haha wow im surprised someone actually knows about asian man records and the bands on the label especially mu330. Back in high school me and some friend would drive up to chicago to check out a lot of the chicago bands on asian man. Being from St. Louis is also had the luxury to see Mu330 and Dan Potthast numerous times.

Nice, Asian Man Records bands up in that list. I know very well Dan P, Alk3, Mike P dudes and all. I play in a band and have gone on tour/played with several on your list. Dan actually moved here to Santa Cruz and has a sickter acoustic project.

My more fun band story of late was a few weeks ago in SF went to a little hotel party with the Donnas after one of their shows and, literally, partied til 6am. I'd met them before but they are the sweetest and totally insanely fun girls. The downside being that I lost my rental car key (and that mo'fo cost me $150 to get a copy of it! damn computer keys!)

The ones I paid for:
NERD x2
Jay-Z
311
The Roots
Talib Kweli
Hoobastank ( Booo!!!!)
OAR

When I work at the Tweeter Center I saw:
3 Doors Down
The Cure
Linkin Park
Ozzy
Jessica and ashley simpson (Boo!!)

Korn x2
Rob Zombie
Deftones

Snoop Dogg

And for the record, the best place to see live music is the Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA. Every band sounds good in there.

Shadow’s Fall
Killswitch Engage

And for the record I am extremely jealous of anyone who got to see Rage Against the Machine. They were and still are one of my favorite bands. i never got to see them live, and finally got tickets to the concert they were putting on with the Beastie Boys. One of the B-Boys broke some bone or something, the concerts got cancelled, and RATM broke up. I'm still bitter.

It's like how I got kicked out of a Soundgarden concert for repeatedly trying to get close to the stage... or maybe it was for being really drunk... anyway, they broke up and I never got to see an entire show from them... wait, scratch that - were they at Lollapalooza? Hmmm... I think so... nevermind. Well that was only like 40 minutes though...

Even though Our Lady Peace didn't break up, same story with them... could have seen them at school for $5, then the moronic drummer broke his wrist in a snowboarding accident so they cancelled and never rescheduled. Ah well.

And I just remembered I saw Everclear and Ben Folds at school now, gotta add them to the list. Everclear was unintelligible in an auditorium, but Ben Folds was fucking amazing in an orchestra hall.

I'm just as jealous, but luckily I didn't have to go through such a shitty situation. I would still be pissed, too, if that happened to me. Rage is my favorite band by far and the first I truly got into when I was 10, I think. Anyway, bands I've seen live by show:

Trey Anastasio - My first concert. It was full of energy and Trey and his backup band put on a great show.

Oysterhead - Very entertaining and just a fun show.

Ted Leo & the Pharmacists(twice) - Both times they had microphone problems, but they were still pretty damn good. I can't remember the bands that opened for them, but they weren't that good so it's alright.

Ben Folds/Howie Day/Random Acoustic Guy - Howie Day and the R.A.G. were pretty lame, but Howie Day did some cool looping that was entertaining for a few minutes. Ben Folds put on a great show, of course.

My Chemical Romance/Monty's Fan Club/Alkaline Trio - Not that bad of a show since it was really high energy, but I was never a fan of Alkaline or Monty.

My Chemical Romance/Reggie and the Full Effect/Alkaline Trio - Pretty much the same as the above show but with absolutely no crowd enthusiam. URI is lame like that sometimes. I was growing out of that music anyway, and I almost just didn't go at all.

Kanye West - He had two openers but they didn't interest me so I waited with my girlfriend and my friend who was working at the Ryan Center. The best show I have seen. I felt like I was watching a friggin' movie. I just wish Common wasn't busy doing a movie, because I was really looking forward to seeing him perform.

Talib Kweli/Mos Def/Pharoah Monche/Jean Grae/K'naan - Everyone of them was fantastic and performed really well. I had never heard of K'naan, so that was a nice surprise. The only bad part was when Mos' set went on a little long, but I shouldn't complain. I hope to see Talib, Mos, and Pharoah Monche, who put on the best set I felt, again.

Definetely not many but here we go:

Dixie Chicks (before they got big, and had the original singer)
Hootie and the Blowfish (when they were playing the club circuit)
Megadeth
Paddy Gidney
Jonny Lang
George Clinton & the P-Funk Allstars (back when I was in college)

Hoping to do a few this year, depending on how money goes and all.

A Dozen Furies
Dozens of opening bands whose names I can't remember
And for the record I am extremely jealous of anyone who got to see Rage Against the Machine. They were and still are one of my favorite bands. i never got to see them live, and finally got tickets to the concert they were putting on with the Beastie Boys. One of the B-Boys broke some bone or something, the concerts got cancelled, and RATM broke up. I'm still bitter.
I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I love RATM I still listen to their albums almost daily. I also wish to have seen nirvana, and smashing pumpkins live that would have been the best experience of my life. Anyways I saw billy corgan, unloco, disturbed, ozzy osbourne, korn, and chevelle in concert and they were all great except for maybe chevelle.

Probably some others I'm forgetting

Had tix to David Bowie and NIN back in 95, but the show coincided with my honeymoon and I kinda had to go to that.
Also had tix to Anthrax/Iron Maiden in, 90? but Bruce Dickinson got laryngitis and cancelled the show.
Also had tix to Black Sabbath in 90 or so, when Headless Cross came out, but it was cancelled for some reason. And three or four GWAR shows got cancelled before or after I got tickets. One show got shut down during the show, in Athens in 92 or so. That was fun. There I was, a criminal justice major shouting 'F* the pigs!'

Last year I popped my cherry and went to Houston Tx to see H.I.M.

Skin Dred and Finch came out first. I didnt care much for either of them but Skin Dred had this kick ass star wars empire theme laced with a bass track. Didnt care much for Finch, and H.I.M. was top notch worth the price alone.
