Of course not, I'm not even supporting the game. I don't think it's that great an FPS and Activision has been problematic lately and I'd rather not give them money. EA was the same not too long ago. If they accidentally released a good game I'd buy it used.
Regardless, no game with worth waiting in front of a store at midnight. Not even a console launch, you gotta be nuts to stand outside in this weather at night.

I'll be picking my 360 copy up at Best Buy at midnight, a lot of my friends are going to Lamestop to pick up theirs and likely be talked into reserving at least one game and then told of how much money they will save on the guide if they pick it up with the game.

I'll be picking my 360 copy up at Best Buy at midnight, a lot of my friends are going to Lamestop to pick up theirs and likely be talked into reserving at least one game and then told of how much money they will save on the guide if they pick it up with the game.

I just picked up my copy of MW2 at a game store in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Won't be able to play it until late tonight as I have work in 20 minutes.
Me and my son were told the other day that each Gamestop in my area have about 200-300 pre-orders for the game. And that the midnight launch at each store will be total crazyness and we should get there as early in the evening as possible to line up. But I think it wont get bad till later in the evening since I am in Pittsburgh and the Steelers are on Monday Night Football that night.
I'd like to go.. as supposedly the GameStop near me is the most "state of the art" store on the west coast (they just rebuilt their store from the ground up over the summer), BUT, I have classes the next day and my girlfriend would just be bitching and moaning the whole night (and not in the good way). :lol:

I don't think I have ever wanted to be at any midnight openings for any game since I am such a cheap bastard and will never pay for any game unless it has been marked down more than 50% of the release date price. So in MW2 case, I probably won't be getting it for a long time. Although the first MW dropped fairly fast and I snagged it in a B2G1 free at GS eventually, so lets hope MW2 will drop soon too cause I do want to play it sometime soon.

I haven't seen the PC version online until late this afternoon, and it's the Russian version. I have however seen the 360 version online for about three weeks now.

Mine always has tons of people waiting outside for midnight releases. I don't bother getting there early. I just wait in my car until pretty much everyone has gotten their copy, then I walk in and am able to go right to the counter. Sure as hell beats waiting outside for an hour or two (especially here in Wisconsin where it's not particularly warm this time of year).

This makes a good point to bring up. If they cripple the PC version, we'll vote with our wallets and nobody will buy it. However, how do we know those idiots will get the right message? What if they say the PC version didn't sell so they won't make anymore? Instead of our protest against foolish decisions they break the game so they can further shun the PC market.
I mean it doesn't matter to me since I wasn't interested in the game anyhow. But as a gamer and collector I'm always wary that the devs aren't getting the intended messages. I know many great games that deserve a sequel but they were missed or ignored by most people and therefore disappeared.

The devs aren't going to get the message. Acti/IW are nolonger making COD games for gamers. They are making them to make gobs of money. Cause the parents who do what the kids want them to do go out and spend tons of money on consoles and M rated games they techincally shouldn't be playing. So they market/change the games to be for those people and consoles. Forgetting how Call of Duty/Medal of Honor ect started on the PC and how faithful the PC gamers have been.
But in the end I know it won't matter. Nothing will change back. They will either say oh didn't sell on PC we will scrap PC games completely now, or enough people will either not be informed or still buy the game and they won't care about the people who it really affects.

My friend works at the Gamestop store I pre-ordered my 250 GB Bundle at and she is working the Midnight release so me and the woman will be there to mess with her.
Sad thing is I have to be at work at 6 am but I will be going straight to sleep once I get home with it.
Got a call from GS today saying that they are having people come into the store from 8pm to 11pm so you can get your order info in so I don't know if they are going to let people get the game during that time or make you wait till 12.
