Any idea if you can borrow a GOTY disc, download the DLC, then use your vanilla version with the DLC?
It's on the disc.
I bought Uncharted 3 from the Best Buy web site to be picked up in the store. I picked it up today and the code didn't work, because someone already used it.

I called Sony and they said take it back to Best Buy and get another one because the code was used last year!

LAST YEAR!?!?!

I Googled this topic and found pages and pages of people with the same problem. I'm surprised that Sony hasn't done something about this.

How can people get these codes and use them? Sony seems to know about the problem but could care less to do anything about it.

Now I have to go back to Best Buy tomorrow and hopefully get another copy that works.
Used copies from GS get a fresh online pass on the receipt so that's an option as well.

Question is does GS make sure that it is active or do they just pull it from a database.

Basically would a random number generator also take GS online passes.

2000 Microsoft Points & 400 Free Points $24.99
^That's...uh...not much of a deal, is it? I mean, without the 400 free points, you're paying MSRP for 2000 MSP. :???:
hasn't this been going on all week? I ordered a 1600+400 card last night, which seems like the better deal obviously;)

Mine took about 2 hours on Sunday. Ordered at 7:13pm and received my 400pt codes at 9:09pm.
I just went today and got the 1600 + 400 deal. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to email you your bonus 400 points?

Yeah, obviously the 1600 points + 400 extra points deal is better. No idea what Best Buy is thinking, but hey, the might get a few suckers.
Thanks for pointing out this deal over the other one. I was gonna get the 2000 until I saw this. I just need the 1600 for Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon
Yeah, obviously the 1600 points + 400 extra points deal is better. No idea what Best Buy is thinking, but hey, the might get a few suckers.
It's the exact same deal...

2000 msp = 24.99
1600 msp = 19.99

400 msp = 5.00

Edit: forgetting what site this was for a second, but the difference in the deals doesn't come into play unless your buying a mass quantity.

Ummm. No.

Basically one deal is 25% "bonus" points, and the other is 20%.

I'll go with the 25% bonus, considering that also has lower up-front costs ($20 vs $25).

This. 1600+400 is basically 100 points per dollar, which is usually the best deal on MS points.

You see I went in store to do this and I haven't gotten the 400 points bonus yet through email. Although they didn't say that I think bought the regular 1600 points.

But I want to buy online this time. Ah!!

Ordered the 1600 points + 400 free points online 15 minutes ago, got the email for the 400 point download code 10 minutes later.

Haven't gotten my bonus points yet and I bought the gears season pass code that was in the ad, I made a post about it on the BB forums and if I hear back from them before I get my points I'll post what they said about the promo.

I also bought the gears season pass yesterday and never received the bonus points. I saw your post on the BB forums but I know it'll take time for someone to respond so I called customer service. The call took 20 minutes and I was told that one of their Gaming Specialists would send me the code within 24 hours.

Ah, I've never used the forum before but looking over other peoples posts it does seem to take a while, good to know that if it takes too long I can call them up and get it sorted out that way at least, I just know last time I called them it took forever to get through and the person on the other end had no idea what they were talking about :/

When I purchased it I didn't buy the actual "card", I printed out a GoW:J Season Pass voucher from the kiosk and paid for it at the register. I got an email almost immediately with the same code from the receipt. I purchased around 3PM yesterday so I'll give them about 24hrs then call because I think the ad says you should get the email with the bonus points 30 minutes to 8 hours from purchase. Maybe because I used the printed voucher the system doesn't recognize it?

I probably got lucky. When I first called, I was transfered to "Gaming". I spoke to the woman there for about 15 minutes. She then transferred me to the "back office" and the lady there told me to give them 24 hours after she verified my info.

My situation is exactly the same as yours. The only difference is that the lady at the register had to get the sku from the ad since the barcode on the voucher was unreadable due to low ink.
My first order for store pickup of a 1600 pt card was just canceled.
Said because they could not verify my information.

Trying again. :(
Same here, and I know all my info is correct. Glitch maybe?
Anyone else having the order cancellation problem?
Me, called they said my account was flagged. Due to stricter security standards. I am sitting on hold, not too pleased....

Ugh. Perhaps I should do the same.

Called and they said it was a security flag.
All my info was correct. He implied it was due to the ip I ordered from.

I called b.s.

It will supposedly clear in 48 hrs.

I am done with BB.

But do they ship the card to you or do they provide the code digitally? I'm talking about the 1600 points.

I havent checked the details for this sale but in the past the card is mailed to you and the bonus points are sent as a digital download through your email.

Just got off the phone with Best Buy and they gave me the same crap. My account has been flagged for fraud. My Premium Silver account, mind you. The woman said it could take up to a week to be processed through the fraud department and get cleared.

Just wow.

thanks for the info, that's a deal killer for me, i'm addicted to Skyrim and need points asap

I love these deals, people go absolutely crazy every time they will get free 400-800 points and act like its the deal of the century. Then when the order screws up, they get on here and rant and rave.
But do they ship the card to you or do they provide the code digitally? I'm talking about the 1600 points.
Physical card = yes it will be shipped.

I highly doubt it will take a week. I'm guessing more. I'm silver as well, so I'm blown. I'm on hold again, since I need to know wtf is going on and was cut off last time

I had no problem with the 1600 point for $20 and 400 bonus points. they emailed me the codes for 400 like within an hour tops. 7 hours later i got shipping confirmation...

Quoting myself just because I remembered I said I would, after posting about not getting the extra 400 points on the forums I got an email from one of the reps on there within 24 hours, apparently the employee at the store never activated the 400 point code so I wouldn't have gotten it otherwise, while it sucks I had to contact them I can say I am happy with how fast they fixed the problem!

ZoE HD collections are also on sale today for 17.99 at bby. Maybe it's been like that all week though and the tracker just noticed.

Edit: I see that it's just part of a 2 day sale

Would anyone recommend a pair of Gunnar Optiks? I started work full time at 2K a month ago (was just working part time prior) and sitting in front of computer/TV screens all day has started to give me headaches and I feel as though as it might be due to eyestrain.

However, I don't want to waste my precious BB Cert on something that's just a placebo.

I heard they work well for eye strain. As for making it easier to focus and game better that's the load of BS. I too want them because I sit in front of a computer all day and program. I heard the $7 pair of Clear Optiks on amazon are decent as well. But the frames are odd because they're aviators.
