Batman: The Dark Knight - Movie Thread - $158.3 Million First Weekend

Can you imagine the officer who had to fill out the police report when he asked him for his name?

Officer: Name?
CB: Wayne, Bruce Wayne.
Officer: Occupation?
CB: Billionaire Playboy (which can be true).
Ledger was awesome as Joker, but he's replaceable. Yes, I said it. I think a lot of people forget he isn't the one that wrote the movie, he was only reading the lines. Everybody says "oh, Ledger's Joker was amazing!" No, it wasn't HIS Joker. It's not like they auditioned for Batman villains and he showed up with his idea for the Joker. All you need is somebody to come in with a creepy clown voice and I wouldn't notice the difference.
Wow.

Its not about who delivers the line, its about HOW you deliver the line.

Ditto! Ledger completely transformed into the character and it was amazing. Having someone step in and try to recreate the magic would be near impossible.

...and if someone does it, I have no problem eating my words...

For those who still refuse to recognize Maggie Gyllenhaal's hotness, I opened my new Maxim and saw this lovely image:

I think Mr. Reese is just a name. It is interesting to note, though. Oddly enough, many of us thought Anthony Michael Hall's character in The Dark Knight would wind up as the Riddler. He has the potential to be a solid Riddler.

If there is a third film, I do indeed believe the Riddler will be the next featured villain, as he is one of the crazier rogues in Bats' gallery. If Nolan wants to continue Ledger's Joker, I think one way he could do it is by having Bats seek counsel from the Joker at Arkham Asylum, like how Spidey sought advice from Norman in prison. Nolan would use lighting to his advantage as he tries to create an artificial Ledger Joker using body doubles and other various techniques. I do not know how well it would work, though.

Honestly, I don't want a third film. Primarily, because the bar has been set so high that disappointment is nearly guaranteed.

I think she's cute, though hot is a whole different territory. Plus, it's subjective. I do find her attractive, though. :D

No Penguin?

fuck this movie.

Seriously though, great movie. Ledger's job as the Joker lived up to the hype 100%. Most of the time, it didn't even seem like I was watching a movie, I was that involved with it. Which doesn't usually happen to me when I watch movies.
Maggie = ugly
dude, great sig.
i thought that scene was bad ass. if there was sound in that scene it wouldn't have been as effective.

Yeah, she's not hot as far as actresses go, but she's not bad looking at all IMO.

I always love such bashing on the net though, probably coming from nerds who'd kill to get laid period.

Not a big deal, I'd just be shocked to see any one calling her ugly post a picture of their girlfriends and to have them be better looking than her or other actresses they call ugly.

People just turn into pricks and talk a lot of shit on the net. She's not pretty, but her face is ok and her body makes up for it IMO.

Looked good to me. Different strokes for different folks I guess. She's nothing special, but I'd put her a bit above average. Some of the girls I've dated have been way hotter than her, but she's hotter than some others I've dated.

She's not hot for an actress, and wouldn't even be the hottest chick in most bars, but she's definitely doable IMO. Kind of has that semi-hot girl next door thing going for her.

Zew probably doesn't realize that every picture of a hot actress he's ever scene was altered in some way. Nobody gets their picture in print without some kind of alteration. Then there's the make up and crap that is applied before hand.
She did a nude scene in a film, she's pretty average in the body department.
still doesnt make her pretty..

most chics are doable, esp in the dark..

but yeah, her face is pretty whack and hella shopped in that maxim

>__

Ahahaha, Jake doesn't realize there are such things as candid shots and tv/video where shoppin' isn't commonplace.

I wouldn't say she has just average (especially American ) body. Go to Wal-Mart and tell me if that's the average body you see...
Photoshop, gareman.
You couldn't photoshop 95% or more of American women's bodies to look anywhere near that good. Unless you like fat bitches I guess.

definitely not ugly, if she really was that ugly she wouldn't be in the movie. same goes for kirsten dunst, sarah jessica parker, etc.

i don't find her that attractive but there is a big difference between that and ugly

i know a guy that is adamant that amy smart is unredeemably hideous. it blows my mind

Ok I saw it for the second time.

Somethings that still bother me

-When Fox enters Low's (?) building, the guy tells him to check his cell phone.

-During the meeting between him and the guy, his cell phone goes off.

-When Fox leaves the building he has to check his phone again and this time he leaves it at the security station.

So did FOX have 3 phones on him when entering the building? One he checked going in, the one he surrendered going out and the 3rd he showed Bruce outside.

Still can't believe joker's men got so close to the mayor..even closer to become part of the guards that shot in the air. Someone in the GCPD fucked up big time to allow that to happen.

Joker was still able to get away, despite being surrounded by all those cops.

Who was shooting still in the background when Harvey went to confront the other guy in the ambulance?

Where do you get 3 phones?

He leaves the sonar one in with security, and has the other one he shows the Chinese guy. They never take that one away.

Ok, when Fox leaves the building he sticks out his phone to show the security officer, but then the next scene you see the officer take the phone and put it into the clear container. The scene where fox sticks it out makes you think he is walking off with it, but the next scene it shows the officer putting it away. There is no other phone until later that night where the phone jams everything and there IS another phone next to it.

Just wondering who was calling during the meeting?

He shows the security guard the same phone that he showed the Chinese guy so it would confuse him into thinking it wasn't his phone and put it back in the drawer.

It's not that hard to understand.

Are you serious?

Fox checks the sonar phone in with security before the meeting, and keeps his real phone in his pocket. After the meeting, security attempts to give the sonar phone back, but he shows them that he still has his actual phone on him. Security then puts the sonar phone back in the draw. :dunce:

No, he gave them the sonar phone on his way into the meeting. He kept his real phone which went off during the meeting.

On his way out the guard grabbed the sonar phone out of the drawer to give back to Fox, Fox showed him he had his phone. The guard then put the sonar phone back in the drawer.

#-o

I was paying too much attention to Fox's hand vs the security officer.

No all wrong watch it again
He gives a phone to security, then one rings in the meeting. The one in the meeting is the sonar phone because it takes an image of the room. Also he shuts it off then presses another button and sits it on the table. On the way out security goes to give him his phone back. He takes the sonar phone out and says he already has his(might not be the line but he tells him he has his phone). Later the phone in the clear drawer starts to go off then so does the power.

Yeah,
the phone that the security guard keeps is some kinda EMP generator or something, it kills the power in the place when it rings.
