I think what keeps getting forgotten is that Israel instigated the conflict right after World War 2.
The fact that the US gave the Israelis tanks, guns, explosives, and bulldozers just made things worse, and can be identified as the single act of anti Muslim terrorism that turned the Arab world against western nations.
Why not just say it:
Blame the evil Jew.
I think that would be blaming zionists, not jews as a whole. Besides, most people believe one side is more at fault than the other, it's just blaming palestinians doesn't have the same effect since no one really tried to exterminate all of them, saying Israel is more difficult since it always carries the risk of being called antisemitic. Though, indirectly (since they didn't actually start the fighting) you should blame britain for adding it into their empire to begin with, removing authority from the native muslim, jewish and christian population (which, more or less, coexisted without many problems). You could also blame the germans (and others who preached antisemitism) for creating a situation where zionism spread among jewish people. If it wasn't for ww2 the zionists probably would never have gained the support needed in the western world, and even among other jewish people. Though it's worth noting that many terrorists groups (such as fatah) were greatly influenced by the zionists, which succesfully used terrorism to gain their nation, and in particular the bombing of the king david hotel. Also, it's worth noting, the mastermind of that attack later became the first prime minister of Israel (something arafat would be well aware of).
My mistake: dirty, evil Jew.
Yeah, it's their fault for surviving the Halocaust.
I think it was obvious that I was saying antisemitism in europe was an indirect cause, not the jews survival of the holocaust, especially since I said "and others who preached antisemitism".
