Can I pre-order and purchase multiple copies of a
qualifying game and get multiple awards?
No. There is a limit of one (1) award per My Best Buy
member per game title.
What if I pre-ordered a qualifying game before I
saw this offer?
If you pre-ordered a qualifying game before seeing
this offer, you’ll still qualify for the offer as long as
your member ID is attached to the transaction.
When will I receive my $10 reward certificate?
For each qualified purchase, you will receive 500 My
Best Buy points (worth $10 in reward certificates)
credited to your account approximately 15–20 days
after street date or store pickup.
If I pre-order a game now using my GCU and the
game releases after my membership ends, will
I still get the 20% off discount?

For in-store pre-orders, I can definitively say that if
your GCU membership is expired when you
complete your pickup, you will not receive the 20%
discount. This is because in-store pre-orders are not
processed until the time of pickup, and we only
collect an up-front deposit.

Pre-orders made on BestBuy.com are not as cut and
dry as in-store, but it is possible to retain your GCU
discount on a title released after your membership
expires for these types of pre-orders. Reason being,
when you place your pre-order the GCU discount is
calculated up front, and we then pre-authorize the
discounted total with your bank. If all goes well, the
discount can be retained upon release, however,
there is no guarantee.

A sure way to lose the discount on BestBuy.com
pre-orders is if any modifications are made to the
order prior to release, but after your membership
has expired. These modifications could be updating
the billing address, changing the form of payment,
and others. This is because when a modification is
made it triggers another authorization on your form of
payment, which should recalculate the price if your
GCU membership is no longer active.

The very rare game that does DLC the right way: one significant content pack a good while after release. Other examples are Last of Us and Horizon.

Terrible examples include almost everything else, including Spider Man most recently. Not thrilled about what Tomb Raider is doing, but the soundtrack in the Croft edition was enough to get me to bite, as I'm a sucker for soundtracks and would buy it anyway if I liked it, so the season pass is just a bonus.

Alright, so I preordered for in store pickup last night. This morning I got an email saying it isn’t available and I check other stores and no store working 70 miles has it. So I simply made changes to my order to shipping to get it earlier. Will making changes to my order affect the $10 preorder certificate?
 
Decided to jump on the SOTR for only $37 after all the goodies, since we are probably seeing the last days of these stacking deals.

 
Just got a text from B.B. saying Tomb raider is out of stock. Preordered well before today. My store and about half of them nearby are out of stock so this is great. Ridiculous and pathetic on their part.

That's been happening a lot lately with new releases preordered to pick up in store. Happened with my Yakuza Kiwami 2 steelbook edition and my Blade Strangers Switch release a couple weeks ago. Though both did eventually come back in stock in store within 6 days.

In other news, Warriors Orochi 4 now has a $10 gift card offer with preorder for Switch, PS4 and XB1.

This exact bull just happened to me too. Email saying store is out of stock to select another. Now I gotta run like an extra 60 miles today since the pizzas I ordered for the kids sleepover was next to that best buy
 
At least you got an email for it. I had to look up if my order was ready or not to find out they were out of stock. I just went with shipping. First time I had this happen to me. 

 
Mine was OOS locally too, had to switch to free shipping.  In a way I'm glad have been hooked on "Victor Vran" for a few weeks want to finish before all the new games come out.

Damn that sucks. I decided to switch to shipping. I’m gonna be by the closest store with stock tonight but they close at 9 (seems early lol) so I won’t be able to make it this weekend. Supposedly mine shipped but it’s the usual premature ship notification when in reality they just made the label.

Had this happen with 2k19 on switch last week. Email went to my promotions folder instead of the normal inbox. Had to call to switch pickup locations and they were a pain in the ass when I tried to change the pickup person. Not fun but at least I saved $20 total on the game. Only had this happen once before in the 3 years I've been doing this (Mafia III on Xbox).

Tomb Raider is ready for pickup though without a problem. Win some lose some.

Otherwise, give it two weeks before it pops up.

Also got an email 1 or 2 days before release of the limited edition not Croft edition saying the pickup location got updated. I’m just like wow seriously? I was so confused thinkin I just messed up choosing a different location, I guess not. Just picked it up from a location nearby

I ordered online on June 29th , picked up today and no points showing, I got the $5 for the Christine 4k steelbook already though and that order was in August.

 
I try chatting and i was told they have zero ideas on when they are getting more tomb raider steelbook for people who choose in store pick up their copy and they refuse to ship one to me. I fnd that completely unacceptable.

I ordered TR on 5/20, it was delivered on 9/12 (Croft SB), and I don't have the bonus 500 pts ($10) pending either

 
I preordered the TR Croft edition way back in April and picked it up day of release. No pending points for the $10 bonus yet. Is that normal?

I chatted twice, and then called. Supposedly they are shipping me one now. Probably come destroyed though.

Of course they just say sorry. Should overnight us some copies.

I just called, took about 10 minutes, and the lady told me I'll get my points within 24 to 48 hours. Just checked, got my points just now. I had mine preordered since Aug. 27th.

I did this, they told me 15-20 days after getting the game. I tried to explain that my order was in July and the points should have already posted, but no dice.

 
Same. Mine shows my pending points from the purchase but not the 500 bonus. BB really screwed up this release if these points don’t post without having to ask them

It will show up eventually. I've never not gotten the 500 bonus. Sometimes they're late in adding it. My steel book version arrived damaged (shipped in a envelope) and I cant exchange it without losing the bonus :(

So, having pre-ordered tomb raider steelbook on June 11...I only got 46 reward points? Not showing anything pending. Is that normal and I'll get the rest or do I need to investigate with CS rep? I've never preordered/ gotten a $10 bonus...

It takes 15-20 days after release to process. Most times, it's sooner.
