Anybody Been to a Concert Lately?
They were great, sounded just like I thought they would.. I'd love to see them again, amazing drummer too. They were supposed to be here like 2 weeks ago, but they canceled so they could go get boo'd with Tool.
Big Biz's drummer was off the hook. The deaf metal singer/bassist wasn't my thing tho.

I go to concerts quite regularly..

I went to Warped Tour a few weeks ago (saw Yellowcard, New Found Glory, Tiger Army, Amber Pacific, Bad Religion, The Briggs, and Pennywise... ended up with set lists, guitar picks and towels from many of those bands) and a week from Monday I'll be seeing Rush for the 4th time..

The best concert I've ever seen was Whole Wheat Bread and the Bouncing Souls.. I got to get on stage durring a song and sing along with the Bouncing Souls.. that was one of the most amazing moments ever..

other great concerts include

Social Distortion, Tiger Army, and The Explosion
Halfway Decent (my old band) The contingency Plan and Unsung Zeroes (they are one of my favorites)
anytime I've ever seen Flogging Molly
Less Than Jake, Sugarcult, Yellowcard and the Teen Idols (this was way before Yellowcard and Sugarcult were huge..i want to say summer of '02)
Rancid
hmm... Pennywise has always been a good show too.. saw them one time and they had to stop playing because we were literally tearing the place down.. it ruled..

Last concert I went to was Warped. Had a great time too. I saw The Matches (and met them), Circa Survive (met the bassist) K-OS, Pistolita, Chiodos (met the singer)

I also hung out with We Are the Fury for a while (I write reviews and they have me quoted on their myspace, so they thought that was cool) but they played too late so I missed seeing them, which sucks because they put on a great live show.

lol at the people acting like elitist pricks in this thread. OP, congrats on your first concert. MSI was at the second concert I went to, so I can vouch for you when you say they put on a damn good live show. I saw MCR a while ago before they got big and it was a blast. I got to meet all of them and everything. Sure they were drunk but it was still fun.

^ How was Pistolita live?

Good to hear projekt revolution was awesome for ya OP. I'm going to it on August 11 when it hits Tampa.

Last concert I went to was last year for 30 Seconds to Mars...actually it was a small intimate acoustic performance back before they got insanely popular with The Kill.
All that matters is that I was killed by GWAR. Blood and penis juice all over is a great time no matter what anyone says.
Blood and penis juice indeed. This is a pic from the show I went to last year. And next to that is the last show I went to, Cannibal Corpse, The Red Chord, Psyopus, and Job For A Cowboy.
Cannibal Corpse plays a long ass set, dude.

"And this goes out to all the women out there.. fuckED WITH A KNIIIIIFE"
Haha it went by so quick, really awesome show. Corpsegrinder was wearing a Dethklok t-shirt haha. The Red Chord were really awesome too, love their new album.

Only group Ive ever liked enough to attempt going to see at a concert was HIM. I was pleasantly surprised that they were pretty damn good live. I really was contemplating going to see them again with this tour but seeing as they get under 1hr to play chances are the majority of it will be the new stuff and Im not in a mood to hear that live.

I saw HIM at projekt revolution and IMO, they are not my cup of tea. They did a good cover on Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game", but their own songs just put me to sleep. Or maybe I was just tired during their performance and didn't give them a fair chance. Oh well.
I just came back from Projekt Revolution at Marysville, CA. My first concert.
Did LP do any covers of songs or play any Fort Minor songs or any other songs that aren't on the albums? They usually like to do something different on Projekt Rev.

Glad you had a great time, LP always does an awesome job performing live. I've seen them 7 times Live already, my last one being this past May on the Jimmy Kimmel show. I've met them a couple times as well and gotten their authographs, they are all good down to earth people...except the DJ Mr. Han, can be a little bit of an ass.

sadly I didn't stay for the whole LP performance. I had to leave a little early since my journey home was going to be about 3 1/2 hours.

what they did do different here is do some LP songs with a different melody. Like I mentioned in the OP, they did "Pushing me Away" with a slow and dramatic Piano Solo. Really moving. But I'm pretty sure at the end they did some song from Fort Minor.

Yeah they did that when I saw them at Jimmy Kimmel.

I was hoping to go to Projekt Rev. this year but I just couldn't make it. On one of the previous PR shows I went to, they had Jonathan Davis from KoRn come out on stage to the reanimated version of "One Step Closer", they also did a cover to "Wish" from Nine Inch Nails, that was badass, and they also played "It's Going Down" (X-ecutioners) and "Step Up" from their EP.

last show was sounds of the underground in jersey. awesome show. well worth the money and the shit i got for taking off.

next set

Strange Noise - Kotton mouth kings, tech n9ne, hedpe, surburban noise soldiers, blaze.

Personally up until they did the Dark Light album, there wasnt a cd they put out that had a song I didnt like.

I like the cover they do of Blue Oyster Cults Dont Fear The Reaper....and no, they didnt need more cowbell lol.

I have to say it was a fucking blast! Hot as hell but really worth it.

Glad you had fun that bus was actually designed by the company I work for, and we also have a site for the tour as well. There will be a cool contest going up next week where you can win a trip to London to see LP I will post a link in the contests forum when it's ready. Wait until you see the app we are working on, it's going to be cool. It's also going to be at the shows set up in a tent.
If anybody gets a chance to check out the "Rock-n-Roll Triple Play Tour" give it a shot. It's the Counting Crows headlining with Live and Collective Soul opening up for them each night. They are touring smaller minor league ball parks this summer. Tickets are on the expensive side at $49.50 each, but so far every stop ended up with buy 1 ticket get one free a few days before the shows.
Yeah i might go to the Altoona show or Live and Collective Soul are going to be in Hershey,PA along with Three Days Grave, Seether, and Breaking Benjaman. I saw LIVE at a Pirates game the day before the 4th.

Oh my bad the Altoona show was a few days ago. And another bad Hersheys like 3 hours away from me. I could have sworn it was alot closer. Oh well least Blue Man Group is coming. I went to a show last year and it was great.

Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers with As Fast As in Detroit. Makes me wonder if I have enough emo cred to be on this site...

Sounds of the Underground? They disappointed me, the show I went to.. I never thought that would happen. They were amazing as fuck the first time I saw them.

Last show was Rock the Bells on Saturday, July 28.

fucking epic concert. Never thought I'd see Rage in concert after the break-up, so I was pretty floored during their whole set.

"Down Rodeo" live? fucking amazing.

Also, I had a blast at the Paid Dues stage with Felt, Brother Ali and Cage putting on amazing sets. Sage was good, too, as well as Lucky.I.Am.

Went to Warped Tour last week, saw Bad Religion, The Toasters, Mustard Plug, and The Unseen, missed Pennywise. Out of the three Warped Tours I've been to, this was probably my least favorite, mostly because it was at a different venue than the last two. Last year was definitely my favorite out of the three, a lot more bands that I wanted to see.

Also went to a hardcore punk show two weeks ago in DC, with Deep Sleep, Fiya, Government Warning, and fucked Up. The last two were definitely the best of the four.

I took one of the daughters of my girlfriend to see Panic at the Disc last december. UG! This new music is shite. Her youngest wants to see MCR on the PR tour that's here in 2 days. That ain't happening. While LP may have saved it, I hate these big concerts, the couple songs I heard from LP suck, and I live in Phoenix and I'm not going to be outside watching lame bands in 110 degree weather.

I think before that the last thing I saw was the Dresden Dolls. I may have to go see Combichrist in a couple weeks to wash out Panic.

I'm too old to go to these things.

Edit: I saw LP during the Live Earth when it came online. They don't perform well live.

i went to the jaggermesiter tour with stone sour, lacuna coil and shadows fall, had a great time there, then saw dimmu borgir with unearth, devil driver and katalysm, i only went to see dimmu and kataklysm..... this weekend i'll go see lamb of god and behemoth, behemoth is one of my fav bands, and i already have tickets for the marilyn manson/slayer tour and the smashing pumpkins..
The only band I want to see live is The Arcade Fire.
One of the best live shows I've ever been to! I've seen them three times and each time, they blow me away!

I myself and revving up for Lollapalooza this weekend!! Can't wait to see some of those bands (Black Keys, Cold War Kids, TV on the Radio, My Morning Jacket, and definitely MUSE)!

I've seen the Black Keys and TVotR and I can tell you that they put on fucking great shows. Have fun!

that was easily the best concert i've ever been too. i get a little sad that it's over. I wish paid dues was a seperate concert, so i could have seen both full sets. I don't know where you were when rage came out, but if you were in the front section where i was, that was the wildest shit ever.

Nope, I was in the fenced-off area. Perfect for me since I could go a lil' crazy and not get touched by drunken frat boys.

I have been to so many shows, now I really only go see Poison the Well (Never missed them in Minnesota) Glassjaw (Never missed in Minnesota) Killswitch Engage, Unearth and of course Everytime I fuckING Die (They will save rock and roll.)

i might go see the family values one on the 17th, i have never seen korn perform live =( (seen slipknot like 6-8 times and never enjoyed it)

I think the only band I want to see that I never got the chance is Radiohead. Manson is tired (saw him twice already), Pumpkins should have stayed broke-up (saw them in their heyday), System of a down is no more (saw them). There's really nothing left that I missed from who I'm into.

Going to two shows this Sunday, one after the other. By MY mark, I'll be seeing the following:

Witch Hunt x2
World/Inferno Friendship Society x2
False Prophets x2
A.P.P.L.E.
Thought Crime
Planned Collapse
Crack Rock Steady 7
Leftover Crack
The Patriot Act
The Degenrics

Should be a good 10 hours or so.

This year I've seen:

Roger Waters
The Police

I would most certainly pay the $125 for Roger again. The Police.... barely worth the $48 I paid. Barely.

I saw Christina Aguilera in May. Her voice is really powerful, even live. And the show was really awesome. Very 1920's burlesque act.
I'm seeing Rilo Kiley in September. I'm really excited for that one.

I've seen NIN, Weezer, Dave Matthews Band, Evanescence, Chevelle, Finger Eleven, Queens of the Stone Age, Sparta, and The Eagles.

This year so far I've seen:

Rwake (5-6 times I think?)
Method of Destruction
Crowbar
Big Business
Skeletonwitch
Dysrhythmia
Goatwhore
Amon Amarth
Gojira
GWAR
Job For A Cowboy
Psyopus
Black Cobra
Damn Your Eyes

And those are only the ones I think are worth mentioning.. I've seen quite a few more. I'll probably add to this list later, actually.

I went to my first concert ever last Friday, and that was Daft Punk at Berkeley. It was an incredibly, incredibly good show. I've never been to a concert before since I don't like dealing with thousands of other people, but it was definitely worth the outing.

I have a question for folks who go to concerts regularly. Do people always throw glowsticks on the stage? It happened at the show I went to, and I don't understand the appeal of throwing stuff at your favorite musical act.

Last concert was at The Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA (great place to see a show, by the way) -- LeAnn Rimes. She worked it out. July 27.

A month earlier I saw Alison Krauss and Union Station at the Greek Theater in Berkeley.
Someone needs to make a CAG last concert you saw thread, similar to the "SOTM" or "Last Movie You Saw" threads
Dunno if that would work as well, because I'd assume fewer people see fewer shows.
Dunno if that would work as well, because I'd assume fewer people see fewer shows.
Agreed. I go decently often, but that equates to like 1-2 shows a month max.
