over it but essentially he claimed they were very good and had slip covers but none of them came with it. Unplayable, etc. No returns allowed. Go figure

2) My Gohastings order or at least part of it came in today. I haven't gone to the mail so idk how much it is. Probably not much otherwise they would have knocked

3) Just sold an old mattress to a neighbor for 70 bucks so guess who's gonna place an order tomorrow? This guy!

Wave 12 is up.
