 Anime Steals and Deals

**It is highly recommended you check the latest posts in this thread as they will often have the most up to date deals. I will attempt to reflect these sales in the OP, but always check the latest posts.**

Rightstuf

Rightstuf runs studio sales every week, sometimes even twice a week. These range from anime, manga, and even artbooks. Prices are decent, and Rightstuf has amazing customer service. I highly recommend them for that alone.

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/main/

You can save an additional 10% off a majority of their items (Including preorders) by buying their Got Anime membership

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/action/store/item/Item?ItemName=gotanime1

Amazon

Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon.

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/movies-tv/2959127011/ref=pd_zg_hrsr_mov_1_3_last   (Blu Ray)

http://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Movies-TV-Anime/zgbs/movies-tv/2959100011/ref=zg_bs_nav_mov_2_2958934011 (DVD)

DVDPlanet / Deep Discount

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

http://www.dvdplanet.com/Pages/Search/Category.aspx?ec=42000

http://www.deepdiscount.com/index.cfm

I highly suggest when you order from them to only order in stock items, and not ones that are backordered. Save yourself the displeasure of having to deal with the headaches. And patience is a must with these sites.

Cheapassgamer

Maybe you will find something here on our own forums! We have a thread dedicated specifically to Anime and Manga for sale from fellow Cags.

Complete series or one of the parts?

I think the complete series has been $24.99 occasionally, but either way it's well worth the price.

Season 2 is never going to happen since it was a huge bomb in Japan, since people could not accept the animation. I personally loved the show and I understand why they went with rotoscoping, you get those little details that traditional animation can't catch.

Wolf Children is going for 14 on Amazon.
yeah the new animation when it worked it was great, but it wasnt perfect....though I did rather enjoy the animation style throughout.

but eh I really hate that Japan is the standard to anime sometimes as its so damn random what gets accepted as good and what doesnt

but yeah like I said season 1 is fairly bad because its largely a set up to a non-existent season 2.

how many shows have even used robo scoping? Flowers of evil. is the first one Ive seen use it.
A lot of shows use it for certain action sequences or super fluid movement. Production I.G. utilizes rotoscoping a lot.

It was also used in most of the early Disney works.

Thinking about buying Hayate S2 just to be done with it. Don't want another "Oops, you missed volume 8, so now your $200 DVDs are worthless" shit again.

I paid about ~$20 a volume for Hayate at the time, since I went on an anime hiatus around then, and it was one of the only ones I thoroughly enjoyed.

Cowboy Bebop complete on Blu-ray is $21.99 on Amazon. Pretty ridiculous price and definitely well-worth it if you haven't upgraded by now.

Speaking of Hayate season 2 i just lost a auction via ebay and the final price of it was $26.Now im kicking myself for not setting my max bid to $30.It was for the blu ray version too.

\o/ just picked up Attack on Titan both parts. That's a decent price (finally) for the full season. Presumably there will be a season 2 coming but who knows.

What's up with those One Piece boxes?  That deal seems amazing.  I have never watched the show.  I'm tempted to get the boxes at that price.

It's a great value, but the animation for the show is generally terrible plus I think there's filler in at least one of those sets. I'd recommend reading the manga instead.

I see Attack on Titan finally dropped down to $38 for both sets. It's Amazon, though, so I'm expecting them to arrive in poor condition, possibly already damaged if I were to pull the trigger.

Disney used live action film reference, but they never traced it. They noticed how awkward it looks when you do.

Pretty sure they did. They didn't directly trace 100% of it, but the initial frame sketches were rotoscoped. They didn't make noses and lips disappear while not changing other characteristics, making everyone look like Voldemort though.

Honestly, One Piece can go on forever.
well if the second half is as long as the first half it should end around episode 1200 or so :p

it's a solid deal, the show is great, but, and this is a huge but. it's a very slow start with odd animation/style. it really takes about 30-40 episodes before it reaches the point of where it feels a lot more like the one piece people love. The point where you realize despite the style this show has a lot of depth and isn't afraid to go into very dark tones. the first 30 episodes are still decent, but it's not until nami's arc that shit gets real.

the animation isn't that bad, especially in the early stuff (current stuff is rather bad lol) and up until the thriller bark arc as long as you skip the filler the anime is actually a great adaption of the manga (thriller bark is where they stopped doing filler and started doing more 1 chapter of manga = 1 ep of anime)

the sets here are all worth owning if you enjoy the show (well not the filler set, but alas you can just throw it out as these are good prices) and while I will agree with read the manga at this point, the anime is better than the manga up until thriller bark for me as it's a lot more fun seeing stuff animated, plus far easier to multitask while watching.

plus the manga would be more expensive to buy to cover the content these sets cover than these sets cost :p

50 bucks each for those one piece DVD sets is a pretty solid deal, the only reason I ever hesistate buying them is the chance they will one day be on blu...

there is a small chance, but really at that point you could likely get your money back from these without that much trouble. we are 400 episodes in though so I wouldn't consider it a high chance.

I reallllllly doubt they'll be on Blu-ray. There's just way too many episodes to upconvert for too little return.
starting back on april 7th 2012 they started reairing one piece in japan with remastered versions of the episodes. I am not 100% sure this is still going on but at least the first 30 or so episodes were done so funimation could try a trail of blu ray release if they wanted to as it was already done for them.

All he has to do is make up new islands. Have it go underground, be in a volcano, or have them sail the Space Sea.
he could continue it like that if he wanted, but at the same time he has a grand plan, and is set for life, so he really will only continue it until he no longer feels that killing himself to make this is worth it lol.

I wish they'd pack Bleach into giant sets like that (and any anime with a few hundred episodes). It's really not economical to buy all these individual sets.

One Piece has to be out on Blu-ray in Japan before Toei would even think of letting FUNImation do it.

As for Bleach boxsets, Viz tends to wait until the show is finished before doing cheaper boxsets. Now that Bleach is done, I expect to see budget boxsets for the show late next year.

Honestly, One Piece can go on forever.
Please, for the love of God, no. Just no.

I'm hoping to see Aldnoah Zero sets go on sale. I would only go for part 1 and 2. No need to get the rest.
I would love to buy both seasons on sale...that anime was amazing. Much love for it. I'm sure someone has the rights that charges $100 per half season though. Yay Japan.

It's an Aniplex title. I bought Set 1 and got a bunch of autographs on it from the dub actors. $30 for six episodes almost reminds me of the good old days though.

meh, where is my spice and wolf lite novel bundle, they have had one for like the last 5 years, now that i am finally planning on buying it I am not gonna see one am I :(
