To clear up any confusion, front row games are the games that are displayed at the checkout counters in large blue boxes. All the games have big white stickers with their prices on them. They range in price from 4.99-14.99. These are NOT normal stocked items, nor are they the yellow stickered items found in the normal game section. Some stores are now moving these games into their normal stock sections, but they will still have the white stickers on them. If they do not have a white sticker, they are NOT a front row game.

********
Etymology of the phrase "Front Row" *******************
********************************************************

The term front row game stems from the name on a receipt for these items. They will all show up with the generic title Front Row instead of their actual names. The term does not specifically have to do with the fact that these games are found in the front row of a store, although that was where they originally were found. If you find a game without a sticker in the front row of a store, IT IS NOT A FRONT ROW GAME. It is only a Front Row game if it has a white sticker with a price tag along with a white upc sticker covering the original sticker.

**********************************************************

**PLEASE READ THIS FIRST ***
Ratchet & Clank for 9.99 is a Frontrow Game ONLY. We all know it's 40 on the website. All frontrow games are NOT normal stock games and will not show up online. These prices are good IN STORE only.
I'm assuming you got to that price with gift cards or reward zone certificates as well?
No, that was the sticker price. It was a return/open box/refub item, but it was perfectly shrinkwrapped, the box in good shape, and inside had the manual (off course I only found that part out *after* purchase). It was just a lucky find. They had a handfull of other games, but mainly PSP stuff so I didnt pay much attention to what the titles were (I dont have a PSP...yet). Extremely YMMV!

I've got quite a few games in my trade list (incl. Valkyrie Profile Lenneth) that I'd trade for a brand new Sega Genesis Collection (PSP).
So, did anyone else decide to pick up a copy of The Bible Game just for the novelty of having a Bible game that might be some landmark in stupid games years down the road? Ya, I did, I'm keeping it sealed until I can find it in me to play a game based on the bible :)
LordD,

I almost got a copy of the Bible Game for XB for my nephew who has his first communion coming up (as a joke gift) then I read reviews on it and it had mediocre ratings from GameSpot:

'For the most part, though, even at the game's default trivia difficulty (it's set to the easiest), you'll get tough ones like "What did David take from Saul the second time he spared Saul's life?" Out of curiosity, we cranked up the difficulty to the highest possible setting to see what the questions looked like. If you can answer questions like "After returning to Jerusalem, how many years went by before Absalom saw David?" or "To whose house did David take the Ark of God from the house of Abinidab?" then perhaps it's time you applied to the nearest seminary.'

Bottom line, I passed even at $5.

Got The Godfather SE for $2! I found a bunch of 75% off games in the actual Xbox section of the store as opposed to the clearance rack. I guess nobody looks there?

At My Best Buy They Also Have

XBOX -

Matrix - Path Of Neo $4.99
Nba Live 2004 $1.99

Gamecube -

Simpsons Hit & Run $9.99
Rave Master $9.99

Nintendo DS -

Ultimate Spider Man $1.99
also, does anyone know if/when these games get re-stocked?
Double posting is bad. There is an edit button.
There's a trading post in the trading forum specifically for these games, so keep the trading in there.
It's been stated numerous times before that they do restock. That's why new games are being added to the list.

I have never seen any front row games in any Best Buy I have ever been too ever.

And bye-bye speedy. I, and hopfully others, have reported you.

Man, this thread is messing with my head - posts disappearing left and right . (methinks the mods are active today)

Anyway, didn't see 007 From Russia With Love PSP in the OP, but I think someone mentioned that before. I snagged one the other day with the PSP frontlane UPC tag - $9.99 like all the others (same UPC, so duh ;)).

Also, add Prince of Persia Sands of Time for Xbox at $4.99.

damn! went to bb tonight and both of the copies of Ninja Gaiden Black were gone >_<

was gonna buy 1 for me and 1 for this kid on gtz that lives in the middle of no where.

Made a run tonight with the coupon expiring soon.

Got several PSP titles, all $9.99 with frontlane stickers (though half were just in the regular aisle):

Ghost In the Shell Stand Alone Complex
Gunpey
Ultimate Block Party
Sega Genesis Collection
PacMan World Rally

Also saw restocked One Piece Grand Adventure and Pirate's Carnival for both GC and PS2.

I also picked up a PSP Go! Sudoku on a special table near the front along with other "special offers" at one store only (like NBA 2K6 for 360 for $19.99, Lemmings PSP for $24.99). The Sudoku said $9.99 and this store didn't have any cheap PSP games so I grabbed it. Glad I did as it was a NON-frontlane tagged game and rang up $1.99 . I guess this was part of the old clearance but I've forgotten most of those games. Later, at another store, I saw Go Sudoku tagged with $9.99 and the frontlane UPC's, so it is a frontlane game at most places.

Only disappointment was that I couldn't find Nanostray which I had really wanted to get. I saw one a couple of weeks ago and they rejected my coupons then. When I went back they were gone .

The BB in Porter Ranch, CA now has these games both in with the normal game section, and at the front cash registers... each section had some of the same titles, but some were different. Just a head's up, to look around a few different places if there's something you were looking for.

Just picked up Godzilla and Ghost in the Shell... couldn't resist. :)

Shaman King: Master of Spirits(GBA) was stickered at $9.99 but rang up $4.99. Was gonna use a coupon but it wouldn't work then I noticed it was cause it was a $5 game already. Either way, works for me.

Not sure if this happened to anyone else, but today I went to pick up a Halo 2 CE. A couple weeks ago they had shelves of the game, like 30 of them priced at 9.99. I go today, they are all gone, and the tag for the game is also gone. I seriously doubt anyone bought them all up because none of the other games were touched. Did BB pull them or something?
Yay! I scored Pacman world rally (PSP) for $5 after coupon yestersday. It's OK game but still worth $5.
Is it worth $10 though? I was on the fence and picked it up, but thinking about returning it after reading the below average reviews on metacritic.

Anyone else have Pacman World Rally and regret it? Is it very limited fun? Maybe I should use that money for something else better.

Finally scored a Sega Genesis Collection so that made me happier. :bouncy: But this time I was looking for Pinball and there weren't any.

These frontlane games seem so randomly restocked. They would never know what title is sold since it's all one generic UPC. Wonder how they distribute any given game... throw in a shipping box and voila you get what you get?

My initial impressions were that the framerate was too low. But then I adapted, studies the courses, and now I am having a blast. I really enjoy the music, particularly in the desert level. for $5 a good deal.

I went to pick up Exit today, after picking up Gunpey on Friday for $5.29 after coupon and taxes.

Exit, however, gave me trouble. I went to get it, and just like the rest of the front lane games, it had the $9.99 sticker on it, as well as the sticker over the UPC on the back of the box. The cashier dutifully scanned it first, and then the $5 off coupon. While the coupon scanned, it didn't validate. She told me that "It must already be on clearance.", but I objected, saying I'd bought one of the same titles two days before for $4.99 + tax. She called a manager, and the *manager* wouldn't do it. I was greatly puzzled by this, so I bought the game anyway, and promptly took it to a nearby BB on the way home. While there, the same thing happened at the Customer Service counter, only *they* were just as puzzled as I was, and endeavored to figure out why.

One reason is that not *every* one of those front line $9.99 UPCs are the exact same thing, and therefore, some would scan correctly with the coupon, and some just wouldn't. This BB promptly refunded my $5.30, giving me the game for $5.29, which is what I expected to pay from the beginning at the first store. Beware, however: there are wrinkles to this plan.

THANK YOU, OP, for helping me get these two games for $5 each. Great deals.

Any opinions out there as to whether Death Jr. is worth the $5?

saw sometype of BMX game for PSP in the 9.99 check out lanes, passed on it
found a copy of Ape Escape: One the loose, (hoped it was Academy but ) had red greatest hits sticker on it but orig. ver. rang up $4.99
also they had syphon filter for 14.99 so w/ coupon got it for 9.99
and picked metal gear acid for 4.99 after coupon
all the games I got were from the end boxes, it was like they just stuck a whole stack of stuff in there at closing time, some was tagged a with the X.99 tags and somethings weren't

Picked up a number of PSP games with the coupon today. I definitely recommend Gunpey for $5. It's not quite Lumines, but it's pretty good. My Best Buy didn't have Virtua Tennis, The Hustle: Detroit Streets, or Ghost in the Shell SAC (as far as I could tell). If anyone wants to trade for those, let me know.

By the way, it's a little late to point this out, but I believe that the "Crossword Puzzle" and "Puzzle Challenge" PSP games listed in the OP are in fact the same game "Puzzle Challenge: Crosswords."

Thanks for sharing. I returned it. Wasn't worth $10 now for me to wait and guess if I may like it when I wasn't feeling it on first impression.

Last night I picked up Dungeons & Dragons Demon Stone for the Xbox for $4.99.

I heard its decent. It was up front by the register
Frogger's: Adventures XXX (XBOX) $5
Poor frogger...another child star resorting to XXX porn.
Was Astonishia Story $9.99? I haven't seen that amongst the front lane games before.
It's been 9.99 at Sears for months.

But, no -- I haven't seen it at Best Buy at that price before.

I picked up One Piece Grand Adventure for the GCN as it reminded me so much of Tales of Symphonia. I wish they had a newer $5 off coupon for the GCN though but for $10 I can't complain much.

How does Grand Adventure remind you of Tales of Symphonia? They're not even alike. o_o

Still, it's a great game, although it has such horrible dubbing.
