Oh, come on now... Brink wasn't THAT bad. The majority of people are demonizing it like it's Superman 64, but it's actually not that bad...

Assuming you can find people online to play with, that is.

As others have said, yeah... the ally A.I. is atrocious until the last 5 minutes of the match, but trying to 1250/1250 GS the game is possible. I've done it. It was worth it at $10, and is a steal at $5. The customization alone is awesome. I had quite a bit of fun with it, and Engineers are fantastic with their turrets for solo play.

I agree, I picked this up for 360 a few months back, found a group of people online to play with and had a pretty damn fun couple weeks... Id say for $5 if you and some friends nab it, its worth the attention for a weekend or 2, i mean, its the price of a rental.......

Besides, its nowhere near as bad as Duke Nukem Forever.....

you can set the bots to easy and explore the maps in private matches, but you cant turn off the objectives for said maps. Even with the bots, its a fun way to kill a weekend and get some cheevo's or trophies.....

This. I picked it up around the holidays last year for $5 (along with $5 Duke Nukem) during BB's massive video game spree. Worst $10 I ever spent. Fortunately, after selling them on Amazon, I still came ahead a few bucks.

The problem is that some of us had such high hopes for this game (many even bought it day 1). When it released it WAS Superman 64 bad. Many patches later it's playable but most people don't care and the community has all but vanished. No community in a *basically* multiplayer only game is a death sentence. I'll say that even after the patches and fixes the balance issues are still present.

I bought this for 5 last year and played it offline during a deployment and thought it was well worth the price. Yes, I would have been pissed if I had paid 30+, because it doesn't feel like a complete game, but I didn't have high expectations after reading the reviews. I'll play most games at this price point.

It was like a more interesting version of team fortress imo. Online community may suck, I don't know, but at this price a group of your friends can easily get into it without risking so much money. A lot of the guys I work with are trying out warhawk this next patrol for the same reason.

Fortunately for me I couldn't afford it when it came out so I dodged that bullet. Several games I was really anticipating turned out to be really bad. So, I've gone to the wait and see model for most games. Borderlands 2 and Dishonored are my 2 exceptions. I just hope Dishonored doesn't burn me like Brink did you.

I'm really looking forward to Borderlands 2 and Dishonored as well, I have no doubt the Borderlands 2 will be amazing, probably GOTY, Dishonored looks amazing as well, but Bethesda has already fooled me once. If I had the spare cash right now I would preorder both at BB. \

That's exactly what I did. I'm going to keep a close watch for reviews on Dishonored so I can cancel my pre-order if I need to. (However, if it's bad maybe I'll take my Giftcard, trade it back in, and wait for the fast price drop to profit off the whole deal with a price match)

I hold the same feelings about the game you guys. I even regret giving one of my friends the Brink Gamer coupon last which he ended up buying. He said the PC version required him to look for fixes just to start the game and he said barely anyone was online playing the game.

Expire ? I haven't received any of mine yet as they were all preorders, and they are still promoting the 10$ on the website so I would find it hard to believe the codes expire on a specific date.

The codes don't expire today. The offer does however end today. So if you can't pick-up your items today you won't get the credit. I believe the credits expire in 30 days from today but I can't remember I already spent mine.

EDIT: Looked it up (something the other guy could have done...) it expires 30 days from the end of month your pick-up was in. So, August pick up coupons will expire at the end of sept.

The second batch of $10 codes expire today 8-31. The first expired 7-30, the newest (3rd) batch expire 9-30.

Orders placed in June expired on 7/30, July on 8/31, and in August on 9/30.

You can, however, put the $10 codes onto Gift cards or Pitch-in Cards to make them last as long as you want.

Still confused. Does Brink have any kind of a single-player campaign? Is it just a bunch of maps (the same maps used in multiplayer) but with NPCs/AI enemies, and you progress when you've eliminated all enemies, like team deathmatch?

Sorry, I read some posts here and skimmed a couple of reviews, even watched some of the GameSpot review, but they didn't seem to address this simple question up front.

PS3 version got an emphatic nod from Digital Foundry, but if there's basically nothing to the game *but* multiplayer and the PS3 community is dead, that argues for the 360.

I realize this is like a turd beauty contest but bear with me.

Brink was a blast played with a few friends rather than all randoms. Neverdead was mediocre but not horrid. Duke was bad, but its failure was compounded heavily by the hype train it could never hope to live up to.
