Darn... missed out on this. I thought this was a permanent price drop when I first glanced at this thread a few days ago... didn't know EB was going to pull another Rumble Roses on us again.
 
I almost got Sears to PM my print-out from yesterday... but the associate didn't want to pull the trigger on a $35 difference, so called a manager.... and it spiraled out of control from there. One didn't want to price match internet sales, another manager didn't care, so he decided to check ebgames.com... bad news.

Of course, the first manager was prepared to not PM EB/EBGames in general, saying they weren't a local competitor (not in the list on the system)... I could have had a field day with that if this price had still been valid or in-store...

I doubt that will work when it's not listed as $14.99 anymore. They probably have to wait for it to reappear in the system as $14.99 before they can do that.

You could just get a replacement at the B&M store without paying any more if they sent you an open copy.

They normally would go "It's online only, and we don't support that", And if you tried to fight it they would have told you to fuck yourself.

If anyone has a printout of the game at 14.99, I'd appreciate it.

I have a printout that I used. I would glady share it. I don't know how to post a scan of it or I would. I could scan it and email it to you if you like.
 
Just letting everyone know...I got my copy. Now to finish the last boss in Prime 1 and start Prime 2. And the packaging...the box art, with that reflective holographic finish...is the BOMB!

Let us know if you have luck with that. I think someone previously said their CC turned them down after calling the local EB, but chances are some CSRs are less thorough than others.
 
Yea, I remember price matching DOA:Ultimate and the difference was 24 bucks and the girl just looked at the blurry, printed out ad, messed with the register a bit, and rang it up for me. Didn't even ask store manager or anything. Try to get someone at the register.

Thats how I got MGS: TT for GCN for 27 the first week it came out.

As a matter of fact, I called EBs corp. office and bitched them out, saying that with a person's usual busy schedule, not everyone is aware within hours. They told me that all of their deals (such as the Metroid and Paper Mario ones) are in their newsletter, which one can get by email by signing up for an account.

Been signed up for a long time, and I don't recall even getting a newsletter recently, though I guess I can browse through my email. Certainly not in the vicinity of the Metroid price drop. Not to mention the price dropped twice in a matter of hours it seemed like.

I was going to email my scan to ddp72984 and he said he could put it on a server for other people. I have to wait until later tonight when I get home from work and school.
 
If someone else has luck with the PM I'll have to give it a shot next time I can drive out to Mentor... I just discovered when preparing for the $9.99 sale at the beginning of the month that most of the Cleveland CC's were closed back in February, so there are really only two within driving distance (and the one a ten minute walk from me has to be the worst store of any kind I've been to as far as overall selection) I get all excited whenever there's a good promo since it's right next door, only to be disappointed every visit that nothing is stocked.
 
He sent it to me, but I can't post it since Imageshack only allows a certain size file, and the scan is too big for it. For those who want to know, he printed out the screen (you can tell cause the colors are all bluish, meaning his printer is almost out of ink), and then made a scan of the printout. It'll get the job done, though.

Now the key will be if I get it for "free". The first reward for my purchase was Rewards Reservation, with a $10 EBgames.com gift voucher if my membership is active after 6 days (you can cancel anytime during your 30 day free trial, I've done it twice before for gas vouchers). Then from joining Rewards Reservation, it seemed I also will get a $10 EBgames.com gift voucher for joining TRavel Values Plus (same conditions as above, this is the actual program that I have joined and cancelled twice in the past). I use one of my throwaway credit card numbers to order just in case (they use your EB order information) so if for some reason they try to stop me from cancelling, they can't exceed my tiny credit limit.

Edit: And definitely avoid using a primary email when signing up for these offers, if applicable.

Nope, I tried to get the N64/GB pack and it didn't work.
