I've never played a Kingdom Hearts game or really any RPG.

Though I played the Fire Emblem Awakening demo and liked enough that I ordered it yesterday on Best Buys website.

Would I like this game?
It really isn't an RPG per se, just an action game (or to a lesser degree hack and slash) game with RPG elements.
Picked up a copy for 0.11 after $10 RZC and a clearanced folder that was 0.12. Excited to play some KH since the last one I played was 2.
fuck, ordered mine online, used my $10 certificate from long ago (buy something $10 or more, get a $10 RZ certificate), and couldn't find anything less than a $1.00. Ended up buying some soothing sounds CD as a filler item. Oh well, can't complain, only cost me ~$1 out of pocket. Good stuff.

Just so I'm clear, this is how the deal turned out:

- The deal goes live 90 minutes before the website states that it will.
- Sells out almost immediately because BB purposely held back stock.
- I go to sleep at 3 AM, constantly checking, then eventually giving up.
- While I'm asleep BB puts more out for sale.
- I wake up and it's sold out again.

Awesome. fuck Worst Buy.

I wouldn't say that's true, the game seems OOP (since Target online has been out of stock for a while and several stores have cleared them out) and several BB locations have been OOS for a while too. Anyway, you could have gone in store or done a... OMS (I think that's the term anyway) and just get them to ship it from location to your location.

That about sums it up. lol.

Just picked up KH: DDD and Fire Emblem $9.99 each at Target :hot::D, less Target RedCard discount of course. $20.xx out the door for both. Definitely glad the local Best Buy was sold out of both, forcing me to hit up Target.

Details:
I stopped by the closest Best Buy but unsurprisingly they didn't have either game in stock. So I went to the Target nearby, went to electronics and a young lady asked if I needed help. I asked if I could get a couple of 3DS games, and she went to grab the keys. I assume this was a manager because once she got the games, I told her Best Buy has them on sale and do I need to take them up front for a pricematch and she said she would do it right there.

So she took them to the electronics register, rang them up, and asked me how much Kingdom Hearts was at Best Buy. Told her $9.99 and started to whip out my phone to show her, but she adjusted it down without having to show her a thing - no iPad lookup in customer service, no ad, no phone look up nothing. I was waiting for her to ask for the Fire Emblem sale price, however instead she simply adjusted that down to $9.99 as well, then totaled the transaction. It didn't quite register until she said the total, $20 something, and I stood there a bit stunned. I told her no that one is higher, and she said don't worry about it. No wink or finger to lips shhhh was required, or performed btw.

I will be honest, the thought did cross my mind at that point to "pricematch" a ton more games and other shit, hell I thought about cleaning the store out, but that would have been quite too dishonest and pushing my luck. Games for one cent would have been comical to attempt, but just wrong (not to mention highly unlikely to succeed). Same with wiping out their inventory of KH, FE and/or other games. Took my 2 games and left quite happy though.

You could've also gone to Best Buy right when it opens. I myself don't really trust the Store Indicator, and all my trips to BB turned out great. But that's just personal experience for me.

Well it only shows "in stock" if there are 3 or more.
On a similar subject, how is Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded for DS? That game rarely goes down in price, is it worth picking up, or a skip?
I own the game and it's fantastic. It actually went on sale several times to incredibly low prices. You can get the game around $13 new on Amazon. It plays and looks better than the previous DS game (358/2 Days) since it uses a more refined controls/combat system.

The graphics are simply amazing for a DS game. I'd pick it up.

BUY KINGDOM HEARTS 3D GUYS!!! It's back in stock and is ONLY $9.99! Fantastic deal for one of the best 3DS games and the best Kingdom Hearts game yet.

Picked up my copy today. Don't suck so much next time and you'll get one too

Well I went to sleep really late as I said earlier, I'm not going to experience sleep deprivation over $10 because a stupid company doesn't know how to properly calibrate a countdown clock, as well as holding back stock unnecessarily to piss off the buyers actually waiting for the product.

Also I suppose I can try to price match at Target?

Did not say this would happen as soon as I went to sleep (around 5am Pacific)? Classic.

Oh, and of course now the store pickup option is available - now that it is not at 19 of the 20 stores on the list (and that 1 is 100+ miles away). It is one thing to miss getting it for shipping (as that went fast) but not to have the store locator working last night was pretty crappy.

But... What is this about Fire Emblem being $9.99!?
I read this thread many times a day, checked back when the prices usually go live, and I still missed it. It isn't quite that simple ;).

I'm heading to bed now - that is the queue for Best Buy to add more stock and/or lift the in-store pickup restriction. So you early East Coast types will probably luck out again.
Wow - went back and looked at it was literally 45 minutes after I posted this (and then went to bed) that they added more stock for shipping. I pretty much nailed it.

If its a game you really want next time buy it a day or so before and do a return rebuy. What I did today on 2 copies I bought Tuesday. No lose of sleep or frustration that way.

It went live at around 12:11 AM Central Time, Deals always start at 12 so it was late a few minutes not early.

Platos - no, the Best Buy deals usually start 11-11:30 Pacific. I think they are supposed to start earlier than that but rarely do.

Nah, it wasn't that big a deal to me (plus I haven't been near a Best Buy in like 2 weeks anyway). Plus that would require two trips to out of the way Best Buy including going back to the store specifically today to price match and I couldn't get up there today anyway (store pickup, on the other hand, would have been nice - could have gotten that over the weekend). I just thought it was funny the stock got added 45 minutes after I gave up (and nearly 8 hours after the sale started).

The early start and quick sellout doesn't bother me. Not even them adding more stock right after I stopped looking. But it is pretty annoying that store pickup was not available last night. I have always been able to get DotD games that way in the past as I nearly always miss out on the shipping option. It has rarely been necessary to do any more than that (e.g., pre-buying, checking every 5 minutes, etc).

(referring to the post below) OK, I see that the price match of Fire Emblem at Target for $9.99 earlier was a mistake . Now, had Best Buy added that as a replacement for KH and it sold out ASAP, that would have made me upset.

Don't they disable instore pickup if an item sells way too quickly? I remember when they had that Kid Icarus 14.99 sale last year, it sold out online and all my stores said unavailable in less than an hour, yet next morning there were 5+ copies still on shelves.

Wow, what a bargain! I know the Target staff in Miami are pretty relaxed about PMing from mobile devices, but I've stopped trying to PM up here in the North after my last encounter with them. I tried to PM a Best Buy ad at my local Target and the lady refused to accept my phone ad as proof. I told her she can verify the price by going to the Best Buy website or calling the local store, but she gave me nothing but attitude and stated that if I want to price match a competitive store then I have to bring a physical advertisement as proof and nothing less. I politely informed her that this was news to me, as my Miami target has allowed me to price match products from competitive stores using my mobile device, to which she gave a smug reply stating that "They are obviously special and do things differently down there". I asked her if she would be kind enough to point out this price matching policy to me, as last time I checked they allowed digital advertisements upon verification of price and availability. She told me that she doesnt have to proof anything, and even if it states otherwise on the Target.com website the policy is at store discretion. I dont know if she was having a bad day or what the case was, as I was nothing but polite to that woman during our entire encounter (mind you, she made me wait 16 minutes before she even acknowledged my presence because she was busy chit-chatting with another employee). And the best part was, as I was walking away I overheard her telling the other employee how I must think that they are stupid, that for all she knows I photoshopped the advertisement. I had to LoL at that remark, as it was only a $10 price difference and if she truly believed I was trying to defraud their store she could have very easily verified the price of product on the Best Buy website. Anyways that was the first and last time I ever tried to price match at a Target up North.

Someone mentioned in a post the system they have only keeps track of a certain amount of games that are in stock before it looks out and becomes unavailable online/store pickup even though it could still be available in store. I think it's to prevent overselling what they may not have. Which is why it'll pop back up again avaliable when an inventory check is done

I think it was just a glitch. During the whole $130 dollar Tango headset sale (I think that was the price anyway), I had the online say none were in stock besides 1 location and then I check 4 hours later and every location had stock. I placed 2 orders online (1 at the original location and 1 closer to me) and both were canceled, plus when I checked in store the guy was telling me they had none. I called the other location (I know, but it was a 70 minute drive and I really just wanted to know), but the woman told me they sold it days ago with people constantly calling about it.

Order shipped earlier this morning so I'm glad I don't have to go to the store

Yup dat laziness

I can't wait to play it, $10 is an excellent price

I'm wondering if an OMS (order in-store and ship to home) order can be made for Kingdom Hearts. I did that last year when Kid Icarus, the deal of day, was out of stock in-store.

you are going to have to try it in store, but oms does not always work

Why any cag here not trying to look at the closest BB? This morning the inventory said out of stock, but I went like 10 mins down the street to my bb and saw 5 copies of the game with the price tag of $29.99. I use a $5 cert. so pay like $5.29 for the game. Cant beat that for a brand new game vs used like gs.

I asked for a price match today at my Target. At first they asked me for a physical ad, but in the end they sold it to me at 9.99. I also bought RE: Revelations, which was with a tag of $13.98, but once the guy scanned it it showed as $9.99 on the computer.
