Can I pre-order and purchase multiple copies of a
qualifying game and get multiple awards?
No. There is a limit of one (1) award per My Best Buy
member per game title.
What if I pre-ordered a qualifying game before I
saw this offer?
If you pre-ordered a qualifying game before seeing
this offer, you’ll still qualify for the offer as long as
your member ID is attached to the transaction.
When will I receive my $10 reward certificate?
For each qualified purchase, you will receive 500 My
Best Buy points (worth $10 in reward certificates)
credited to your account approximately 15–20 days
after street date or store pickup.
If I pre-order a game now using my GCU and the
game releases after my membership ends, will
I still get the 20% off discount?

For in-store pre-orders, I can definitively say that if
your GCU membership is expired when you
complete your pickup, you will not receive the 20%
discount. This is because in-store pre-orders are not
processed until the time of pickup, and we only
collect an up-front deposit.

Pre-orders made on BestBuy.com are not as cut and
dry as in-store, but it is possible to retain your GCU
discount on a title released after your membership
expires for these types of pre-orders. Reason being,
when you place your pre-order the GCU discount is
calculated up front, and we then pre-authorize the
discounted total with your bank. If all goes well, the
discount can be retained upon release, however,
there is no guarantee.

A sure way to lose the discount on BestBuy.com
pre-orders is if any modifications are made to the
order prior to release, but after your membership
has expired. These modifications could be updating
the billing address, changing the form of payment,
and others. This is because when a modification is
made it triggers another authorization on your form of
payment, which should recalculate the price if your
GCU membership is no longer active.

Best Buy had somewhat decent Odyssey and BTW deals, but not Arms. It's really weird.

but ya, the main reason im not pre-ordering Smash Bros instantly for the cert is im still hoping for a deal to stack with it

 
Looks like the Far Cry 5 Gold Edition - PlayStation 4 is in 'Coming Soon' status. Can't order. 

Of course waited too long. Hopefully it comes back for folks that are intrigued  due to the new Season Pass contents.

The Xbox version was "Coming Soon" earlier this week but has since returned.

Interesting, now the "Far Cry 5 Gold Edition - PlayStation 4" is showing available for pre-order but trying to add to cart now says "This item is currently unavailable for online purchase. The item was not added to your cart."

Good luck to everybody trying! Going to have to keep waiting for it to come back.

Same message for me. On the item list page the "Pre-Order" button is replaced with "Coming Soon" too. Looks like it's only the PS4 version doing this right now (Xbox adds to cart just fine).

I guess a lot of people are preordering it.

 
The Far Cry 5 Gold Edition also has a new pre-order bonus included, a set of 3 collectible prints.

Already posted in the unboxed forums to see if it will get retroactively added to orders or if you need to have someone do something.

The DLC looks really good + recent Best Buy bonuses like the $15 credit for buying a $150 gift card that has to be spent by the end of March.

This is also my issue right now. I should have pre-ordered it the other day, but I was going to wait until I got paid on Friday and today just decided what the hell and went to order it, but now it's not available at my store. I ordered a copy for in-store pick up at Gamestop (Gold Edition is $89.99 there) but hope that it becomes available again before releasing at Best Buy because I would love to use GCU and get that $10 RZ cert back.

I almost thought about the Deluxe edition thinking it included the Season Pass, but it just includes some weapon packs or something and didn't seem worth getting at all.

I would never have thought that something like Far Cry 5 Gold would sell out before release.

I might have a couple Far Cry 5 Gold Editions up for grabs.  I ordered a couple extra for friends and they backed out, plus I wanted to make sure they all got shipped in a box to avoid the Steelbooks getting smashed to shit.  If you are interested, lmk.

Love the Tomb Raider games but going to wait on the pre-order for now. It comes out right around the same time as RDR2 and Spiderman. 

 
I dont think BBY has ever issued any certs for PS4 only games, I could be wrong, but that would explain why no God Of War

 
Hmm why does best buy have Vampyr for windows at $59.99 lol it's $49.99 everywhere else. would've been nice with the gift card bonus.

 
Avoid release day delivery from Best Buy at all costs if you actually expect it to show up on release day. In the last 6 months, Best Buy is 2 for 9 w/ me for actually meeting the release day delivery commitment. And none of those missed was the shipping carrier's fault.

Best Buy's release day delivery strategy is to ship your package the night before, select standard shipping and cross their fingers hoping that it will somehow magically show up. When it doesn't, they'll invoke "vendor restrictions and shipping logistics" as their excuse. Every. Single. Time.

It really depends on where you live. Probably 9 out of 10 things I order with 2-day shipping show up on the release date.

 
ive never had a problem with release day delivery either, for a tuesday release they typically ship overnight. i know you have to order a bit in advance, if you try ordering the wednesday or thursday before release you wont get it on time.

 
They upped their game for Far Cry 5. I got it released date, and it actually came in a brown box with plenty of air pillows (no loose disc!).

It's been awhile since I ordered a single game and they pretty much always came in a plastic shipping bag that looked like it got stepped on a few times with a loose disc.

I'm sure where you live does play a factor. But when they don't actually ship the item until the morning of release, kind of hard for it to make it to you on time. Or when they dump it in UPS Ground at 6pm the night before ... UPS Ground has no specific timeframe committment.

I ordered 3+ months in advance both times, so there is obviously no prioritiy based on when you ordered.

The Best Buy Unboxed forums are filled with people ranting about botched delivery due to them just tossing it in UPS Ground and crossing their fingers or not shipoing until the morning of release. Each time Best Buy responds with their standard boilerplate copy and paste "due to vendor restrictions and shipping logistics, don't blame us." If they used UPS Next Day Air Saver on all of their items, they would all make it on release day. The 2 out of 9 that made it to me on time, those came Next Day Air Saver. The other 7 out of 9 that didn't make it, those either didn't ship until the morning of release or shipped the night before via UPS Ground.

Maybe it works for some of you, but just an FYI that YMMV.

There's gotta be some logistical reason why they are shipping it at the last minute based on where you are but they aren't changing their factors when it doesn't get there on time.
