▼ Read Me! FAQ ▼ Pre-Order $10 Program
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can I pre-order and purchase multiple copies of a
qualifying game and get multiple awards?
No. There is a limit of one (1) award per My Best Buy
member per game title.
What if I pre-ordered a qualifying game before I
saw this offer?
If you pre-ordered a qualifying game before seeing
this offer, you’ll still qualify for the offer as long as
your member ID is attached to the transaction.
When will I receive my $10 reward certificate?
For each qualified purchase, you will receive 500 My
Best Buy points (worth $10 in reward certificates)
credited to your account approximately 15–20 days
after street date or store pickup.
If I pre-order a game now using my GCU and the
game releases after my membership ends, will
I still get the 20% off discount?
- From BestBuy Support Forums (link):
For in-store pre-orders, I can definitively say that if
your GCU membership is expired when you
complete your pickup, you will not receive the 20%
discount. This is because in-store pre-orders are not
processed until the time of pickup, and we only
collect an up-front deposit.

Pre-orders made on BestBuy.com are not as cut and
dry as in-store, but it is possible to retain your GCU
discount on a title released after your membership
expires for these types of pre-orders. Reason being,
when you place your pre-order the GCU discount is
calculated up front, and we then pre-authorize the
discounted total with your bank. If all goes well, the
discount can be retained upon release, however,
there is no guarantee.

A sure way to lose the discount on BestBuy.com
pre-orders is if any modifications are made to the
order prior to release, but after your membership
has expired. These modifications could be updating
the billing address, changing the form of payment,
and others. This is because when a modification is
made it triggers another authorization on your form of
payment, which should recalculate the price if your
GCU membership is no longer active.

Returned my TR long before the points were even pending and still got a $10 cert today
I had returned Far Cry 5 earlier this year after getting the $10 gift certificate. What ended up happening afterward is that my points actually went into a negative after some time. So keep an eye out for that.

I am truly curious what is the chance that tomb raider and assassin creed would have a $10-20 off sale before the 30 days window.  I know madden drop to $40 for dotd pretty quickly.

I use to use the chat to do the price adjust, but tried using it for madden and can’t find it. Did they get rid of the chat? What’s the best way to post purchase price adjust?

Some categories on Bestbuy.com don’t bring up the live chat. For the future go look an expensive tv and click help on the right and live chat should be there.

I go to customer support, then contact us, then the question mark on the right side. Sometimes I have to mouse over the question mark a couple times for it to refresh with the option to chat.

Calling the help number found on the site (well, I found it on the mobile app, but I assume it's easy enough to find on the site). I've done it before with Kirby Star Allies, and it went pretty smoothly.

Has anyone gotten their certificate for FIFA 19? It's been more than a week already and some people get theirs on the first day/second

Might be the first time passing on COD BO since there is no single player campaign mode.
COD has been more online play than single player for awhile. Black Ops holds their value more than other COD. I am only getting because I can get it for $36.99 day one after preorder $10 certificate, $1 in store pickup offer, and GCU. Sadly my Best Buy is not doing a midnight release and since I preordered a while back I used like 4 Best Buy gift cards and some reward certificates to preorder so I can’t change the store to one opens at midnight.

Its tempting, but I dont think I will ever play it with ACO, FH4, RDR2, BFV, JC4 all around the corner. I don't play online, I really like the stories then trade them back to put on the next game, and with the 5 star titles this year, I think it will collect dust, plus my kids aren't excited at all after playing the beta, went right back to Fortnite.

How did this work with GCU? Like, if I bought a game at full price ($48 GCU) and it goes on sale for, like, $50 ($40 GCU) would they refund/adjust so I was charged $40 instead of $48?

No. You only get the benefit of whichever is lower (i.e. what you paid versus the price drop), not the GCU adjusted price after the match.

As long as it is Best Buy selling it for that price, and you still have GCU.

If Best Buy lowers our price during the return and exchange period on a My Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked purchase, we will, upon request, apply the 20% discount on the new lower price. For example, If a Gamers Club Unlocked member paid $47.99 for a new game priced at $59.99 and Best Buy lowers the price to $49.99 during the return and exchange period, we will, upon request, price match the new price with the 20% discount and sell the My Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked member the game for $39.99.

I can confirm that, aside from the chat rep being as brain dead as most CSRs are, it went smoothly and the two post-GCU prices were compared and adjusted.

Will Best buy let me do a post-purchase price adjustment from amazon for Tomb Raider or just hope best buy will have a sale within a week.
Depends. Sometimes they will do a post-purchase price match from other competitors, but you need to find a nice person to do it. They could always do a return rebuy with the price match. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Just got a 25% off code from Best Buy and I saw that Fallout 76 for Windows actually had a physical copy that will allow me to stack GCU, the promo code, and get a $10 cert. But I’ve never ordered a “physical” Windows game from Best Buy. Am I correct in assuming it’s just a Steam code in a box?

Interesting. This is only for physical copies I presume?
