Long story short, I have had my PS3 since launch day and still don't own a game. I just don't like the controller (GT 5 was miserable for me to play because of the smaller controller), but don't want to miss out on all the games, and ran across this Cronus device that lets you use a 360 remote on a PS3. Has anyone ever used this device (or something else that worked well)? Any Other recommendations?

People seem to be happy with these.

I came from an Xbox too. I thought about doing the same thing. But in the end I just got used to the DS controller, and now like it better than the 360. I think I lot of people hate the PS3 controller because it is different than they are used to.

Try holding it closer to your body, so your thumbs are in a more natural position.

Yeah its mostly the smaller size that bugs me with it. Thanks for the link on the other product though.

I have no complaints about the DS3 so I don't really have any recommendations but have you seriously had a PS3 since 2006 and don't own any games for it? I mean, paying 500-600 bucks for something that you're not going to use for its primary purpose seems a bit odd.

If you need arcade sticks, the Hori Real Arcade Pro ones are my faves.

Yeah I bought it to use as a Blu-ray player (about the same price as just a blu-ray at the time), I gamefly'd a couple games GT5, resistence, and really want to get back into it, its just that I feel like the 360's controller is my soul mate.

Ah, I see.

My only beef with the DS3 comes with trying to play racing games for long periods of time. I always map the gas and brakes to the triggers and the non-trigger nature of L2 and R2 makes my fingers slip off sometimes.

They make some little slip-on triggers that I should probably get around to buying someday.

Those trigger extenders are a God send for the standard PS3 controllers. Well worth the $5 I paid for them. Although I think BB has a 2 pack with 2 pairs of them for $6 now. I may have to buy a couple extra sets cuz I've been getting rid of my older DS3's and snapping off the one pair I picked up from GS a long time ago.

As for 360 type controllers, there was one called the dreamGEAR Shadow:

It's decent if you don't have your PS3 anywhere near a wireless phone that's running on the same bandwidth. When I had one it worked well while charging via the USB cable but after pairing it up with the USB dongle and going wireless its' vibration motors went to full speed and nothing else worked right on the controller after that. It just sat there vibrating at full speed till the battery was fully drained.:whistle2:#

There was also the Rocketfish brand controllers from BB, but they clearanced those out to $10 each a long time ago. The L2/R2 triggers were crappy on them and the PS button took a while to get broke in to where it'd work on the first shot.:whistle2:#

I just opened the last one of those I had about a month ago and the R2 button is acting up. I think it may be that the battery is close to kaput, since I've seen the same issues with Dual Shocks when their battery starts to go.

Yep, GT5 is where I decided I couldn't deal with the DS3. I might just take a $60 gamble on this adapter and do a review on it.
