Are you going to see Resident Evil: Apocalypse?

I'm gonna wait for the reviews to come in before i decide. The first was decent and this one looks good but then again, so did the Punisher's trailer and i'm still regretting that one.

I plan on seeing it someday. I saw the first RE film about a month or two ago on Sci-Fi, so it may be awhile before I see this one.

I knew I wouldn't like The Punisher jsut because they got some pretty boy to play him. That dude looks nothing like how Frank Castle should look like IMO. The previews were all I needed to see to know I didn't want to watch it.

...wow, pissy people. First off, the Punisher was NOT a bad film, and this is coming from the guy who works at a comic book store and has seen Catwoman.

Second, yes, i will be seeing this. Everything "behind the scenes" that ive seen looks great, and am looking forward to at least something entertaining.

Here's a cool pic of Milla Jovovich from promoting RE: Apocalypse in Japan (just posting it because it is relevant to the topic and its cool)...

I will probably see it. And I do agree with you on the Punisher, as long as you expected a cheesy movie it delievered. I laughed my ass off the whole movie

Nemesis is actually in this, rocket launcher and all along with Jill and Carlos. It's like a re-telling of RE3 or soemthing with Alice from the first as some hopped up super soldier like Wesker turned into from the looks of things... well maybe not, it's not like her eyes have been glowing red in the previews... Speaking of which the whole running down the building thing, she has a repelling cable hooked to her belt so they arnt saying she can litterally DO that.

Also Rated R? that shocked me to hear.

I will go see it but I am not expecting much. Also, it looks nothing like Resident Evil should be. I hate how they pile on all this action sequence crap that is not in the game. Kicking a zombie dog in the head anyone?

I agree. I think Punisher rocked. DVD Release today!

I got nauseous after only watching some of the first one.

The movie sucked ass and so will this one. Even worse is how the real RE characters like Jill are in the movie but are overshadowed by milla the so-called "star" of this hunk of garbage.

Walks left...left...gets caught on table...spins around slowly...Opens door...

Reads an Ayn Rand Novel...

Enters next room...Sees Zombie...Walks away in horror, shooting at the ground.

YAY!, Fun movie!!

I haven't seen the first one but the trailers are a lot more interesting this time around. I sorta wanna see it and the first one too, maybe I'll just pick up the DVD for cheap. Probably just wait for DVD on this one too so I can see all the extras.

Brilliant. I'm actually watching the first movie now. And the Punisher was cool, especially since they made it rated R, unlike Spawn.

EXACTLY!!! When she bounced off the wall and kicked the dog in the head, (in gay-ass slow motion) that was it. THAT WAS IT!!!! That's the point in the flick that killed the whole movie for me. And the worst part is that no one else whose seen the movie thinks that part is stupid (it is really retarded).
I might go watch it if it gets decent reviews. Btw I thought Spawn was rated R
one of the dvd releases for the live action Spawns was a directors cut R...but the movie was made from the beggining to be a a heavy PG-13.

Punisher was never in the direction of PG-13, it was going to be R from the start.

BTW, go see HERO...great film as well

I thought the first movie was going to be a piece of crap but it turn out to be a very decent movie. The trailer for the second didn't get me very excited but neither did the first one, so I'll probably see it if I find ten bucks laying on the street or something.

Also Rated R? that shocked me to hear.
Wasn't the first rated R?
Indeed it was.

I just didn't like how the zombie acting was handled in the first one. They should hire zombies to be on the writing team, to take care of writing the zombie parts.

As long as Apocalypse doesn't have slow-mo bullet time effects, stupid slicing lasers or Carlos's weird accent it shouldn't be TOO bad.

I just checked IMDB and you're right the first WAS R, which is odd because is sure as hell didnt feel like an R rated movie. Aside from the random Zombie shootings and the biting it coulda been PG13, hel even that one guy caught by the lasers was a pretty bloodless death...

Also looking at some of the clips it also seems like they added elements of RE:eek:utbreak with the random survivors added to the mix. Jill may be a second banana to Alice but the list of familiar elements they stand to toss in from the RE universe out-weighs even Milla Jovovich and will please fans of the games (assuming there are any truely left :p). Originally I thought we'd be lucky to see Jill and Carlos run through the back ground being chased by Nemesis for like half a second but to see them play as much of a role as they seem to was a surprise.

Also: the comercials show a bit of the slowmo bullets but Carlos seems to speak rather normally.

I completely understand the entertainment value in a movie so bad its funny but NOT when you pay $10 to see it in the theatre. I was hoping for a movie with at least the bare essentials: decent plot, decent acting, decent action, etc. and it failed in almost every level. It seriously sucked.
Wasn't Milla nekkid in one scene of Resident Evil?
2 scenes in fact. And when the lictor killed Spencer, there was a ton of blood, also that blood was everywhere during the movie. and in a buch of utterances of f-uck, and you get a R rating.

very happy to see this movie is being released as "R"

The first resident evil movie was by default the best videogame movie IMO.....RE2 should maybe be better then the first...i really hope this one does well box office wise and maybe will spawn more good videogame movies. Who wouldn't love to see an amazing zelda movie?

I liked the first on its own merits just fine. Saying wasn't much like the game is criticizing it for the thing that made it a viable movie.

For anyone who hasn't figured it out: Video games do not make good movies. The things that make for a good game and the things that make for a good movie are mutually exclusive. THey may have elements in common such as audio-visual design and such but one is meant to be played while the other is meant to be watched. Strong narrative is not compatible with strong gameplay.

I'm very unlikely to see this in a theater as I rarely go to theaters at all anymore. Since this time a year ago I've seen exactly three movies in a theater that weren't free screenings. I just don't find theaters to be a good value anymore. I'd rather invest the money in a really good screen for viewing at home as well as gaming.

I disagree. The first Mortal Kombat was a good video game movie because it captured the narrative of the game. And to say that strong narrative is not compatible with strong gameplay seems to completely neglect classics like Metal Gear Solid that managed to amalgamate both forms into a great whole. I think the problem with most video game movies, as with most comic book movies, is that they often do not have the proper resources allocated to them to make it come out well. Video game movies need a Bryan Singer to come about and legitamize them the way that Singer did with X-men and basically single-handedly brought back comic book movies and showed that they could be done well AND be profitable. If more effort is spent on creating a good video game movie than it definately can be done.
