April 2007 Backwards Compatible Update *Official list up*

Is there any way to get this update without putting in one of the newer games?

I say this because I would like to have the update before I head home from school, where I don't have a Live connection.
 
oh fuck yes, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Phantom Dust, Star Wars Republic Commando, MechAssault® 2: Lone Wolf AND JSRF?!!

Excellent timing with EBGS running that Buy2 get 1 sale :D

I'm still saddened that Silent Hill 2 and NFL2k5 has yet to be added, but I guess I can't win them all.

Damn, was hoping for a little magic and popped in GGX2#Reload, it gave me the update was available notification, but it wouldn't download. So I grabbed an burned the update. Now it just says it isn't supported. =P

yeah, this is pretty awesome .. i too own the JSFR/SegaGT disc.. but, i'd rather own the standalone.

Wait, so is the update out yet or is that just a preview list? I just popped in Republic Commando and it didnt prompt any updates.

If you play fighters for fun, why would you use a shitty pad that makes it not fun?

I play fighters for fun too, I'm far from an expert or a tournament level player, but I need a saturn pad at the very least in order to have fun playing these games. I need to be able to do what I want when I want when playing 2D fighers. Can't do that relying on a piece of crap dpad.
 
Looks like I might have to hop over to GS/EB and utilize their B2G1 sale after all. Star Wars:RC, Mech Assault 2, and Unreal Championship 2 will be mine!!

Edit: Scratch that, if I get the original Ninja Gaiden instead of Republic Commando I can walk out with three XBox games for under $10 ... I'm hopping on that train!

It's not like we have a choice on the 360. unless you want to drop a bill on the DoA stick. some people like the Hori pad too, but I thought it sucked.

Damn, the Doa stick goes for a $100 these days? That sucks, I paid $40.

I still need to have a 360 pad modded so I can use my custom stick with it. Either that or have a custom stick built for the 360.

I love this game. It was my first live title, and 50% of the reason why I still have my original Xbawks. (The other is Steel Battalion, so I guess I'll never get rid of it.)

Once I get done with my class work this week, I am hitting this thing *hard*.

Yes to both things highlighted. Although, I do have a Guile SF Anniversary controller for my Xbox too.

Yeah I love the game too, but the problem is you'll have to start all over building up your arsenal. Perhaps we'll see a renaissance of this game online.
 
Still waiting on both Capcom Classic Collection games & all 3 Midway Arcade Treasure games to be BC.

Nice to see that they finally added Street Fighter Anniversary Collection thouhg.
 
I am glad Avatar made the BC list, I bought it for Xbox, but the controllers I have for it are broken. Also, I think it is time to pick up Panzer Dragoon Orta now!
 
Can anyone try X-Men Legends for me?

I heard something about Next Dimension working in a thread so now I am wondering if X-men Legends 1 works?

I already have SFA on PS2, but I just ordered the Xbox version simply for the online play.

Cool that Star Wars Republic Commando was added. I traded for that after the Best Buy clearance sale and didn't realize until after we made the deal that it wasn't BC (at the time). I thought I had seen it on the list (there are tons of Star Wars titles there). But I figured they would add it sooner or later so I went ahead with the deal. Turns out it was sooner rather than later, cool!

Kind of funny, my acquisition of this game has been ass-backwards. I got the guide for a penny from Best Buy a year or so ago. Then I finally got the game a month ago. Now I just need to get an Xbox 360 and I'll actually be able to play it ;).

I also just found a Morrowind Game of the Year Edition on clearance for $8. I snapped that up, but then I found out it wasn't BC. I guess I figured with Oblivion out they would have made Morrowind run on the 360. I'm new to all of this - is there a reason why Morrowind isn't on the list and should I not expect it to be at some point?
 
nice update, I hope they add Marvel vs. Capcom 2 soon, I have it on dreamcast, but don't really feel like hooking my dreamcast up anymore, plus I ran out of room to place my systems.
