Can I pre-order and purchase multiple copies of a
qualifying game and get multiple awards?
No. There is a limit of one (1) award per My Best Buy
member per game title.
What if I pre-ordered a qualifying game before I
saw this offer?
If you pre-ordered a qualifying game before seeing
this offer, you’ll still qualify for the offer as long as
your member ID is attached to the transaction.
When will I receive my $10 reward certificate?
For each qualified purchase, you will receive 500 My
Best Buy points (worth $10 in reward certificates)
credited to your account approximately 15–20 days
after street date or store pickup.
If I pre-order a game now using my GCU and the
game releases after my membership ends, will
I still get the 20% off discount?

For in-store pre-orders, I can definitively say that if
your GCU membership is expired when you
complete your pickup, you will not receive the 20%
discount. This is because in-store pre-orders are not
processed until the time of pickup, and we only
collect an up-front deposit.

Pre-orders made on BestBuy.com are not as cut and
dry as in-store, but it is possible to retain your GCU
discount on a title released after your membership
expires for these types of pre-orders. Reason being,
when you place your pre-order the GCU discount is
calculated up front, and we then pre-authorize the
discounted total with your bank. If all goes well, the
discount can be retained upon release, however,
there is no guarantee.

A sure way to lose the discount on BestBuy.com
pre-orders is if any modifications are made to the
order prior to release, but after your membership
has expired. These modifications could be updating
the billing address, changing the form of payment,
and others. This is because when a modification is
made it triggers another authorization on your form of
payment, which should recalculate the price if your
GCU membership is no longer active.

Can someone explain Best Buy release day shipping to me very quickly? 

I ordered Divinity 2 on the Switch physical edition. I paid the billion dollars to get it on release day but I'm just curious how gipped I got. 

Didn't mind since I'm bored at home and had a coupon. 

 
I want to preorder FF7 and have it shipped to me, but I was only seeing pick-up at store. Anyone know how I can have it shipped instead?

You likely waited to long to pre-order. Best Buy may have pre-orders open for shipping before release date, but yeah you probably have to wait till release and choose shipping then. I'm pretty sure there will be plenty of FF7R to go around.

Anyone have luck price matching resident evil online and getting steelbook? Or does the steelbook automatically come with it whether you price match or not?
 
Well my GCU expired on Monday and I haven’t received the coupon for 25% off a purchase for being a part of the program. Glad I set a reminder and placed a few final orders with my GCU. It was a good ride Best Buy.

mine came like 3 days after it 'expired' and my GCU was still good for like a whole week past its date, so you never know.

 
WTF with you all getting your Animal Crossing rewards.  I preordered mine on the 15th, obviously used the code right away to preload it, and I still haven't gotten it.  They told me it could take up to 20 days...which would be today so I guess I'll be contacting them again tomorrow.  Was hoping to use it with my 10% off for b-day get a new record or something.

 
My AC points barely got processed like a day or two ago for my physical pre-order. I forget how long it takes after order before you need to contact BB support to get your points.

 
Rumbles from financial guys that Best Buy is soon to furlough all employees. If true that could be the straw.

I posted on April 1 that Best Buy had announced they were paying people through April 18. After today they are furloughing people.

They are furloughing 51,000 people. Disney World is supposed to be furloughing 48,000.

Unemployment is the highest it has been since The Great Depression and it is going to get worse.

My gcu expired on the 16th. I renwed the day before they announced they were getting rid of the program. Pre ordered cyber punk, bought spiderman goty and animal crossing for a friend. Man that was sweet while it lasted.

Mine ends tomorrow, have most of the major pre-orders I'm interested in paid for. But I keep looking through every game listed just to see if I'm missing anything. If anyone has some last minute recommendations please throw them out there. Sad day

Yeah, I was puzzled when you posted that. It was one of the few I was on the fence for as my GCU was expiring. Had it a reward pre-order bonus it would not have been as difficult of a choice.

 
Is anyone else having issues accessing their $10 gift card from P5R? When I hit claim gift card from my order page, it takes me to an error message page. appreciate for any data points!

 
Well I'm finally into my final month of GCU.  I definitely plan on making quite a few preorders and purchases before and like many of you, once I lose it, can't really see myself buying from BB unless the deal is really really good.

 
I finally got my points from buying preordering FF7 today, which I was able to turn into a 10 dollar cert...which now I have 2 months to decide how to use it. Shrug. I'm sure there will be a sale I'll throw my cert/money to sometime, hah.

I never do got double, and I also didn't get a 10 dollar cert...but I got the points that I was able to convert into the cert. I had mine set to give me certs for 5 dollars, because I don't spend that much money at Best Buy, so I saw the 500 points pending and switched it to 10..so now, I do have one.

So anyway, blah blah, check your account to see if those points are pending at all from your purchase. You can see your individual purchases if you log in under your account, and see the points that are attached to those as well.

 
They didnt tell my my elite was ending. My profile said spend thru Feb 2021 to continue elite. Then in march, they issued me $250 in certs.
I ended up ordering a switch lite and 2 games with them eventhough I dont need it.
If I return them, will my points go back and just get re issued?

Returns turn into as many points as they're worth. So you'll get points, rather than them being reissued, unless your account is set to reissue automatically.

 
It sucks that you can't use your reward points to buy PSN or Xbox Marketplace credit. There is nothing coming out anytime soon that I want, but I would be down to buy Streets of Rage 4 using my $20 FF7 Deluxe credit and only pay $5 out of pocket. Bleh!

 
At least you got your credit and didn’t pay like 3 times for FF7 Remake and then told that’s how it’s suppose be when I call and hung up on when I disagree. I got tired of calling so I went to Best Buy’s forum and I am still waiting to hear back. I preordered in 2016. I wish I didn’t preorder it back then. Sorry for the rant just needed to get it off my chest.
 
Finally got my $10 for Animal Crossing. Was able to get through to someone in their support chat. They were able to add the points fast. Just need to explain the situation and give odder number. Used it already towards Doom Eternal for $30!
