Same. I dont understand the love for the game. Extremely boring gameplay and has the worst graphics (yes I know it is old now but even for its time the graphics were horrible). Im probably the only person who is not going to pick up GTA 5. Even if someone were to pay me to play it....not happening.
wow, i thought i was the only one who felt that way. i got this game like 3 times already, but could not get into it at all. I just ended up traded it to gamestop. I remember everytime this game went on sale. you got tons of ppl commenting on how "great" this game was.
This game was IATCGs favorite game of all time, LOL

The graphics were OK. The sense of scope was pretty great. The frame-rate, though? Good grief... did GTA IV even HAVE a frame-rate?

Sweet im not the only one! Anyways I too have picked it up three times and traded it to GS everytime for a profit too! That is all it is good for.
ehh Target has had it at this price for some time now (atleast 3 weeks)
Goes to website...see $29.99/$27.00 price tag?

i know i am going to get flame for saying this, but i had more fun with saints row the third than this. (with all the immaturity in that game). Even though both are "open world sand box games"

I have only play Saints Row 3 a little bit but I did enjoy it more than GTA as well. But regardless I try to stay away from both of them. And Rockstar games in general since all of their games feel exactly the same.

Guessing it is YMMV ? I will snap a pic tomorrow will probably check clearance

Flamed by who? The general consensus is that Saint's Row: The Third is a much more enjoyable experience than Grand Theft Auto IV. I share that opinion as well.

That being said, GTAIV is still enjoyable to me, and since the game doesn't run so consistently on my PC, I am going to bite and buy this for myself again, for old times sake.
70 weeks ago. Nice memory.
Thanks, I just remember that's when I got GTA for the 3rd time (launch CE, Walmart BF sale in 2010, then the BB DotD in Dec. 2011) and it ended up getting traded in each time w/o playing it since I traded my launch CE game in keeping the goodies.

I guess this may be time No. 4 as I need to beat this at some point, but I'll beat SR 3 first.
I played SR3 and GTA4 back to back, loved them both for what they were. very rewarding as you reach the ends.
Yeah, there is something about both of them that has me coming back the replay both of them time and time again. Saint's Row The Third has the pure fun factor, while GTA: IV has the atmosphere.

So, if I have both the original game and the Episodes from Liberty City disc is there any reason to purchase the "Complete Edition"?
So, if I have both the original game and the Episodes from Liberty City disc is there any reason to purchase the "Complete Edition"?
Nope. They're the exact same discs in a double case.
ehh Target has had it at this price for some time now (atleast 3 weeks)
Not quite. Target has had the regular edition of GTA 4 and Episodes from Liberty City for $15 each.
Nope. They're the exact same discs in a double case.
Well on PS3 everything is on one disc.

I have not played yet Saint's Row: The Third or Sleeping Dogs. All I can say is GATIV is a good game but IMHO, GTA San Andreas was a much better game and sandbox experience., the side activities in Liberty City are boring as hell.

Played GTA4 years ago, got bored with it and traded it in, but I've always kind of wanted to go back and give it another try. Not a bad deal for the complete edition.

Price matched @ target this morning. paid for GTA V reservations, got $10 GC for each X amount of GTA Complete Editions :D.

CAG transaction successful.

I thought the same thing. It took me over a year to finish GTA4, but once I got far enough into the story I got into it more. I hated the side missions and "relationship" crap, people would call you every 5 min it seemed like and sometimes in the middle of a mission.

But for $10 after a reward cert I had to use up, I'll try out the DLC content.

this is a great deal for $15. i can see how people had more fun with SR3, which i think is more comparable to GTA: San Andreas. i was a bit let down with how realistic GTA IV was, but it made sense, being the sequel to GTA III. i missed the weapon leveling and jet pack, but still think GTA IV is a beautiful game. and the soundtracks for Lost and the Damned and TBoGT are fantastic.
Is this GTA complete edition a "greatest hits" box or still black box?
My local Best Buy only had Greatest Hits red boxes. Looked for a black box but there wasn't one. There's no real difference besides the ugly red case, right?

I have heard that the DLC is great.

Was gonna pick up BF3 used with my Easter cert, but might get this now. Nothing like a good "**** around" session of GTA. Not to mention I love the SOA feel of TLaD, and I've never played TBOGT

Same here, PM'd @ Target for the bonus GC deal, chained the deal to effectively bring the individual cost of each copy to a bit over $6 each.

If you don't want to do all the stupid friend activites, when they call you, accept their invitation. Then call them back and cancel it. That way you won't get negative relationship points. You'll eventually have to do something with them though, because you can only do that so many times in a row before you'll get negative points regardless.

i thought sleeping dogs did it well. you call the chic, you go on a date, you have some fun, get laid, and then she unlocks some collectible finder on your maps. everyone wins and i don't feel like a jerk for ignoring fake video game relationships. plus Chen is awesome.

I've actually never seen anything but a red box Greatest Hits edition.

I felt the same way. Looking forward to trying this out.
I've actually never seen anything but a red box Greatest Hits edition.
Yeah, every PS3 edition I've seen has been red box.

The 360 version I picked up at my local store was regular box, not platinum hits, though. Woo.

Surprised my store had these in stock. Grabbed one as I had traded my original copy in about 2 months ago and was waiting for a good price. Thanks OP, beats GS's $22.99 preowned.

Kind of bummed that they didn't use the original disc art but I like the new one that they used.

Hope a bunch of you guys got in on this, I bought GTA IV soon after launch and the DLC at full price and I easily got every penny's worth out of it. Not as fun as San Andreas but still pretty enjoyable.

You know. I don't know why, but I just can never get into any of the GTA games. The last one I played was Chinatown, and that one was supposed to be good. It was very entertaining until people started pulling you left and right, even when you were in the middle of missions, and that was when I started losing interests in that one as well.

Chinatown Wars iirc plays more like the Classic GTAs. GTA IV is a fully 3D open world sandbox game. I'd say it's a completely different experience and you may enjoy GTA IV/V more than you did with Chinatown wars.
