Anybody own a Pebble watch?

I got mine a few weeks ago. it's neat enough for what I got it for. Controlling music from the watch and receiving msgs.

Biggest usage for me is leaving my phone on silent and just letting the watch notify me when I have a msg or call.

I bought in on Kickstarter and have had one for about 2 months. It's a nice & new experience. It works well for me because I don't always get to have my phone on me at work, so I can keep it relatively close by and still see if I get a text, call, etc. But like anything it's probably best to know exactly what you'd want to use it for before I'd recommend buying it.

I know that for iOS it supposedly enhances the experience if you jailbreak your phone (you can supposedly send almost all notifications to the watch this way, etc.), but seeing as mine is a work phone that's not really an option for me. Also if you are an iPhone user you may consider waiting as the rumor is that Apple will eventually launch their own iOS watch I guess.

There's actually another one on kickstarter called "Agent" and it does a lot more stuff, but it's also $200 (+$50 more than pebble)

Pebble is a great idea, but opted for something different and I want my CST watches too :)

BestBuy is apparently selling black pebbles starting Sunday July 7th. They are already sold out online, but a bunch of kickstarter backers are pissed because they ordered the black pebble and have not received them.

I am really thinking about getting one.  There is another one that's in color that looks neater.  Can I connect this and a wireless stereo headset to my phone at the same time?  If it's possible then that will be an awesome combo!

battery lasts for about 4-5 days for me before I need to charge it. It's been a great accessory so far.

combines nicely with a bluetooth receiver in the car for switching audio tracks. Also great for messages/calls in especially noisy areas like E3

So my wife got this for my birthday after I have been talking about it for awhile...... I was actually talking about the galaxy gear but kinda took a step back when it gave the 300 price tag and the limitations (only works with the Note 3, 10 hr battery life, closed applications, ect)

This thing is pretty impressive.  Using the Galaxy S4 with the otterbox defender holstered I can barely hear/feel it when I am at work.  So I miss calls/texts but thanks to the Pebble it makes it easier to see what's going on. :)

for 150 it's not bad.  Apps are so so right now.  I am sure more are coming.

Mine broke last month. Been trying to RMA it for almost a month now.

Their tech support is awful so far. First time I contacted them I told them the watch did not turn on. When I emailed them about it, I got some generic response to check/clean the contacts, leave it plugged in for a few hours, and hold some series of buttons down. After I told them it was still unresponsive and it was not likely the cable. THey decided to send me another cable after I knew it was not the problem.

The cable showed up almost 2 weeks later. When I got it, of course, no chance. I emailed them back. After about 3 emails telling them there was no change and the watch is still unresponsive. I was asked to now send them a video of the new cable and unresponsive watch.

Really WTF? I wrote them an email saying how I was dissatified and how awful their support has been so far. They immediately sent me a RMA request. I promptly filled it out, and then it took them a few days to send me the RMA shipping label AFTER I had asked what is happened with my RMA.

Sadly, I have been without a working Pebble for over 1.5 months now and just recently have gotten a RMA shipping label.

Wow, that sounds incredibly shitty. It makes me really happy that I decided against picking one up when I was looking at getting one.

I can't see ever wanting one of these personally. But I can use my phone anytime outside of teaching/meetings at work so I don't have that need. And don't mind missing texts/calls/emails when out and about. Hell, a lot of the time I silence my phone to get way from all that.

hmm................

that's not good.

I do like that with the Light Flow app I can push the status of my phone battery to the pebble.  Really nice when I get the notification that my battery is charged.

Picked one up yesterday, enjoying it so far, it's had some hiccups, but overall pretty solid.  Galaxy Gear looks nice, but having to recharge just about everyday made it not a viable option for me.

Just keep an eye out for the bluetooth disconnecting a lot even if your phone is in range. That's what happened to mine before I had to RMA it.

I really do like the watch, but I think I'm going to end up selling it once I get the replacement. It kills my phone battery life.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for that, I haven't had any issues so far, but obviously that doesn't mean it won't happen. Maybe I should pick up a warranty for it.

What is app/program is everyone using to push watch faces to the watch?  I am having problems finding the correct directory on my phone so that the pebble app can push it to the watch. For some reason the Zooper app thinks that the watch face files I download belong to it..how do I reassign it to something the pebble sees?

It's been a couple days since I had to charge my Galaxy Gear and it's still going strong at 75% but honestly haven't used it very much.
