Anyone actually buy LOTR Online?
Try reinstalling it again, do you have enough HDD space free, have you rebooted?
Yeah already tried doing that before I posted, still didn't help. I have 8 gigs free after install. Their knowledge base tells me that it has something to do with my firewall....but i don't even have my firewall on so thats pointless, even did what they suggested.

I'm glad I didn't drop 50 bones on this.

I just found this article, so maybe this will help: http://turbine.fuzeqna.com/ddo.support/consumer/kbdetail.asp?kbid=808 and this one too http://turbine.fuzeqna.com/lotro.support/consumer/kbdetail.asp?kbid=1020 and here: http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?&postid=516440

BTW are you using vista? And yes you do have a firewall if you have XP it comes with a software firewall.

No I don't have Vista and I already explained that I turned my firewall off in XP. That is why its stupid, the techs/knowledge base tells people to turn firewall off when its already off. I already tried all of those links and still nothing.

Guess I don't know what to tell you, working great for me.

Are you using a router gokou? Maybe the ports need to be opened? I found this in the knowledge base:

You are most likely using a router and the ports required to play LOTRO are blocked. You will need to forward your port through your router to your PC.

The following ports will need to be opened outbound for Lord of the Rings Online:

Port 80 Ports 9000-9010UDP Ports 2900-2910UDP

Port 80 is both UDP and TCP, as it is for standard internet/html/php connections.

Well I just tried what you posted redline and still no go. I'm pretty sure its a router issue as well but I don't know why its not working even after doing what you posted.

What happens if you plug your PC directly into your cable modem?

LOTRO is turning out to be way more popular than I thought it would be back when I was in the beta. I might have to give it another shot soon.

Once I get another 10-day trial I'll be sure and hit up a CAG member, I really think if people would give it a chance they would really enjoy it, I know I do.

I ended up just buying the game this week while it was on sale for $35.00 at Best Buy. I gave my trial to my roommate during the school year, and hopefully he'll be getting into it also. I'm on the Nimrodel server. Where are ya'll at?

I'm on Windolfa, so if you join shoot me a tell name is Makali. I am currently a Level 25 Lore-Master.
Whats the questing like? Do you have to group to be able to finish a questline, or is it possible to solo?

The thing I hate most about WOW is the fact that they put quest items inside instances, and it's hard to get a PUG together without a whole lotta drama therefore I have tons of questlines that remain unfinished.
Up to about lvl 35ish majority are soloable quests (depending on your class). After that, most needs to be grouped. Eventhough they're shown as soloable...getting to the area or even killing X mob(s) aren't.

Well there are quest items (class spec items/ legendary lvl 45) in instances for the end game and unfortunately not all of them are 100% drops or for all who needs..so gotta roll if more than one person needs.

I play on Elendimir...Booga (50 burg) and Fluids (r3 warg). Send me a tell if you see me, I'll help out as much as I can.
