I think this game is a decent buy for $10 if you like military shooters. The campaign was a lot more enjoyable than Battlefield 3, though not quite up to the standard of the Bad Company or Call of Duty games. I'm actually kind of looking forward to the further adventures of Voodoo and Mother whenever Warfighter gets down to the $10 range. :)

Like others said, the campaign was short, but it did have a few battles that were pretty intense. I thought it was gonna be a whole lot worse, but I enjoyed it more than I expected.
The fact is most of our wars are with people in the Middle East for various reasons, one of which is that "they" hate the American way of life and kill Americans! Hello McFly!!
Lol, looks like we've got one of those inbred hillbillies right here.

Anyone saying this game is worth playing is too cheap for their own good. Its probably the worst FPS of this gen. Maybe not worse than Bodycount, I dunno.
Some people seem to be unable to separate their perception of the game's politics from the gameplay.

I don't remember Frontline being particularly warm and sensitive to the Nazis or the Germans in general, but I do remember it glorifying the role of the Allied forces - so I'm not sure why it doesn't qualify for the same criticism.
The Nazis were legitimately evil and we were not in Europe targeting civilians. We helped a lot of countries out there. The old MOH games didn't glorify war so much as they entrenched you in a story that paralleled the war around you.

Our armed forces have killed well over 3 million civilians in Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan. If that doesn't sound like much to you, I don't even know what to say. These weren't accidents, these were people targeted because of how they look and dress. That's why I take a little offense to destroying an entire city in the game, even if they tell me its 100% Taliban.

As you can see from the other reply, we actually have people in the US ignorant enough to think that the entire middle east are terrorists.

Yes, there are people who may be ignorant and believe that all middle easterners are terrorists, but you just did the same thing for the Germans. Do you think all Germans were Nazis? Do you think they were all killers? Just because a video game chooses a villain or group of villains does not mean it is a political statement about some ethnicity or nationality.

Also, I am sure that, unlike other wars, no innocent Germans were harmed during WWII.

Lastly, I don't know whether your 3 million civilian number is true, but there is no way you can assert that all of them were killed by our military simply for being middle eastern. Have there been horrible instances of racism? Yes and it is sad. But for you to paint such a broad brush of the US military is pretty horrific. Also, many of the enemies we fight are responsible for the deaths of their own fellow countrymen. How many mass graves have we uncovered that Saddam Hussein was responsible for? Are the Taliban just a misunderstood, compassionate, upstanding group of people? Isn't the Syrian government killing their own citizens? I am not justifying any war or murder or abuse in this comment, but for you to say that Medal of Honor is bad simply for the enemy it chose it shortsighted.

By your logic, we could never have any war video game because some group of innocents would be lumped in with the bad guys.
Some people seem to be unable to separate their perception of the game's politics from the gameplay. I played the SP, and while I remember one bad glitch, it certainly didn't qualify for "atrocious."

I particularly like how this sentence makes a sweeping generalization to condemn those that make sweeping generalizations:
"The entire SP is borderline disgusting if you're not an inbred redneck that thinks every country in the middle east is 100% taliban."
You must be from the middle east to get offended from video games so easily because it is just a video game. Oh and if you think that is racist than I would avoid games like battlefied 3 and call of duty and every other war game that involves killing middle easterners, which is pretty much every war game to date. I'm pretty sure a few countries banned COD AND BF3 and some other war games, so yeah... Might want to steer clear of those
No problem. I don't mean to get worked up, but its seriously a pretty offensive game. I was floored when I saw it actually getting decent reviews with rarely even a mention of how over the top racist and cold it is.

I was really excited to have a new MOH, and especially a game that was supposedly going to treat the enemy and the US forces as real people. It was all BS. Aside from being completely pro American, its just poorly made, with invisible walls in every direction for most levels, and crazy glitches. The salute to our armed forces after the credits honestly made me sick to my stomach, and I am absolutely proud to be American. Just a very weird experience made for a extremely specific audience.
and no German civilians were killed in WW2? Take a history class one day. the US and Britian bombed the hell out of German towns and cities to get them to surrender. Over two million in civilian casualties. and no idea where you get the three million civilians killed in the middle east.

I'm not sure if you're actually being serious here, but its pretty different. I'm sure civilians died in Nazi Germany, but we didn't target them the way we are in the middle east. They were a military power in uniform, not just a few thousand dudes living on the outskirts of society.

There are probably less than 10,000 members of Al Qaeda and Taliban combined, and we have killed over 3 million people over there. We have lost far less than a tenth of that number, so no, it isn't retaliation for killing our countrymen. Its a fairly systematic issue of murdering anyone they feel is too close for comfort.

I'm not saying fighting in Afghanistan in the game is wrong, hell I bought it near launch. I just think scenes like destroying the village while Linkin Park blares from the speakers and your in game teammates are laughing it up are just disgusting no matter how you frame it.

Beyond that, the gameplay is fucking hilariously bad, so im not sure why anyone wants to have this conversation.
no idea where you get the three million civilians killed in the middle east.
These numbers are fairly publicized if you read the news much. Within the first 5 years we had killed 1.8 million civs, so it has slowed down due to pressure from their governments, but its still completely out of line, and far, far beyond the innocent casualties in any other war we have been a part of.

And for the retard above this guy, i'm white. You don't have to be middle eastern to think killing civilians during a combat operation is wrong.

Hopefully most of the murderers won't make it back here in one piece, we have already had hundreds of murders tied to service men after returning from duty. Several of them were kids that got killed. I wonder where they picked up the habit.

I don't think you read my entire comment. just in WW2, there were between 1.8 and 3 million German civilian casualties. Just in Germany. then in the Korean war, there were 1.5 million civilian casualties. 1.8 isn't exactly far far beyond that.

Why do you assume we are targeting civilians just because civilians have died? You are the one who stereotyping. You accuse Americans and the US Military of killing because of ethnicity, but you are just grouping people into a group that fits your way of thinking when you do that which is not much different than you accuse others of doing.

I do agree that war should not be over-glorified, but I also think that you can have fun with the concept of war without trying to turn it into an educational or moral exercise. People should be able to seperate reality from art or entertainment. It is not the responsiblity of a game maker to judge when people can or cannot do that.

As for the gameplay, I somewhat enjoyed it. But what do I know. I am just an ignorant fool who thinks all Arabic people hide bombs in their shirts. :)

Quite frankly, I don't pay attention to the story or even the setting that much in shooters and barely even remember it being about middle eastern people. When I play a shooter, I am just trying to kill the bad guys.

When they introduce a game that is focused on killing middle easterners because of their ethnicity and not because they are the bad guys who happen to be middle eastern, I will be right there agreeing with you on it being a horrible game.

All you guys can shove your soap boxes up there while you are at it.

I bit on it, hopefully I get my $10 worth out of it - not sure if I'll touch the MP though.

I actually like the Medal of Honor game, the campaign was fun and what little I did play of the MP was good. Definitely giving the next one a chance too.

It's not worth going into details when a mod will delete all this soon, so I'll keep this short:
- implying Taliban not evil? Suggest looking up what they've done to the Afghan people, not to mention harboring a known terrorist group (Al Qaeda and UBL) leading up to 9/11.
- what evidence for targeting civilians in Afghanistan, other than isolated criminal incidents (Bales)? As for Europe, if you don't think attacks were executed with little regard for civilian life, if not targeting, look up Dresden.
- don't know about your 3 million number, but I wouldn't accuse "rednecks" of painting the Middle East with a broad brush and then conflate Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran. This game is about Afghanistan. UN figures show 3,100 civilian deaths by pro-government forces from 2007-2011 (vs. 8,500 by anti-government forces). Don't have the figures for 2001-2006, but I'm confident it's orders of magnitude under even 1 million.

I don't know how you quantify "much" but the population is 30 million. Watch any documentary about the war and you'll see that one of the challenges is the Taliban forces look and dress like the civilians. If we targeted people "because of how they look and dress," there would hardly be anyone left in Afghanistan.

I'd suggest some education, like this:
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/10/world/asia/10afghanistan.html
but then again, the NY Times are a bunch of rednecks, right?

Maybe it's because they missed the other sale...? Plus not everyone has access to a time machine like you do.

Maybe if you stop mentioning deals from the year 2000 other posters would stop posting that saying.

Gee. That's SO original. No wait, it's not. Thanks for the comment there, confoosious jr.;)

I keep saying it, but MoH was a great fun war shooter. Enjoyed it for being CoD but without the try-hard lingo-spam of the MW games or the bullcrap difficulty of each game's ridiculous set piece battle. Enjoyed how tonally it portrayed the military as a bunch of professionals. Was a little almost too dry and sedate but I enjoyed it.

I think the score attack mode was a little poorly done, with no ability to skip the scripted bits, but I really enjoyed it.

Plus if playing it pisses off people like Mr. 3 Million, then hey, that's a huge plus.

That's why I'd probably play that Matt Hazard game for PS3 before I play another MW or Battlefield game. Albeit I liked the humor in the first Bad Company game, but the second one was more serious imo than the first, which turned me off even finishing the title.:whistle2:#

:applause:People often forget that games are about having fun and everything doesn't have to be taken so serious. I don't care about the politics of the world when playing a game or how factually correct a game or game world is as long as I'm having fun playing it.;)

I hated Bad Company. It was funny, but I got to my breaking point when it was obvious the AI wasn't actually AI and I just got aggravated and quit.. At one point, I was behind a building, and no matter where I was behind it, the computer gunner would track me and take me down as soon as I stepped away, from either side. Bullshit, unless that guy had xray vision...

Don't do it! That Matt Hazard game was just bad...not funny bad, just bad.

I second the thoughts on MOH as being a good gaming experience. Those that rate it well below COD don't know what they're talking about.
Got my looney tunes blu ray today. Didnt know a 52 page artbook was in the collection so that made this purchase that more sweeter :)
Mine technically came in yesterday, but I didn't check the mail until this morning :)

The Matt Hazard game, I... I don't even remember if I beat it. It certainly wasn't good. I think I rage quit at the sniper boss level nonsense and just youtubed the rest of the game. It's not especially funny... not BAD but it isn't really worth a lot of laughs.

That's a pretty terrible sale. Really, really bad. The Condemned is the only one I've heard of. As a rule, I don't buy movies starring wrestlers not named "The Rock" and even then it's only after careful consideration and a rental first.

Condemned is worse than The Marine with whatever wrestler was in that one. And The Marine was TERRIBLE, this was the movie:

*Bad acting* *EXPLOSION!* *More bad acting* *MORE EXPLOSIONS*

The Condemned is kinda sorta like Battle Royale. Just more American. And has Stone Cold Steve Austin, and since I grew up watching the guy he made it cool. It's a decent movie for 5 bucks on blu.

I saw the Condemned when it came out in the theater. Was a decent movie. I go with the old Blockbuster rule on stuff. If you haven't seen it, spend the $5 and check it out. If you HAVE seen it then you probably know if you want it or not.

EDIT: PS Stone Cold was actually half way decent acting.

the condemned is nothing to brag about but it can be worth 5 bucks because I've seen worse movies get sold for more. Angel Heart is one of Mickey Rourke best films. I just ordered Angel Heart...Out of all those movies i would highly recommend Angle Heart especially for 5 bucks

Angel Heart and Bad Lieutenant are both excellent movies. I'd strongly recommend either of these to anyone with a taste for gritty and disturbing films.
