Amazon tends to offer lower everyday prices on their anime, and often run sales on Funimation items routinely. Keep track on your favorites or check your daily deal's for a possible 5% off of some based off your history on Amazon. 

(Also, I'd also recommend to check out Amazon's top 100 deals in Anime Bluray/DVD as they tend to show what's popular, or what is on sale.)

Known by many for their bad customer service, they often make up for it with their lower prices on a lot of their items. This and they routinely run sales specifically for anime.

Not a deal, but how is it that I only recently found out that two new Case Closed movies were released, with a new English dub?

I bought both basically as soon as I became aware of them, and they're not bad. I'll miss the old voices, but this new version isn't hampered by forced localization.

Sentai has a pretty decent sale on some items only premium edition to not would be our love story for $20
Lots of odds and ends under $20 though so check it out on their website.

WTF, why is Black Lagoon so expensive? I bought that set for $25 way back in 2013. o_O

On a side note, I really should rewatch Tokyo Godfathers. Don't own it but DL'd waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back during college ehe. Good times.

Yeah, lately Amazon's prices have all sucked, including their "deals".

 
Sentai still has good deals if you're patient enough... but yeah. Honestly though, beats paying 30 bucks for a VHS tape with two episodes.

Thanks! I was considering a couple of those as well, but I grabbed some of the premium editions I had been waiting to go back on sale first so I wouldn't miss out. I double dipped on Chihayafuru S1+S2 premiums, already had the standard, but I really enjoyed the series. I forget what price they were at the lowest, but at the current price I didn't mind much.

Log Horizon, unfortunately, like quite a few series I've watched never got endings (D.Grayman for one). It's sad after building all the lore and characters so well, but I guess it's better than rushing to a conclusion that fans would hate. Not anime, but looking at you GoT.

 
Unfortunately the Sentai sale overall isn't as good as previous sales. I have purchased so much from previous sales that I don't have much here that interests me. I'm sad Negima! is out of stock. Some how I forgot to get that in a previous sale but got Negima!?. The only other things that interests me is Pet Girl and My Teen Romantic Comedy Season 1 & 2. Both seem to be decent prices but I feel like they could come down in the future quite a bit.

That's certainly news to me, thanks! I don't think they'll be able to wrap up the series in one more season though. There's too much progress that still needs to made IIRC.

The Sentai sale during Christmas is always better, and includes everything that could be included. It should be just a couple weeks away.

 
Yeah I'm not feeling the sentai sale yet. Some things are higher than they used to be. I wish we had a rightstuf and sentai price tracker.

Patlabor Ultimate Collection is in stock at $42. Seems like a good deal. Last time it went out of stock it was out for a long while.

A lot of my purchase backlog are on funimation titles so I guess I'll have to start camping on the rightstuf sales page.

 
Bad prices? You should've seen the prices from 3 yrs ago. Sentai DVDs were 9.99 each! Past 2 yrs, most of the DVDs have been 4.99. And now they're 2.99. Pretty damn good

Decent/good anime at less than $10 a series is more than fantastic in the era of physical media as a luxury.

I loved Penguindrum myself but could not get into Yurikuma Arashi. It’s a similar kind of strange but it was just a little too out there for me. I’ll probably eventually revisit it, but I only made it through 1 or 2 episodes and it was just a bit too twisted for me at the time.

I don't think this Sentai sale is any worse than past years. There are some great prices to be had for those who are interested. I agree some items saw slight increases in price, but overall, with F/S at $50, this is not a bad sale.

I was hoping for lower prices on more recent releases. May be the later sale will do that.

I also like that Sentai's shipping charges are more reasonable. If you can't/don't get to $50, you can still pick up a few things with less regret over paying S/H charges.

Yea, it's matching Target's sale. I ended up buying Sailor Moon Super S pt 2, Stars Pt 2, and Batman Beyond from Target, because one of them wasn't part of the promo on Amazon.

Edit: Also noticed some items having 20% sale, like Classroom of the Elite, A Sister is All You Need, Gamers, and other Funimation Essentials.

And Gundam 08th MS Team is $30, part of B2G1.

Amazon has a few anime selections up for Black Friday. I ordered the Blu Rays for Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable. The Voltron collection they have on sale is quite good, and one of the best prices for it I've seen. I picked it up earlier in the year.

I bought a copy of the Record of Lodoss War Essentials collection and the packaging says it should include a digital copy to redeem on funimation. But it's like 6 discs inside a small bluray case so there's no space for it. I didn't see any insert slips like they usually do.

So I contacted funi support, saying don't know if I'm missing anything but there's no code slip to redeem the digital copy.

2 weeks later they reply with a copy pasted "make sure you're entering the code correctly, and clear your browser cookies, etc."

Like he didn't even read it, and just to be clear I'm not mad, I know how it be in customer support. Just not sure why it took 2 weeks for them to copy/paste a generic response and that if it was at least a bot, it should have picked up on the subject line and given the canned response much faster.
