Baten Kaitos and Tales of Symphonia 19.99 NEW at Gamecrazy!!!

This was one sweet deal. It's going to disappear off shelves before it gets lower than $20.

Also got Custom Robo today for $10 at EB. What a great week for cheapass deals.

I got a copy of Baten Kaitos, Wish I had gotten Paper Mario 2 at the Toys R Us buy 2g1 sell a while back instead of Tales though. Probably be a loooong time before Paper Mario 2 drops.

My initial reaction to this thread was that I had to go run out and get Baten Kaitos, but, upon reflection, I realized there was no way I'd get around to playing it before it becomes $20 or less everywhere. Still a great deal for those who want it now.

Same here--my backlog of unopened games that I need to play has grown to disgusting proportions...but I may still pick up ToS if my local GC has it at 19.99. After reading up on Baten it just doesn't look like my kind of game.

Man, I just came back from my local Gamecrazy, and they still had both games for $49.99. I really wanted to pick up Tales of Symphonia.

Si1veR, I hope you had them scan it...

I went there today. Teh tag said $49.99, so I just asked for it and the dude said "I think it's actually $19.99". And it was. And then I purchased it. The end.

Yay cheap games.

Well I traded in 1 of my 2 new copies of Custom Robo and got 15 for it and then I was buying the $20 Baten Kaitos when the employee told me they had a used copy of it as well which would help with my MVP so I ended up getting the game for $16.19. Not bad at all.

Mannn I wish I had a gamecrazy nearby.. If anyone can pick up a Tales of Symphonia for me I would be foreverin your debt..

I saw both games at my GC, and they said that as far as they knew this was a permanent price drop. We shall see. I would like to hear this confirmed by another GameCrazy though.

I'm telling you guys, ToS is amazing. Also, every other place I've checked lists Tales as $49.99. You could probably get more than $20 credit trading it at GameRush.

I scored a copy of Baten Kaitos at the Chicago Gamecrazy (on Milwaukee) today! WOO!
I can also confirm that TOS is $19.99 there for anyone interested.

Back from GC- wonder if I surprised the guy, showing up to buy 5 minutes after I called and put it on hold ( wanted to be sure they one before I left the house.)

No ToS in stock- bad cuz I wanted to nab one or two for those who can't get to a GC, good becuase it means buying a used one for 35 wasn't a mistake :D I'll take what I can get.

If anyone can pick up a ToS for me, let me know.. I can send paypal and pay for shipping and a little extra for your trouble..

Thanks, I'll try again tomorrow.
These are both new, I changed the price on them in our store the other day.

And just for your info, Blockbuster Gives $25 for Baten Kaitos, AND, GameCrazy will pricematch Blockbuster's Trade in Prices. So, Getting $5 store credit for trying Baten Kaitos isn't bad.
Thanks for the info. I traded in Baten Kaitos I bought at Kmart for ToS and 3.50 in change.

The dude wanted 6 bucks for BK and it took forever for him to call and pricematch, but it all worked out.

Yup, just bought Baten Kaitos there for $20. I had to ask the guy if the price went down though, because the tags were still saying $50 for both Tales of Symphonia and Baten Kaitos.

Gamecrazy is to Hollywood video as Gamerush is to blockbuster, right? Does this mean that the hollywood video locations sell games or does it have to be a gamecrazy. If HV does sell games, would their prices also reflect GC prices. thanks for shining the light on this gamecrazy/hollywood video virgin.

I just wanted to confirm that ToS and BK are 20 bucks. Saw them both at my GameCrazy. The BK was still priced at 49.99, but rang at 19.99.

Even though I have zero time to play either one I picked them up. Sort of defeats the purpose of "getting a deal", but that is how it goes. lol

Well i just went to pick up ToS and someone had just reserved the last copy..if i would havbe known you can call and reserve at gamecrazy i would have done it =/ He said they were getting more in soon though. I guess it all works out.

I got the last TOS at the 82nd and Powell store in Portland (they still have Baten Kaitos, though). However, for any local CAGers who want TOS, there are a bunch of Game Crazy stores out here, so there's bound to be at least one (if not more) that still have it in stock.

Thanks OP! :)

Game... rush? Hmm, I never knew Blockbuster opened a gaming division...

Thanks again OP! Went out today and picked up a Baten Kaitos today. It was the last one in the store. But it seems that the customer service there is still as bad as it has always been. fucking jerk there, he didn't even want to help me let alone look up from the game he was playing. I first asked him if they have it in-stock and he's like I dunno did you look. He's like it should be on the wall and you should just be able to see it if you know your alphabet. fucking asshole, he gets paid to work there and he doesn't want to help or even bring it down for me.
I don't even think there is a Gamecrazy in Virginia or North Carolina. Oh well.
There are.

Edit: I'm not seeing much near collinsville, though (although I'm not really familiar with the geography of the area, I am just trying nearby city names in the locator. It isn't exactly the most user-friendly store locator out there. I mean, come on, at least let us check a master list of all locations).

Hey, what did you expect? He's getting paid minimum wage, and one of the few job perks he gets is playing games all day (when he should be helping customers). It's a good thing Hollywood Video's DVD/VHS rentals are doing well, or this jerk would probably be helping to put the company out of business. :D

Picked up BK last night. Both games were stickered $50 and the clerk knew nothing of the price drops but BK rang up $20 and I am sure ToS would too.

Damn, what a jerk indeed. I hope you gave him the one finger salute as friendly gesture :). I'm glad the ones around here are cool and helpful.

You are right about that. Thanks anyway.
anyone know if hollywood video sells games too. and it would probably be the same price if they did, right?
The Hollywood Video must have a Gamecrazy attached to it--if not, they don't carry any games for sale.

Yup, in the case of no Gamecrazy being present at a Hollywood, I believe that the Hollywood sends out their used games to Gamecrazies either locally or nationally.

I picked up the last ToS at my local Game Crazy.

The guy threw in a ton of free stuff for some reason. He was practically running around the store grabbing all the free goodies he could find. I didn't even ask for anything. Weird experience, but cool.

Which one in town did you go to?

Well, I first went to the one at Nellis & Stewart, but they were sold out.

So I went to a crappier area of town (Eastern & Bonanza) and got it there. The guy said, "Hey man, you can have this too." Then he ran to grab something else and yelled "AND THIS!" ran back to grab something else.. "AND THIS!".. AND THIS!.. AND THIS!.. AND THIS!.. etc."

He was crazy.

For what its worht I stopped by a regular Block Buster last night and they quoted me $25 trade in on Tales of Symphonia BEFORE the trade 3 get $5 extra...

So you could get $30 credit on Tales if its bundled with two other games.

FYI for MN CAGs in the Northwest Metro: The Brooklyn Center GC was, for some strange reason, charging 30 for Tales new and 20 for it used. I went there to see if I could find a used copy (none at the one by me in Brooklyn Park), and they had 3 or 4 used, but I wasn't about to pay the same price as new for a used copy. I went back to the Brooklyn Park GC and they had it for 20 new, so I picked up a copy. Just a heads up if anyone's planning on going over there.

hmmm ... i suspect a price drop on this one is coming ... I'd pick it up right now but there are SO many games I still haven't touched yet -- i'll pick this one up when it's a player's choice... of course, i'll be dashing to grab one w/o that ugly yellow strip.

Thanks for the deal, OP
