Anyone play Resident Evil 4 on Playstation 3?

CAGiversary!
Is the voices supposed to sound like SHIT? Or is it a backwards compatibility thing? The voices sound a bit off. Or was the game intentionally like this? It's like the voices have been incredibly downsampled and they lack true clarity. It's understandable, but annoying.

Actually, the whole sound sounds weird like it's on a weak radio.I have this problem with all my games and the ones that the characters speak, they all sound like all a rough man's voice.

I only noticed this with Resident Evi 4. I'm using a Olevia 32 inch tv with hdmi cable if that helps anything. Other games like Dark Alliance II, Bully, OTotal Overdose, Samurai Champloo do not have this problem.

I have this problem very bad with the first ratchet and clank game, you can't even understand what the people are saying in it and it is almost painful to the ears. Very dissapointing since i bought the PS3 when i do so i would have the BC chip

I have an Olevia 27" and whenever I load up a PS2 game on my PS3, besides de-syncing my sixaxis, the sound gets all fucked up. You can hear it right away when the "Playstation 2" logo comes on. What I do is change the source from HDMI through my TV's remote control to something else(usually the next in line which is VGA) then I quickly switch back to HDMI and then the sound is fine. This worked for me for a lot of games except one: 007 Everything or Nothing. At first it worked, but as I got deeper into the game and played it more the sound would get more and more corrupted. Anyway, try it out. If the sound comes back, then it's just the PS3s glitchy BC. If the sound doesn't get better, then the game is not 100% compatible with PS3.

That's what I do with all games. Though I see it easier to just turn the set on then off. It's like a Desynch with the HDMI cable since I never had this problem with the Composite cables. And the sound is distinctly to THIS game only.

Well, like I said, if "de-syncing the HDMI" doesn't help, then it's just not 100% compatible with PS3. The only way to be 100% sure is try it on a PS2 and find out what the sound is like. In any case, sound is a common problem with PS2 games on the PS3. Besides for 007: Everything or Nothing, there were problems with Okami, Valkyrie Profile 2, and Final Fantasy XII. These last three were fixed with an update, I think, but maybe Resident Evil 4 wasn't fixed yet. Or maybe they can't fix it at all...?

Odd. I have the premium special edition RE4. the collectors tin edition.

Plays fine in my PS3 60gb from launch on a samsung 57inch dlp.. No audio problems.

Even checked the special disc just now. nothing wrong :(

Silent Hill does the same thing when you fire your gun it makes the most annoying noise and it doe not go away until you go into a building and fire again it does the same thing.
