Hmm not really sure where to post this. I see a thread on the walmart buy the game get original free, so i figure heres as good as any place

I'm a bit confused about Batman: Arkham City. It seems different stores have different exclusive content. I was in Best Buy today and noticed they have some kinda Robin DLC pack. Im not sure if its just a character skin or if its full missions though. I think Gamestop has some joker pack, though im not sure what it actually is, and Walmart is giving you the first game for free.

Does anyone have a complete list or know for sure what different stores have what? Its worth mentioning that when i was looking online Newegg.com's cover art looks completely different than the one ive seen everywhere else. However i see no mention of exclusive content. Anyone know if they just uploaded the wrong picture, or what the deal is with that?

So far as i know

Best buy: Robin DLC (no idea what it is though.. skin or missions)
Gamestop: Jokers carnival pack (dunno if its a new level, or you play as the joker or what)
Walmart: Free copy of the first game.. dont know if it has any DLC though

anyone else? Did Amazon, Fry's, Target, Kmart, Newegg, ect get anything? ANd does anyone have more info on the 3 ive found? I was gonna just wait for a sale or price drop for this game, but these exclusives have me thinking i may pick it up earlier. Id just like to know what all the options are before biting. On the surface Walmarts offer seems the best, but I already have the original
Don't you get a Batman the Animated Series skin at gamestop for preordering or something?
Toys R US was offerring 70s batman skin with a toy ( not sure if toy still included)

Robin pack is 3 skins and missions

Collector's edition comes with Dark Knight Returns skin?

Batman TAS came if you had a powerup membership.

Robin pack is probably the most value for your dollar at the moment regarding current pack-ins.
I got the cartoon skin for buying from TRU. Was this for everyone or a exclusive for them?
Just them. It was exclusive.
Also, they wouldn't let me use the coupon and price match :(

Have no fear, pre-order/retail edition/post-release DLC database man is here!

I'm just going to list the DLC and their means of obtainment (for the US peoples in regards to retailers), not the toys/t-shirts/digital copy of the Gotham Knight, etc. Also, Rocksteady confirmed that ALL pre-order DLC WILL be available to the public via XBLM/PSS sometime later this year.

TRU pre-order - 1970s Batman skin (will be released with the $5 Batman Skins pack (all 7 skins included) on both systems on 12/6/11 -> http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/add-ons/batman-arkham-city-skins-pack/97712)

BB pre-order - Robin Pack (comes with playable Robin, extra 3 Robin skins (animated series, Kingdom Come Red Robin and Tim Drake's Red Robin) and 2 exclusive Robin challenge maps (Black Mask Hideout and Freight Train escape) as well as 2 achievements/trophies worth an extra 50 GS, the entire pack will be released as DLC for $7 on 11/22/11)

Gamestop pre-order - Joker's Carnival challenge map, and if you're a PUR member, the animated Batman skin, which will also be part of the $5 skin pack for either system, but no word on a separate release date for the challenge map.

Buying the Green Lantern extended cut Blu-Ray also got you the code for the PS3-timed exclusive Sinestro corps skin for Batman (which will also be included in the skins pack on BOTH systems)

NOS' rewards program allows you to buy a Batman Beyond skin for Batman by spending 1 of their rewards points.

Buying the Collector's Edition gets you the Iceberg Lounge (Penguin hideout) challenge map, as well as the Dark Knight Returns skin (the skin will be released with the skins pack, but there are no details on a separate release for the Iceberg Lounge).

Buying any new retail version of Arkham City also got you a one-time voucher for the Catwoman Bundle Pack (only way to play Catwoman's main story missions), which is currently offered on XBLM/PSS for $10 otherwise. It comes with 6 achievements/trophies (worth 150 extra GS to the 1000 the game has by itself). It will also get you a code to participate in the Gotham City Impostors' beta, and apparently will give a bonus or 2 in itself.

The other 2 skins (Batman: Year One and Silver Age Batman) are unavailable to US buyers, but will be available as part of the Batman skin pack, again for $5 for release on XBLM/PSS on 12/6/11.

Full skin list and where to get it sans Silver-Age -> http://www.ugo.com/games/batman-arkham-city-pre-order-skins

The other DLC planned for release is:

Nightwing Pack (with a playable Nightwing, an extra animated series Nightwing skin, and 2 challenge maps (Wayne Manor and Main Hall)) for $7 on XBLM/PSS starting 11/1/11.

Catwoman Mission Pack with 4 extra missions for Catwoman, that has no release date/price as of yet.

You're welcome.

Edit: Threw in some extra details and emphasis, that's about as thorough as I can get. Glad to help. Yes, I know that this is posted in the wrong section, but when it gets moved, at least all of this is cataloged.

Usually, as is the standard, the first wave of new copies of games will have the pre-order DLC, so if you buy the game week 1, you're usually good. (Due to canceled pre-orders and retailer incentive).

And again, I did not include non-DLC bonuses.

I assume you mean you had to pre-order at GS to get this cuz if not then I better get my TAS skin in my email and soon since my PUR membership is good till Feb 2012.;)
hopefully those challenge maps are released as DLC too
They will be, that much is confirmed, but I'm not sure if they'll be released separately or together. I hope there's some sort of bundle. Well, I guess they didn't TECHNICALLY confirm the CE exclusive challenge map getting a release, but when Arkham Asylum came out, a similar kind of thing happened. The only retailer with a pre-order bonus DLC was Gamestop with a challenge map, and the CE had an exclusive challenge map, but they both got XBLM/PSS releases, and were included on the GotY edition.

Going to go to wal mart tomorrow and get both games. I wasn't interested in Batman until my fucking friend started playing it and well now I want it . I want both games because I played the first one but never owned it and never even gotten far in it.

I don't think they're still running the deal
I don't think they're still running the deal
Saturday was the last day, sorry. If you can chill 'till Black Friday, do it, and the GotY is EASILY worth $20 (especially the PS3 version with its exclusives), which'll be the going price at most.

HAHAH! oh man you guys are so witty and funny. The first person making the in for 1 joke, ect was great, and the 4 others chiming in afterward were obviously such amazing masters of wit that im just floored by how hilarious you guys are! Seriously, why are you all on this forum? You should be out doing stand up.
Just go buy a version and wait until it all releases as DLC.

IMO, K-Mart had the best offer. You take the $30 credit turn $20 of it into a PSN or XBL card. Then you can get all the exclusive content (minus 2 maps which haven't been announced yet) and still have a bit of credit to use for another game.
Bah, i never buy DLC, ever. Still, for those that do, the $30 credit would be the best deal probably. Assuming you shop at Kmart enough to make it worth it. Thanks for the link to the pics though. I thought the top left one was black panther, but i guess thats nightwing?

Anyway, i was gonna update the post with all the info, but all the comedic genius's make me say F it. I figured i post it in the deal thread so people could see a consise list of all the bonuses to decide what to get. A deal isn't just a price deal. Bonus items or DLC are also part of deals, but whatever

Thanks thats pretty concise. Id update the OP with this info but all the whiners make me not want to bother. The only thing is i'm not sure which ones were only pre-orders and which are still deals.. I.E. The Best Buy Robin pack that you listed as a pre-order is available in stores right now. It makes me wonder if the Toys R' Us is still avalible or not. Also you left out the Walmart: get first game free deal

for me personally, the Best Buy one is the best looking set for me, since it has actual MISSIONS with it and a new character, and not just a skin. All the others seem to be just skins. Gamestops 'challenge map' seems the lamest

Actually im pretty sure you can still get it at Walmart with the first game for free. They were actually bundles they just threw out on the shelves. There were tons when i went in Friday

I gotta look at that NOS thread and see how to get that skin. I never drank it before. Honestly all this skin stuff is kinda bullshit. Anyone remember the days when you unlocked skins like this through actual GAMEPLAY as bonus's? Instead of having to shell out money for them? Christ i hate this nickel and dime DLC age were living in

Last time I was at Wal Mart there was 8,000 of them on the shelves. I surely don't think they got rid of all of those or debundled them. If they did what the fuck, lol. Arkham Asylum is GOTY, that I know, so I might as well go to wal mart tomorrow. They still have to have bundles.

Also I have 4 wal mart's in the area I could check for this deal potentially so I am sure one of them would still have bundles. Going to check when I get up tomorrow, because I know Wal Mart will not debundle it and I know since my wal mart is in a place where batman wont get a lot of sales, they probably still have some. I also don't think Wal Mart would just ship back the crapload of copies they have sitting there on the big cardboard layout they have.

I was focusing on DLC deals. Robin doesn't have missions, but he is a new character with skins and challenge maps. And I'd agree on BB having the being the best pre-order DLC, it's certainly selling on Ebay the most. There were actual bundles? Heh. Still prefer it from BB, but that's cool. If I didn't own the original GotY, would be all over it. I didn't see any bundles when I went in on Saturday night.

I agree with you about the skins part, AvP 2010 did THAT right (almost, they had one set of pre-order skins, there were only 3 of 'em, one per species). Arkham Asylum had you unlock the Armoured Batman skin for challenge maps by beating the game, not sure about Arkham City's unlockable skins.

Usually, as is the standard, the first wave of new copies of games will have the pre-order DLC, so if you buy the game week 1, you're usually good. (Due to canceled pre-orders and retailer incentive).

This thread would have made more sense before the game came out as all these things would have been pre-order bonuses. Now everythings a bit more confusing. No need for the OP to get mad that others are making fun, because this threads pretty worthless here.

How bout you stop complaining and update the OP?
You created the thread now go do your work
Does Best Buy accept four copies of the same game?
No only 3 of the same game for the same platform for the whole year. You can however for example do 3 360 and 3 ps3 arkham city

Got the Wal Mart deal no problem today. It's YMMV if they still have copies. Mine had 20+ left for both systems in the glass case. This was the Tamaqua, PA store.

Good thinking. I think the DLC will compliment the Kmart purchase very well.

edit: Then again, I still have extra PSN cards (bought previously at Kmart) I might use instead.
Do people just ignore the pre-order bonuses thread on purpose? Seriously, this thread doesn't even need to exist and should be locked.
Honestly, it's nice, but I find it lacking in detail sometimes. Is a more thorough runthrough really that bad that it needs to be locked? Especially now that's in THIS section?

You only have FOUR WalMart stores by you? We have Dickson City, Honesdale, Taylor(just built cuz apparently going the less than 5 miles to the DC store is too far), Pittston, Wilkes-Barre and Hazleton.

What I find funniest is that they haven't tried building one between Dickson City and Honesdale yet since they seem to be spacing them about 5-10 miles apart now. They're like Gamestop. There's a ton of their stores evenly spaced out to try and kill off any local competition in their respective markets.

But this was still too good a deal for me to pass up, even if it meant I had to go into Satan's den to buy it.
