ha naw, ghost1914 got his panties in a bunch saying we shouldn't talk about the order in this thread.

And I just think the order isn't gonna be a great as everyone thinks but like I said I'm looking forward to the reviews.
Lol well this isn't a general discussion thread and this subject is already being discussed in the collectors thread hence my original comment. And your reply made no sense due to if it was going to flop that would mean best buy would need to add incentives to get people to buy it. If anything your post should have been in the general weekly ad thread if anywhere.

like I said I thought the order was a game that had a 10 dollar cert, and have seen others talking about it in here.

And no best buy usually doesn't attach 10 dollar certs to crap games (not saying the order is crap). It's all based on games with high demand, big franchises or have alot of hype around them (like the order has, I really could've sworn it had a cert). Customer's request which games they want certs for on the forums and based on the demand for it they decide to do it or not. If you look at what's currently there none should be flops (Well maybe Hardline but BF carries a big name)

And I was just joking about best buy thinking it's gonna be a flop, hense the :p but I don't think the order is gonna be one of the epic sony titles like last of us or uncharted and that's gonna lead to some disappointed gamers. I just think with all the hype behind the order it's gonna have the same problems watch dogs, titanfall and destiny had (I liked all three games but most felt disappointed with the final product because it wasn't what they expected/promised).

I dont think thats how it works, I remember someone saying the pub has to approve the deal?? (I could be wrong) Its just strange that a lot of Sony and Nintendo games never get added to these promos.

I don't remember there being much hype for Wolfenstein: The New Order yet Best Buy increased the certificate value for that title to $20, which probably affected sales.

I can't find the post now on their forums but it was titled something like "it's that time of the year again" in Jan asking for suggestions on which games people want certs with and yea I'm sure other aspects are involved but that would get the ball rolling. And yea Nintendo prob wouldn't let that happen, there should be alot more Nintendo games if it was based on demand alone and if it was up to only best buy in the decision. And Sony idk I'm real surprised The order nor bloodborne are getting one. It just seems like the Multi-platform games have been getting certs lately.

true but if games that needed help with sales only get certs then why didn't lords of fallen get one while MCC, Duty, Unity, Far Cry, GTAV and Sunset come with them. Games that don't a cert to sell and came out around same time.

It would make more sense to include the certs with games that might not sell as well but that usually isn't the case.

I'm pretty sure Bethesda was involved in getting that certificate amount increase.

yea I don't think these certs are solely best buys decision but it's gotta start somewhere.

Look at mortal kombat, Everyone starting asking for a cert with it on their forums. Best buy took notice saw there was a demand for it and most likely talked to warner bros about doing the promotion.

That's just an assumption but It doesn't seem like BB attaches certs to games just to boost sales on non AAA titles. And remember these certs are in best buy's best interest. When you get a 10 dollar cert they know you're gonna come to their store/place anther order online and spend it on something (most likely anther $60 game). It's for repeated purchases so in the end the better the game that has a cert the more sales Best buy will have.

I'll bet that the certs are mostly tied to certain bonuses (or similar incentives) publishers give Best Buy based on selling a certain volume.  You'll notice that there are no first party Sony or Nintendo titles that show up on the cert list and I would imagine it's because those companies don't incentivize Best Buy to do so.

The Best Buy employees in forums have hinted that the certs are tied to reasons like this.

so based on pre-orders hitting a certain number? Which makes sense, it's a way to gauge the demand on each game on paper.

Makes me think that rainbow six will end up with a cert if that's the case (and pending the publisher plays ball). Seems like alot of people placed a preorder on that.

I would be comfortable betting $100 on rainbow six getting added lol. Just about every big ubi title has been on the list.

I think my first two purchases (now that I have GCU) will be Mortal Kombat X and the Saints Row:GAT for the PS4. Would you guys say those are both greats deals?

BB offered a RZ cert for MK9 so MKX is no surprise.

As for 1st party titles I believe TLoU was also offering a RZ cert for preorders as well. But that was an exception.

yes, SR4 for PS4 is great I bought it at launch and replayed it, the gat out of hell DLC is digital so you can finish the main game, trade it in, and play gat on your own time anytime down the road (disc not needed). For xbox one GAT is on the disc.

There was a $10 cert for Sunset Overdrive, and there will be for Halo 5. Which are both very much first-party.

I didn't particularly feel like searching through the whole thread for this question, but when it comes to preorder I've noticed some have free express shipping and others don't. For those who've done it a lot, is the free standard shipping decent enough where you won't have to wait particularly long to get your game?

I'd say on release day or the day after. The longest I've waited was the Friday of release week. It all depends where the shipping warehouse is compared to your location though. They have multiple warehouse around the US. Also you want to preorder well in advanced. You can't preorder 2-4 days before release and be upset because you didn't get the game on the day it's released. Typically I like to preorder at least a month in advanced. My preorders normally ship on the Thursday before release and come on release day. Once I've actually had it delivered a day early.

Are these $10 certificates going to be available within a week from now on cuz I've been getting them in just a couple of days. If that's the case, I'll go ahead and pre order BF hardline and use that $10 cert on BL handsome collectionwhich comes out literally a week after BF hardline

It depends but it is usually within 15 days. Seems like the more ahead you pre-order the sooner you'll get your cert.

I still haven't gotten my evolve cert and it's been a week (preordered the sat. before it released).

So the Collector's Edition of ESO is sold out for Xbox One, and PS4 says coming soon.  Is it really coming soon, or is it most likely sold out as well?

So I paid The Order 1886 with a gift card and gift certificate, how would my refund be processed if I cancel it? I would rather get Bloodborne day one instead of The Order now.

If you still have the gift card you used, the balance would return to that card. If you don't, you'll have to call 1-888-BESTBUY to have them send a new gift card for the amount you paid.

Regardless of the gift card, the certificate would be refunded to your account in points (e.g., if you used a $10 certificate, you'll get 500 points back) within a few business days.

I hope Best Buy has a midnight launch for MKX. If not, I'm probably going to just go digital since I don't want to wait until 10am to play or deal with the hassle of buying somewhere at midnight then returning the Best Buy unopened copy.

Its between Mortal Kombat X and Battlefield Hardline, just not sure which one to pre order and for what system(Since I have both the XBOX ONE and PS4) I have the 10 dollar gift card from when I bought monster hunter 3ds so I can use it towards this purchase

For anyone that ordered the CE of ESO. I ordered it like a year ago. Should I cancel, and reorder the new edition or just let it be?

Pretty sure they never reopened preorders after the initial preorders a year ago, so you should definitely keep it. I think my credit card expiration date needs to be changed, so hopefully they contact me before cancelling.

I cancelled mine after the lackluster pc released. i was expecting a huge boost in visual fidelity and innovative mmo gameplay which ESO lacks. I think your time will be better spent playing the witcher 3.

I actually got my cert for pre ordering evolve the night before the release instore. Not sure if you get it faster instore or online. I got the $10 cert within a week for dying light too and I pre ordered 2 weeks before release instore.

Thanks for this info man. I just recently purchased GCU (finally!) and want my first purchase to be the Mortal Kombat X (ps4) preorder, or possibly pay $32 for Saints Row:GAT. Price is nice with GCU and I believe that if I preorder it for in-store pickup that I'll be able to pick it up the day of release, is that a definite? I feel like getting it shipped would delay me playing this and I'm too hyped up for MK:X to wait heh.

Also, anyone know if they're doing the same $10 Rewards things for Dragon Ball Z Xenoverse (ps4)? If not, I'd much rather wait instead of get a larger backlog, and eventually hopefully pay less for it :whistle2:D

Since I'm new to the whole "my best buy/GCU" thing in general, I assume that when I preorder MK:X, I'll pay the $48+tax online with my CC and my account will be credited the $10? I can use the reward towards anything in the future?

I'm on my crappy phone so apologies if any of this has already been answered :X I'm assuming that I'm a "my best buy" customer since they linked my GCU to my cell # & email address in store...I'm so grateful to all of the people here that posted how great GCU is, it really does seem to be incredible..
<3 you OP & fellow gamers!

Niiiice, I should be able to get the plat this weekend and then trade it in for $44 on Monday.
nice thing is 1886 plat doesn't look like it requires multiple playthroughs, there is no trophy that requires finishing the game on hard/nightmare/etc, a single playthrough on normal and you can chapter select to mop up all the collection and weapon trophies.

Unfortunately the steelbook looks like its the only case so if you wanna trade in either trade in the steelbook, disc only (some BBYs balk at this) or make your own case!

If you buy the Collector's Edition of a game (The Order in this case) I guess you can't end up price adjusting it down the road if the regular version goes on sale?

I'm guessing no, but I figured I'd ask anyway.

Any news of a fightstick for MK X?  or compatable with PS3 sticks?  I'm considering cancelling my day 1 purchase if they don't add support for ps3 sticks.  That's just lazy and insulting to us fighting gamers.  At least the skullgirls developers are on board with their ps4 project.  They even said they'd share the driver code, hence my frustration if other developers don't get with the program.  Maybe I'm of the minority in this.

If the disc from the CE is actually even slightly different from the normal version like how dragon age deluxe edition had some numbers on it, then I might not trade it in

So I bought evolve and got the 10 dollars in rewards certificate but havent opened it yet. If I return it, will they deduct the 500 points from my rewards account... or will they give me back the original cost minus 10 dollars?

They will take 500 points from your account. You will get refunded what you originally paid.

Both versions are going to be 60FPS. PS version is heavily hinted at having a console exclusive character Sweet Tooth because of Ed Boon's tweets.
