Out of all of the drives I'd had to RMA in my life, I've never had a vendor stick me with a fee or jump through hoops. Comparing a drive replacement in warranty to a Xbox 360 replacement in warranty isn't a valid comparison.
Drive vendors will go through some troubleshooting steps to determine if the drive is dead or not, and if dead, work through the RMA process. It's pretty straightforward and these days, little to no hassle.
I've only heard good things from square trade, but doesn't really matter if this is an internal hard drive or not I figured?
This is my first time putting in an internal hard drive so I wasn't sure how the warranty process worked
I owned 3 home PC's in the past for a good number of 5+ years and the HDD never went bad...
While I've heard Western Digital being the most recommended, but I figured Samsung, Seagate or Hitachi wouldn't be as bad as 2 of these are stored on retail PS3s
thanks for the info about samsung though this was what I got on their page
