Think it all depends how the store handles the situation. If they do an even exchange, you should be good. If they actually return it, you might lose the Cert.

Edit: The more I think about it. If you just go into the store and buy the version you want. And just return the copy you got with a preorder, you should be good. From what other people have said before and my own experiences, as long as you preorder the game before release and purchase a copy of the game the week it's released , you have participated in the promo. It may take the full 15 days to get your Cert. And if you still don't get the Cert, call or goto the Unboxed forums and they will get the Cert to you.

The bonus points are tied to the purchase of the game, so if that game is returned then the bonus points are forfeit.

hmm worth a shot, I'll try when I pick it up tomorrow but knowing my best buy it won't work out.

I know that has gotta be an error (sure it was with evolve as well) why would they give you premium for free when it's 50 bucks. It doesn't say for free but it does say receive which does imply it. Won't hurt to ask, worse they can say is no.

Edit: but to the right it clearly says save $5 off premium when you purchase the game as well. Evolve didn't say that on the game page but it was in the add. Unless they miss that I don't see it happening. Still worth a shot lol

I see that it says in store only, might try and grab a copy on the shelf and get them to do it. The one that says $5 off premium mentions adding to cart so might be able to argue the $5 off is for online orders and the "free" premium is in store only.

I have a pre order set for in store pickup, if I don't pick it up it should get refunded to my account right(used certs/a giftcard for most of the purchase)? I know I'll miss out on the pre order cert but well worth it for premium. If it doesn't work will be a little awkward picking up the pre order copy but fuck it lol. I don't think they can/will add it to my in store pick up order so I think I'll try it with a copy on the floor first.

and besides, I feel like they SHOULD honor that. When you say "receive" something, it literally sounds like you're going to give me something in exchange for purchasing a product. If they don't mean for it to come across that way, it should read like, "pick up the Premium pass for $50 when you purchase Battlefield Hardline", so that way there is zero confusion.

but seeing as how this only applies to the X1 version of the game, this could very well be a legit offer. Getting $5 off the Premium pass would only apply for the PS4 version in this instance.

naw I know you get charged right away for in store pick up. The certs are no longer in my account and they already took the money out of my paypal account ($6 paypal, $25 in certs and a $18 something gift card)

Maybe but it clearly shows the xbone version of the season pass on the game page for the $5 off and the receive it for "free" offer. Again it is worth a shot I think it is gonna depend on who you are dealing with.

Not sure if I want to stay up until 10 (play evolve all night lol) or goto sleep now, would like to try as earlier as possible.

You can have an employee cancel the pickup for you instore tomorrow so you dont have to wait 7 days for it to auto cancel. I've done it before.

true I might try the in store purchase with the "free" pass and grab the pre order in store pick up within a few days as long as the trade in is above $42.

For anyone that got the evolve season pass, did you just go straight to the customer service desk to get an override? Or was their season pass cards on the floor/have to get a print out with the digital box or whatever and take that to a regular checkout and show them the offer?

ok nice if the in store purchase with a free pass works might do that, but also thinking about just getting it and trading it in if the value is high. would rather have a GC than the certs that do expire in a few months.

Can I get on this if I have the xbox version pre ordered, which I did? Can they just add it for free or will I have to do a return/rebuy? I didn't get on the evolve deal so I'm not sure how this works
 
You know, it sounds like this one might be fun since its different than other battlefields but I feel like this will likely hit 39.99 soon so can be had for 31.99

Shit, I literally just got home from bb after picking it up with store pickup. I was planning on checking cag before I left but had to do something else.
 
Success in a couple minutes. Its been forever so far but they finally agreed on free after initially offering either $22.50 or $25.

They called a bunch of people and ended up price matching it to $0 so I'm happy.

Sadly that sounds like it needs an override. The manager at my local BB is pretty tough to get to do anything that requires an override.
 
I've tried preordering BF: Hardline the past couple of days with my account, and was not able to add it to the cart. I tried adding other games and I get the same results...Is this some kind of ban that occurred to my GCU membership? I don't remember ever going over the limit in purchases.

 
I was denied at my store by the manager. He said it was a error as it was suppose to be only $5 of premium and not free. Good luck to the rest of you.

 
Yesterday I cancelled an order on which I had used $35 in reward certificates. Today I get a $10 certificate on my account. I should be getting the whole amount back, right? Starting to get a bit worried about it.

 
Success at mine but it required an override. The clerk even tried exchanging the online instore pick up copy to see if it would bundle out if bought together, it did not. Luckily the staff there is really helpful, nice and I'm always polite and patient so things worked out.

Happened to me. You have to clear your internet cache and delete your cookies to resolve the issue.
 
Question, sorry if this was answered already. I'm assuming if the game was pre-ordered and then returned they take away the $10 bonus from your account correct?
 
Is the Mortal Kombat: X Kollectors Edition worth the $130 price tag? It would be my first purchase with GCU, but I *still* can't figure out if it includes the actual season pass or some other nonsense (PS4)...?

Not that I know of. However, sometimes when the certs that are given back are expired after its usage. They send a promo code of that value to your email with a new expiration rather than give back points or certs on the website. Check there first. If you do not see anything. Call customer service for help.
