Huntington Beach police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a man suspected of robbing a Beach Boulevard GameStop.
Police said the man went to the game store at about 1:45 p.m. on Oct. 13 in the 19000 block of Beach Boulevard and demanded cash, according to a report posted on the department's Facebook page.
The man waited in the store until all the customers left and placed a blue spiral notebook on the counter. The clerk told police there were several lines written on the paper but noticed "$3,000" written in notebook, according to the report.
The man put his hand on his waistband as if to tell the victim he was carrying a gun and said, "I'm sorry to do this, this is a robbery."
Police said the clerk tried to talk the man out of robbing the store and the man replied, "Sorry, I got to do this, I got kids to feed," according to police.
The clerk turned over the money and the man left the store, according to the report.
Police reported the surveillance video does not show a full view of the man's face but they hope the partial view may help in identifying the suspect.
The suspect is described as male, Hispanic, 30-40 years old, 5-feet-7-inches tall, dark hair and eyes, dark complexion, clean-shaven, and wearing a baseball cap, white long-sleeved T-shirt and dark jeans.
Anyone with any information on this robbery can call Detective Jim Allard at 714-536-5962 or Sgt. D. Dierking at 714-536-2947.
