Best Buy exclusive Vengeance Trilogy tin

Got one yesterday evening with WalMart PM @ $39.86, the customer service rep tried to find the phone number for WM to check if they had it in stock, but she couldn't get it because of a problem with their computers so she just did the PM anyway.

I didn't see the box set anywhere on the shelves so I checked their inventory using their computer, and it showed they had 10 copies in stock. I asked the guy working in media about it and he was totally clueless. He checked their in-store inventory again, then saw that, for some reason, it's listed as "Lady Vengeance Trilogy" in their system, not "Vengeance Trilogy", so we went to go look under L on the shelves and it wasn't there. Then we looked in one of the media carts they use to stock the shelves, which I should have checked before, and there it was, all 10 copies. The guy even saw them and didn't even recognize them, he began to walk away until I stopped him and told him those were it.

I haven't opened it yet, but on the back it says "...in a deluxe 8-disc box set, includes the Fade-To-White version of Lady Vengeance, a beautiful 32-page booklet and more special features..." So are there 8 discs in here or are there only 4 as xage posted in here?

It sounds like they're reusing the back from the DVD version of the set, which has 8 discs. This seems to be confirmed to have 3 Blu-ray discs and 1 DVD.

I went... nothing there. The dude looked it up by SKU and there were 12 on order. So my guess is they didn't get to Jersey yet. :(

EDIT: Sigh just checked and it says Available at my store online. Shall go again after work.

Please be wise, do not waste GAS or be paranoid if you tried ordering via INSTORE Pickup. Online inventory checker is not accurate

Best way is to contact your nearest bestbuy via phone, request to be connected to the media dept. or inventory dept. and simply ask about SKU: 9739042 if it already delivered at their warehouse stock

WOOHOO just got mine from the Best Buy in Downers Grove IL, they had two left. I was about two seconds from getting the employee to price match out of sheer confusion as to why they had it and Walmart didn't. In they end I had to pay the $59.99 but I still think it's worth it. And yes there are 4 discs included and the extra disc is in the Lady Vengeance case. I was hoping the tin would have some embossed lettering or something but it's pretty plain. No extras except the book which is pretty lame but has some VERY nice pics from the films. My favorite pic is on the first page next to the introduction. Also the tin has a pretty awesome quote on the back.

Well I'm just glad we finally got these movies in HD. I just started watching Fade to White Lady Vengeance and it looks pretty good but kinda grainy.

The opening looks GORGEOUS!

Glad you were able to find this one. I'm going to be picking mine up during my lunch break. I'm going to try any see if they'll match Walmart's price, but I'm not going to give my hopes up.

I'm just mad that it had to come out at the same time as God of War 3. I'm not going to want to leave my house for a long time!

Haha, thanks! The price match seems pretty dependent on the employee you get. Bryan had good luck and I hope you do to. The guy I got was hell bent on finding out why Walmart didn't have it in stock and didn't want to give up. Haha, I'm glad I have today off to watch this and continue playing Yakuza 3 later. The three Best Buys I go to always price match Walmart.com. I've never had a problem in the past.
 
Shows up as in stock again at many of the Best Buys near me. Not sure that the tin is worth the extra $20 for me... I do already have it pre-ordered through Amazon. Hm, decisions, decisions.

Try price matching Walmart.com. It worked for me and a few others. It's worth a shot.
 
This might sound weird, but does anyone else thing they're packaging was used before? My tin has scratches on the inside and dirt on the back. The blu ray cases all have minor scuffing like they've been sitting on someones shelf for a year. Hehe, very strange.

I'm glad a lot of you are getting the price matching to work as many seemed to be on the fence about picking this up or waiting for Amazon. I would have probably bought this even if it was 80 or 90 bucks.

And low percentage of 100% pristine condition. majority are dented.

I will give it about a week and it will be scarce. especially as I noticed how hungry the rest were here and other forums awaiting for its release.
 
mine doesnt but the quality of the tin as I saw it from the rest are susceptible to damage same as the oldboy dvd tin.

Got mine today, they had about 3 or 4 on a cart, they all looked dent free. I'm going to keep it sealed and see where the price and availability go. Not that I'm expecting to be able to flip it, but I'm in no rush to watch them, and if they become rare, I won't mind picking up the regular set from Amazon in a few months.

Well I just finished all 3 and the quality on Lady and Mr. Vengeance is really good. Oldboy still looks kinda crummy but what the hell.

Now let's get Memories of Murder over here! And get crackin' on A Bittersweet Life blu!

Um, no it's not. If you pre-ordered online and didn't set it up for in-store pickup (which he didn't) it'll be mailed to you.
 
I decided to go for it. There were the copies at my Best Buy, none appeared to have any dents. Going to keep it sealed and see if it becomes valuable.

Edit: Wow, someone has one listed for $129.99 in a Buy it Now on eBay. I'd be surprised if anyone was willing to pay that for it.
 
Make sure to check your disc cuz there are issue where Lady Vengeance BD were misplace in Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance case. So don't leave before checking your disc. I suggest do it in store or at the parking lot. If you had duplicate disc, just return it for exchange.

damn I had no idea about this and sure enough I just checked and have Lady Vengeance inside the Mr. Vengeance case :bomb:

If you are going to flip on eBay as sealed then don't, unless you open it for inspection.
 
When you changed out yours at the same store w/ another one from the same shipment it was fine ? Just wondering if all from the same shipment might have the issue and I should try a different BB.

Did you watch the fade to white version? Also, does it give you the option to choose fade and the normal color version?

Man, I don't know if I should open or just wait to get it on amazon. Then again I went to bestbuy twice today to get the set. The second time, the employee found it in the back. :/
