[quote name='botticus']I've never had a vendetta against a store employee, until now... the Sears manager strikes again.
botticus: "Hi, I'd like to price match this [Metroid 2]"
Associate: "who would buy this used for $34.99 when it's $14.99, how dumb."
A: [does price match]
A: "Okay, just waiting for the manager to approve this"
[ten minutes later]
Manager: "Oh, we don't price match this. It was an error in the system, I looked at it last week when someone tried it [me]."
b: "Can you look at it again?"
M: "No, I just looked at it."
b: "Look at it again"
M: [looks] Oh, well it's an error. I'll PM the $34.99"
b: "Excuse me? Why?"
M: "It's a .com price, we don't do that. We only do B&M"
b: "Your policy says you match competitor's websites"
m: "no it doesn't"
b: "Go look at it"
[half hour passes]
M: "Our policy does say we match online prices. But I clicked on the link [MP2 in the 'Best Sellers'] and now it says unavailable [just sold out!!!]. So I called the number and they said it was a limited quantity, our policy says we don't match special pricing"
b: [dumbfounded that a manager could procrastinate long enough for an item to sell out and thereby say they don't have to match it, using a different excuse each time]
b: "So last week you would have said it was a limited quantity, even though they have more limited quantity?"
M: "Last week was an error..."
b: [more dumbfoundedness]
Needless to say I will be calling EB corp. tonight to find out exactly what their explanation is for this pricing, and if I can find someone who says it's just a price drop, Sears manager is getting a call and a big "

you"
... That's why I ordered online first.[/QUOTE]
Don't waste your time with calling EBgames. It's most likely a marketing technique to draw people to their website daily and stir up excitement.
