The Two for $20 deal is already going on right now in-store and on-line, I believe.

Yes, you're correct. There are more titles to choose from than what they
show in the ad as well. Link here
Time to price match this over at Target to try and get the Iron Man 2 steelbook for 21.99.
That *might* be pushing it because that's a target exclusive... it all depends on CSR.

still haven't re-upped the Wal-Mart.com order deal with e-credit. doorbuster here would only be a little more, but RZ points (even though it doesn't make it up..) gwahhhhhh what to do!?!

Who would have thought I'm going to Target to get IM2. Love those steelbooks, or this case should I say "IronBook" tee hee hee
very YMMW on price matching door buster prices for IM2.
I see it all of the time and don't know the meaning of the acronym. Thanks

Your mileage may vary -- as in, it worked for me, but it might not work depending on your city/store/clerk/zodiac sign/etc.

For the record, I believe it's The Incredible Hulk (starring Ed Norton) that's part of the deal, not Hulk (starring Eric Bana).
Has anyone successfully tried price matching against Target exclusives?
Yup, I pmed Frys prices for the New Moon Ultimate version. Best way to do is buy the exclusive version, go back the next day with your receipt and ad. they'll gladly pm w/o issue.

The only trick with this one is it's a 2 hour sale. Going back the next day increases the odds even more of a decline since the sale is over, regardless of the time of day you bought it. Since my Target and BB are about 3 blocks apart, I'm gonna try the PM around 10am, and if I get shot down, I'll just go ahead and get it at BB for the cheaper price. I'd like the steelbook, but I only have a handful, like 2 or 3 in my whole collection, so it's not gonna kill me. I just love the movie.
question: so if we print out a $10 RZ cert. and we only use $5 for example, where does the leftover go?
Won't work. It'll get denied. I tried printing a $20 for a 19.99 item and had to go grab a coke out of the fridge to put me over $20. It works pre-tax, so your item has to be atleast that amount of your cert. There is no change given back, or unused amount like a giftcard. I'd say from now on, just just print them in $5 increments, or bank them if you got premier silver until you know you want to use them for something.

You've got to be kidding me, right? That is a target exclusive and there is no way in hell Target will price match that. You are just outright trying to be a thief and it is disgusting.

Lol? What concern is it of yours? If Target allows it, fair game. I know I'll be trying the same thing for the lulz.

Lighten up, Francis. Take your holier than thou morals to the deal discussions morals topic, or stick 'em where the sun don't shine, your choice. But pipe down with the bullshit thief namecalling here. It's the same movie, same combo, just comes in a different outer case. Get the fuck over it with the baby mama drama.

i still bought the pricing error of IRON MAN 2 @ Walmart for 16.xx shipped! Im not a fan of steelbook/ironpack. IM2 at walmart comes with 3 discs... BLU,DVD and DC... That's a steal for $16.xx.

Good Lord.

What is Target doing to you? Charging you $40 for IM2 in a special case?

Get this...Target isn't doing ANYTHING to you. They aren't forcing you to buy a special edition. If you want the single disc buy it. If you want the 3 disc buy it. If you want to pay a ridiculous price for the ironbook....wait for it...buy it. Nobody is forcing you.

I don't care if anyone tries to PM, that is their choice. If Target lets you, more power to you. But don't act like Target is screwing you over by charging what they deem appropriate. If you don't like it don't fricking buy it. But please don't try to rationalize your actions with some ridiculous notion that Target is screwing YOU over.

Knew it was just a matter of time before I got blaster for my "IMO"

Never seen people get sooooooo pissed of over a harmless opinion. All I was trying to say is that for people wanting this exclusive, Target has us by the short and curlies and they know it. They should be at least a little competitive with Best Buy, Walmart, etc. And yes, yes, yes I know that it is their exclusive and they don't need to and yes, yes, yes I know that if I don't want to spend that much money then I shouldn't buy it.

LOL I'm trying to give Target 21.99 for a damn movie, I'm not trying the steal anything. If they do, I'm lucky, if they don't, no sweat, I go a block down to Best Buy and give them my money instead. All I'm saying is it's worth a shot. I thought that's what this site was all about, finding the best deals. A pretty good chunk of the deals on here are YMMV, and what I suggested is obviously that as well. By your logic you should go rag on all the penny guide threads since those are supposed to be destroyed or sent back to the manufacturer, not given out for free basically. Or the coupons that give people free games even though the coupons specifically state they can't be used on sale items, even though the computer allows the transaction. Target's computer system allows for price matching of competitors, and even though the box this comes in is different, the product is the same inside, and it's the stores discretion to allow it. I can understand trying to get a 3 disc set for the price of a single would be wrong because the actual content isn't the same, but this is basically just the cover artwork and packaging that's different, nothing more.

If you think asking a store to price match a similar item is theft then I hope you avoid a career in law... by your definition, I likely committed grand larceny when I had the gall to ask a car dealership to match a similar car from another dealership. The consumer has every right to ask for a lower price and the retailer has every right to deny it. If people were talking about switching UPCs or other actions, than I think you would have a moral leg to stand on, but as for your comments on the subject:

"...what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your ... incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."
What if Target Exclusive matches Combo Pack's UPC #? ;)
That will be highly unlikely...

I have ragged on people here for trying to swindle/thieve businesses just like you are going to try to do. Secondly this is an exclusive, no other stores carry this case and you know it, yet you are going to try to swindle Target and you know it's wrong and everyone else knows it is wrong yet you are trying to justify it to yourself, lol? It is the same movie yes, but in a different packaging that happens to be cost more and is a limited item therefore it will be a higher price, deal with it and don't try to be a thief.

I can guarantee to any of you who even think about asking for a price match, you will flat out get refused by Target employees.

This is not a similar item, it is a limited quantity/exclusive package to Target..Keep on justifying your idiocy and thievery.

Did you also do this when people were matching the Steelbook Exclusives over at BB when Target/Walmart had them for cheap (Pirates movies, Nightmare, Pixars)? I am just curious since I remember a lot of places going ahead and PMing the add for the steels. Last time I checked they are not banned so its not stealing.

But please continue to sit on your horse and judge everyone. I have a feeling it won't work but that doesn't mean people can't try. If they get a great deal then outstanding. If they don't then they just get the cool limited package or they can go over to Best Buy and get the item there for cheaper.
