Game pickup deadlines

Preordered tomb raider & god of war & both 1000 points pending plus they gave me an extra 2000 points, im not complaining one bit

They've never revised the list to include extra titles for later in the year, have they? And it always starts after the new year? Pretty much quashes any hope of getting PS4 launch titles at a discount.

PS4 launch is probably 8 months away. Why worry about pre-ordering games now? Maybe BB or other retailers will have some great deals on the launch titles anyway. It's not like all hope is lost of getting games at a discount once this current deal cycle comes to an end.

I have a question about price-matching another company's pre-order price. Let's say you pay by gift card at bestbuy.com for $60 but the pre-order price is $50 or $45 or whatever somewhere else. When you get it successfully price-matched, how long until the difference is added back to your card? Do you get it added back right away or does it not kick in until you pick up the game on release date?

I'm not worried about pre-ordering them now. I'm prioritizing my certs and BB gift cards for the rest of the year.
Was the preorder of Injustice at Toys R Us a short lived thing? I'm not seeing it on there now.
Interesting question. Ive always PMed after pick up. In my experience with PMs after pick up, its pretty quick, normally within an hour or so.

The funds will go back to the card after the order ships. The order is still pending/in process. So once it goes to charge the payment method it will see there is a difference and refund the difference back to the payment method.

My God of War CE transaction is now pending and it has the 1000 for pre-ordering and the 500 bonus for interacting with the Facebook app. What an awesome deal.

I am a bit concerned about the new price match policy when it comes to silver members. I had tried to PM fry's $49.99 gears preorder price on Wed and I got an email this morning saying I was credited 62 cents for a completely different order that I had never called about.. The CS rep I talked to just now seems to be a bit confused but they're saying competitor price matching is only on the day of purchase for silver members as well. I reread the BB policy and it says:

"Is the post purchase price match initially extended for Reward Zone Premier Silver customers?
Yes. Reward Zone Premier Silver customers will receive a 60 day post purchase price match to Best Buy's prices for purchases that occur on or before April 18, 2013. Reward Zone Premier Silver customers will receive a 15 day post purchase price match to Best Buy's prices for purchases that occur on or after April 19, 2013"

It sounds like they're only price matching BB prices for 60 days... I also wasted another 35 mins on the phone and no one seems to know what's going on. They're supposed to call me back before the end of the day as they are to figure out what the pm policy is supposed to be for silver members...

Yeah that was known since the policy was posted a few weeks ago. For purchases made after the 18th they will only PM Best Buy for 15 days, but you still have 60 day return policy.

OK, thanks. Maybe I should call back later and have the csr make a note of it in my account in case something goes screwy and the competitor's pre-order price changes in the meantime. I didn't even receive the confirmation email saying that I am getting the price match. I'm usually sent that email, and then the difference is then added to my account. Maybe the pre-order stops even this initial email to be sent.

Yeah, it looks like there's some confusion with the reps because I had the same problem when I called this morning. Got it worked out though.

You are right that you should get the price match because you are silver. I had a similar problem with a csr this morning. Be sure to explain that you are silver and explain that the policy states that we're good until April 19. Ask nicely for them to look up this policy on their computer and look specifically for the section regarding silver members. After working through this with the csr, I was able to get the price match this morning.

Incorrect, it was good they did it for you, but that goes against the new policy. They are only supposed to match Best Buy's own price after the initial purchase.

I was matching a pre-order price with a competitor. Maybe that's why they allowed it then.

By definition they shouldn't allow that either since it is not immediately available. I have no issue with anyone trying and getting it to work. I did it with Gears of War Judgment myself with the newegg price. I just don't want people thinking they are "in the right" despite was a CSR tells them to the contrary is all.

Ahhhh! I just preordered Bioshock Infinite. I don't see myself spending $40+ on any game given my backlog, but I just can't resist.

Yes & no, some titles have been pushed back. And they won't officially post new info until this promo is complete. B2G1 is stat quo for new console releases. But if games jump $70 that means there's gonna be a new sale price too. If $50 becomes the new $40 redbox will be my stock p/u & my PS4 place.

PS4 games won't cost $70. Also I'm pretty sure they referred to this as the "Spring 2013 Victory Can Be Yours" Promo since Last of us was suppose to be the last release in May. As we know games got pushed back but im sure they will do a Fall promo.

GTA V, Splinter Cell, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed IV, Stick of Truth, Saints Row IV and Call of Duty will likely be the games you see for fall. Maybe Battlefield 4. Madden 14 and NBA 2k14 as well.

My Metal Gear Rising points finally posted yesterday, (I was actually going to call today if they didn't show up.)

Order shipped on 2/14.

Orly?

Also GTA V and South Park are part of the current promo? Just saying...

Yeah, I know they are, as well as Splinter Cell, just saying since they got pushed back to fall, they will likely get pushed into the fall 2013 promo as well.

Beyond: Two Souls is another game that could be on that list.
Think if I pick up Bioshock at Best Buy to get the $20 reward zone points I could sell the sealed copy on craigslist for like $50?
I can't even sell new games week 1 for $45 where I live. :(
Think if I pick up Bioshock at Best Buy to get the $20 reward zone points I could sell the sealed copy on craigslist for like $50?
You can, but you have to consider tax. For me tax would be almost $6, so doing this would amount to using $16 to buy a $20 cert. This would only be profitable back in the PMing days.
I can't even sell new games week 1 for $45 where I live. :(
You either live in a small city or you are not advertising enough.
I can't even sell new games week 1 for $45 where I live. :(
You have GS where you live right? If so, those idiots who pay full price + tax will jump on $50 tax free. Once you get a staple of regs. $10-$15 off MSRP will be enuf to keep them coming back over & over. I sold Persona 4 golden for $30 twice to regs, it's $20 on clearance in the shopping center across the street from the mall I met them at. At this poit I rarely post stuff on CL I just email/text my regs with CAG's deals. TTT2 & ZoE easy $30 each.
PS4 games won't cost $70
Do you work for Sony? Because what I've read from Sony they left themselves wiggle room regarding price. And since the systems are usually not where the profit comes from the games prices will have the most impact. There's a reason a 32 GB PSvita memory card is $100 MSRP but PS4 won't be able to use overpriced memory.

http://www.emirates247.com/business...e-get-ready-to-spend-more-2013-03-11-1.498133

Earlier last month, speaking with CNBC, Jack Tretton, the President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America, had said that, for the upcoming gaming console, Sony “will offer games with prices ranging from $0.99 to the more traditional $60 range with the ability for players to sample games before they buy.”

They could've said prices will remain the same & touted the $0.99 & up as a positive direction for the future which would've been a major PR win. It's certainly not set in stone either way but I could easily see higher priced MSRP's coming. I won't be buying at $65 or $70 I just pm when it hit my ranged or buy bulk when there's a worthy deal.

Just a quick question I was wondering if anybody had an answer for.

I preordered gears judgement on Sunday, well when I got home and jumped online I realized my GCU had expired earlier that week. I plan on going up there tomorrow and renewing but I was wondering if this will effect me getting the 20 back since I wasn't GCU when I preordered? Do you have to be GCU for the preorder and the purchase or just the purchase only?

Thanks in advance.

As of this morning my Crysis 3 pts just posted and God of War CE show pending but no pts for Tomb Raider yet. Just in case anyone's been waiting on their pts check your RZ acct.

I forgot to renew my GCU after I picked up my Dead Space 3 preorder (release date 2/5/13) and then I re-upped the next day (2/6/13) and I still got my $20 cert after my points cleared 35 days later.

As long as you renew on the same day you should be fine although the BB T&C recommends no later than within the same transaction of your preorder pickup (if not at least before).

Did you get the automatic email that is usually sent when they allow a price match (before they actually credit your account when the order is picked up)? Or is your situation like mine in that you haven't received any automatic email reply or notification whatsoever?
Can I pick up God of War and get the $20?
If you preordered it today is the last day to pick it up to be eligible for the $20

I did not do a post pre-order price match. I called in and had them place the order for me at that moment, so I won't be getting any credit back, I just paid $39.99-20RZ+tax for it.

You can really push it and preorder at 11:59 pm and do in store pick up on Monday, lol.

I'm having problems with missing points for my God of War preorder and and my Tomb Raider pre order. I am currently on hold with best buy because I was just told you can't pay with gift cards or reward certificates when you pre order or pick up the pre orders and also be eligible for the $20 coupons.

Is this true? Anyone else get points but also use gift cards? I trade in lots of games, and use that money towards the games....this makes NO SENSE!

You can use gift cards, read the FAQ link in the OP for more info.

That is 100% not true. They pulled that crap on me a few weeks ago and I was the person who brought the huge oversight and crap training to the BB forum peoples attention. If they pull this on you point them to this:
http://forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Reward-Zone-Gamer-s-Club/Victory-Can-Be-Pre-Ordered-2013-FAQ/td-p/659585

That says flat out that using RZ/GC does not void the 1000 points.
