For those of you who haven't visited, PenguinUnited carries some pretty spiffy accessories. Well, I assume they're spiffy, I've only ordered their 24 pk DS card pouch...

I'm not sure what he's talking about the back page... both of the ones I ordered were fine.

Anywhoo, onto the deal. I finally broke down and ordered a pair of these the other day (after failing to find a coupon anywhere). Once I received them in the mail, I immedatly noticed that they were very high quality. I posted on another forum about them and shot an e-mail off to the nice folks at PenguinUnited.com thanking them for the awesome merchandise, mentioning my SPAM post and asking if they had a coupon code they'd like me to hand out as well.

They hooked me up with the coupon code: 'thankyoufrompenguin'. It gives you 12% off your order (pre-shipping). These cases are a deal at $10 and a steal at $8.80.

I don't think you have to apologize for anything. This is well above and beyond any company would do. People seem to forget that Penguin United had no obligation to even remake this item let alone make an exclusive one for CAG.
 
I ended up picking up 2 CAG versions.

"wantfieldh" you do not have to apologize for anything. It is impressive, and rare, that a company does something as a "thank you" for all the business that got sent their way for a deal.

I mean Best Buy calls them devil customers and tries to get rid of them.

Looks like a great case.
 
I have to agree with the previous two posts. wantfieldh and everyone at PU have nothing to appologize for. Hell, if they went by simply supply and demand (the have them, we want them) they could have simply made more of one color and sharply raised the price. Instead they created an exclusive case and supplied and exclusive coupon code, lowering the already great price.

If anyone should be apologizing it's anyone who has the nerve to complain about anything Penguin United has done for all of us up to this point.

But then again, that's just the opinion of one simple man and I could be wrong.


Edit: I know there are typos, but I'm just too tired to fix them.
 
I ordered one; exactly what I was looking for (at least in print; haven't got it yet) I just wish I saw this a few days earlier as I ordered this one (and it has shipped) from amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FUG5UO/105-2844010-1216462 Looks like amazon will be getting this one back, or if they charge return shipping time to ebay it (as no self-respecting CAG would have one of those after seeing the PU dS game holder). I've been carrying my DS games around in a NES controller shaped tin that once held mints. Sadly it only holds about 9 games.. I think it's time for an upgrade. I'll pick one of these up once I figure out the address of my new place. CAG has helped lead me to alot of good deals in the past, so why not? :)
 
It won't work with RE4 since you have to hold b and press a to shoot. But, im hoping it will with Prime, or any other game :p Its still worth it for me, as it looks SO COOL.
 
In for one... don't particularly need something of that size (I'm below 24 games now), but it's better than stuffing a few carts in the back pocket of my DS Phat case.
 
Pick up one today. Don't really need one but after reading 19 pages of this thread felt the need to support.

And as has been stated several times now: Now, I just need something for my GBAs...

I picked up two CAG marked versions as well.

I laughed at the devil customers remark :lol:
 
Somehow I managed to miss this the first time around and also was oblivious to the "will it be put back into production?!" drama. Thanks to PU for bringing the case back and Cheapy for posting this on the front page to alert us to the awesomeness that is this case. I'm in for one CAG custom.

Sobering thought: Think long and hard before taking this on the road with you. Fully loaded, you're carrying 24 x $30 = $720 (of course, being CAGs, I doubt you paid $30 for all or even most of your games ;) ). I'd be very reluctant to take this on a trip. Really, I can't see wanting to carry more than 6-7 games at a time outside my home, and can use the ALS cases for that. But this will be PERFECT for keeping a larger selection of in-progress (are some of you carrying completed Phoenix Wright games and such around with you? Why?) games on hand at home.
 
I think Cheap Ass Gamer needs a new logo. I know its functional but with special CAG edition items coming available we may need a cool custom logo.
 
I have 2 Red ones, ordered 2 Grey ones the other day and I'm about to order 1 of the CAG branded ones. This is the best case ever and I own a ton of games and plan to get more between now and the coming months.

While I don't plan on getting the DS carrying case (haven't completely made up my mind on that yet), I want to thank Penguin United for their generosity towards our site. With or without a CAG exclusive coupon, I will definitely be going through their site every now and then to order stuff for myself. It's rare that a company will go out of their way to thank their customers like this. So when we find a company that does, I thin we should all make it a point to make sure they get our business.

Well I have the Hori Compact Pouch which holds 8 games, so I can put the other 11 in the case.

I just really hope the game gets here by Saturday, or else I won't see it until the 28th :whistle2:(
 
I don't know if any of you saw shrike's earlier post about he was refunded the 12% because he bought the item before the coupon code was available. I did the same thing and asked PU for a refund via PM and they haven't even responded (it's been more than 24 hours) I just wanted to say that I am very dissapointed in their customer service so far.
 
Try emailing them.... Most companies don't use CAG as their form of customer service... LOL!

I emailed them and they replied in a few hours. VERY nice service. Still hasn't shipped though, but I'm in no rush

You must be the only one. I had a busted case. They emailed me back next day and sent me a new case. So I have the broken, unzipperable case plus the new one that I sent out for. They were very professional about it. I didn't even have to ship my old one back or pay for shipping on the new one

Plus the CAG case is made of better materials than the older batchs (i.e yours).
 
Ugh my order got shipped out (I ordered a case + the wii charger + battery bundle) via UPS. Heres to hoping I dont have to pay UPS' bullshit $50 brokerage fee.

This is Richard from Penguin United. mm well there has been a little issue with our ecommerce website, the order tracking info has not be working correctly and we didn't want to fix it this week while these DS game cases are for sale.

Please rest assure however, that everything is shipped out next business day. If you use an E-Check from paypal, which takes 3-5 days to clear, than there will be a delay. Otherwise, if you got a confirmation email with order numnber,t han your item will be shipped next day.

A few change from the previous version of the gamecard pouch.

1) Exterior made of better material
2) More detailed craftsmanship, so you can look as closely as you want and you won't see anything wrong with it.
3) The inside game storage pages are made of different material. It is a lot more transparent than the last version. The small drawback is that when you use it for the first time, it will take a little effort to open up each of the pockets to put in the game. After you put in your game once, it won't have that problem anymore.

In for my one that I said I'd get way back when...I'm very happy to see that the stinky penguin logo is still on the case.

I'm curious to know how many are left now, (please don't do the 999 test without removing them from your cart after you're done, or it will be "sold out" again like what happened a few days ago).

Richard: Feel free to let us know when the stock reaches milestone quantities, less than 200 (probably already below that by now), 150, 100, 50, 20, 10, 5, 1 :) There's too many CAGs who like to wait until the last minute before buying, this will help push them to not miss out this time.
 
Richard, do you think I'll get my case by Saturday? I ordered it the minute the CAG cases went up for sale, and I chose the 1-2 day shipping option.
