Aria of Sorrow/Harmony of Dissonance 2-Pack for $29.99 at Gamestop (Pre-order)
I think this is a repost. Could be wrong, though.
It was posted about the 2-pack at EB before, but we didn't know which 2 it was.

there is a post at the ds/gba section about gamestop.

This is fuckin' bullshit! If not for Suikoden II, I would literally have no "rare" games in my posession thanks to this. I have all 3 games, complete w/box that I bought on their release dates, now TWO of them will be available for $30?!

Now I don't feel the least bit bad for all those fools buying Disgaea off Ebay for $80 right before the reprint.

People who want games just because they are rare are ridiculous.

Konami is realizing that people want to PLAY their games, so they are rereleasing them.

WOW.. I just don't understand this...

A. There obviously is interest in the games, so it would be foolish for Konami to not reprint them...

B. How incredibly selfish that you wouldn't want others to enjoy these games

C. How sad and meaningless your life must be when you place so much value on video games that you get angry about them.

The only "Rare" games that should esist are poor quality titles that nobody wants. With the Revolution (and other systems will also do) allowing downloads of games, there will be no such thing as a rare game anymore, so all of you fools who speculate on video games, waste your money and realize nobody outside a handful of people even give a damn how "rare" your games are.

I guess what I'm saying is, grow up and stop whining or collect something else you can brag to the three or four other people who actually care.

Yarr how dare a company reprint a game people love.
Repost? Bah, my mistake then. My first attempt at actually helping is a failure.. :(
Eh, I think it's a good thing. I knew about the other threads but think that a lot of people would have never seen them since they were relatively buried.
Why would you hold any value to games? Not a good investment. Go buy shares of Apple ;)
I agree, the game market is a little too unpredictable for investment, although there is some exceptions to that rule.
I think the fact that more people can experience the games is more important than the rarity.
Amen brother. I just wish they did this with all older games like Suikoden II, Valkyrie Profile, Panzer Dragoon Saga, etc.

Agreed on that.

I doubt it, emulation has been easily available for some time and people are still paying high prices for older games, some people prefer to play the games on their original format. What about games from companies that have gone out of business? There are also games like Tengen Tetris on NES, there are so many versions of Tetris available, but this one is rare and worth something. I don't think every game on a Nintendo system will be available on the Revolution, licensed games may be difficult to put on it and niche games probably wouldn't be worth the developer's effort to make available.

I find it bs for the opposite reason. What about those who literally just wanted to play the game and had to fork over 50 bucks for a copy? Sucks to be them. Better for more in the long run though.

Wow! It always baffles me when companies actually do something right like this for a change and rerelease rare games that should be reprinted! This is great news for all of those who couldn't get them the first time, mainly due to the ridiculously small print run of "Harmony of Dissonance". Only small complaint is that they could have thrown in "Circle of the Moon" and have a GBA trilogy pack.

The stand alone versions will still retain their value for the few people that care if they have the first print or the two-pack, so just relax.

Now if Sega would just get off their asses and rerelease some of their rare stuff, all would be right.

Demand for the game will go way down. They will go for nowhere near what they go for now.

That's the way it should be IMO. More cheap ass deals for everyone.

This works out perfect for me. I picked up Circle of the Moon when it released but never got around to buying Harmony of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow. With the DS Castlevania getting me back into the series, I was wanting to pick up the last two. I can't wait.

Circle of the moon is made by a different team and not part of the timeline.

Sega is making a sonic advance/pinball double pack.

Well, I'm glad my accidental repost helped some people. I don't feel like such a failure anymore. :/
Is this reprint one new box or two boxes stuck together? Any clue?
one new box, like the other 2 packs out now. Both games are on 1 cart.
one new box, like the other 2 packs out now. Both games are on 1 cart.
wow that was crazy fast...go back to reword my post and already a quote. Yikes!!!

This is nice for those who don't have the two games; I wish more companies would repress/combine out of print titles that have high demand. It would be even cheaper to reprint CD-based titles, given the price difference between carts and cds. Atlus and Capcom recently reprinted some old PSOne RPGs, but I'd like to see more of them.

Back on topic; most of the "two in one" GBA carts are $19.99, from what I've seen. It's interesting that Castlevania lists at $29.99.

Awesome, I was pissed that I couldnt get them when they were first released but now I have a 2nd chance to pick it up. Thx for the info OP.

That's because most two in one carts are crap.

Besides this spotting on Gamestop's website is there any other confirmation that this is in fact a 2 pack of both the Castlevania GBA games?

I find it hard to believe that 2 games, once sold separately, are now going to be sold on a single cartridge using the same generation of hardware that they were originally released for. Has this ever been done before? Konami could easily re-release the games seperately and sell them for full price and sell a ton.

I need more proof then a Gamestop posting! How is it that Gamestop knows more information than anyone else?

I still want to believe that it will be Simon's Quest and Dracula's Curse. The two best Castlevania games ever. However, I will definitely be quite pleased if this is the two GBA games.

I used to have Circle of the Moon, then Cloudspekk stole it and I never bothered to get another copy. After that I never bothered to pick up the other two Castlevania games.

I'm psyched about this. Though I did get Circle and Aria, I could never find Harmony at a decent price. Glad I won't have to resort to the ridiculous jacked-up prices on eBay just to play it!

Compared to these, Konami is trying to cash in by charging 30 instead of 20.

I have all three now (did some trading here around the first of the year to get Aria & Harmony) but I'm still very happy to see this. My best friend was comenting the other day that he was upset that he missed these 2, especially after playing DoS on the DS. I just emailed him this link, I'm sure it will make him very happy.

And to the poster who was pissed about this making his games worthless - hate to break it to ya, but your Suikoden 2 value is gonna drop like a rock too when the S1/S2 double-pack hits for the PSP. :p

EDIT: Oh, both of those Spyro's for $20? Aren't those supposed to be pretty good?

Never seen those before. Thanks for pointing them out.

Um, $20 is still a rip. All those games blow chunks.

I am pumped for this release. It can be any 2 Castlevania games and I will be happy.

Nintendo could learn from this. Ahem, Donkey Kong Country.

What Konami should have done is put both games on one DS card so you could play AoS the top screen while playing HoD on the touch screen.

I just would've liked it to be on DS and cost $35 together so I could use the touch screen to navigate the menu instead of bothering with the control pad.

If they actually made a port on DS they could also improve the sound quality. MMBN 5 for DS sound a lot better than the GBA version.

I'm still waiting for another confirmation on this as well. I want to be sure before I sell my copies of Harmony of Dissonance and sealed Aria of Sorrow on Ebay. I've learned to not open any games until I actually play them. I made that mistake on Suikoden 2 (still haven't played it), at least I didn't on Aria of Sorrow. But if this proves to actually be true, it is great news.
