When are they available?
It's random and can happen during any day of the week. Usually starts around 1:00 AM EST to 1:30 AM EST.

Is it the same price in store?
Yes.

Will Amazon price match?
It depends on if enough people alert them to the deal and if Best Buy still have stock available for shipping.

How long are these deals available?
For up to 24 hours or until the item sells out.

Will Best Buy price match a DotD item I already purchased?
No. All Deal of the Day products are of Limited Quantities and are excluded from the Best Buy Price Match Guarantee.
(Official policy of Best Buy but depending on the customer service rep handling the price match you might still be able to get it done.)

Went to my local Target they said I needed a printed ad unless it was from Wal-Mart.com (which I find interesting) anyway good thing shipping is back on whoop whoop!!
 
Yeah, now I'm kind of glad it wasn't available for store pickup last night (and that made me keep checking this afternoon) - I don't have to drive up there at all now. What the hell, for this price I'm getting another one for my son.
 
So since any of the closer Best Buys near me didn't have any in stock and since I can't ship from the site, I just went and got a copy price matched at the nearest Fry's Electronics

Got me one shipped and also Zelda OOT....I think I pretty much have every 3DS game for now sans new stuff coming out....kind of want NSMB2 but i'm sure it will get an ok sale sometime!

Too bad I didn't wait 6 months on this game. I just started playing it about 2 weeks ago. Well worth $10.

By the way 16GB flash drives are like $13 today as well. (someone probably noticed, but just passing the word along)
 
Went to the target today on 99th ave and Lower Buckeye here in Phoenix AZ.
Got them to price match, even tho they said they needed a physical ad. Told them that it would save me a very far trip to Bestbuy and would rather spend the money at the current location I was at. They checked the ad from a iPad they took out from underneath the counter and verified that it was $9.99. The Target employees looked kinda baffled as to why the pre owned version was more expensive than the new copy, but went ahead and did it for me anyways.

There was also 1 copy remaining at that specific Target store if there are any other CAGs near my area.
 
seems like it's still available for shipping if folks still want to jump on this, from what I've heard it should be $10 well spent. Looking forward towards my copy

Definitely worth $10. I'm a fanboy of the series and I loved it. I got about 40 hours out of the game with one play through and some extra stuff that I did. Pretty neat trophy system too for doing things in game and doing a certain number of them unlocks the secret ending. Plan to play through the game again because it was really fun. Of course the story is convoluted as heck sometimes but there are wikis and other things you can consult if you really need to. Paid $30 on release and don't feel cheated at all that the price is like this today.
 
Price matched at Target with no problem right before the store closed.

Pro tip: Don't ever mention "deal of the day" to the Target cashier. Let them search the Best Buy website by item, and they won't question the price when it shows up.

So what does that mean it will ship after that date? Or is there a chance it will never ship and be canceled?
I've never had a backorder with BB before so I don't know what to expect.
 
If anyone here has a Vita, I also saw the Sony brand screen protectors on sale for $2.99. Forgot I already had a spare and grabbed two more today, I now have 3 plus the one on my Vita now. Should last me the life of the system at least.

Wow if mine has them I'll grab as well. Used them on my 3DS XL and Vita screens, those things are amazing. Not a single scratch or smudge on either after nearly a year of use. Just put one on my Pikachu 3DS when I got it as well.

Backordered at Best Buy usually means it will be strung out for a while and then cancelled. My order put in right when the shipping option returned around 5pm also got backordered.

It might be different for this title - not sure. But when they had that big clearance two years ago pretty much everything that went to backorder ended up getting cancelled.

I made this mistake for my PSP. Bought three for backup, but my screen protector for my first OG PSP is still like-new. Sigh.

FWIW, the last two orders that BB cancelled on me, I ended up getting a $10 digital coupon.

I just had a bluray cancellation about 2 weeks ago, and they emailed saying "sorry, but expect an email with a discount on your next order in 2 days", but I never got anything from them.

My order for Doom 3 was backordered when it was on sale a couple of weeks ago. I went ahead and pm'd at Target only to get a "shipped" e-mail from BB a couple of days later.

What's not cool is that Best Buy refuses to give money back when it's the law. They only do it for their cancellations and not their bait-and-switch.

It may not have been changed in the system yet, the tag on the shelf read $2.99 but it rang up at $10. If you're near one check in store.

They didn't give me like a purple 3DS in place of a Fire Emblem Awakening one or something like that. ;)

They switched prices on me mid-order once and I paid like $70 extra.

There's a law that says that I should have been given $3 on each mischarged item and I get charged with the price that was advertised, but I only got my difference and not my $3 for each item after talking to useless customer service people.
 
Back during that big Best Buy clearance I had a few orders with items that had shipped and some that had been backordered. So get this, about 3 months after the sale they adjusted the price of one of the items that had already shipped UP to $10 (from $3 or so) and charged me the difference. The backordered items ended up getting cancelled later. I was able to straighten it out after a lengthy phone call and they couldn't explain why or how that happened. But stuff gets screwy at Best Buy when it is backordered. Since these were just single-item orders (for KH that is) I wouldn't think anything bizarre like that would happen. but you have to keep an eye on them (and your CC).
