Best Buy's customer service sucks (venting)

Ok.
So, in the beginning of the month I bought a Xbox 360 Arcade from BB. My original 360 red ringed on me and MS customer service told me all they wanted was my 360. So I figure, by the time my original 360 got back to me, it wouldn't be more than 31 days return policy, hence I return the Arcade from BB and get my money back.

So just yesterday I went to BB and gift receipt in hand. Stood in line and was helped by a fat lady with pimple puss all over. Anyway, I told her that I had the Arcade as a gift and I don't want it. She checks the box out and says "everything looks good, do you have the receipt?" I then replied "I only got the gift receipt" Then she says that according to BB's policy I'll only have a gift card back. Then she says that if I have the original receipt I can have cash back. So I later asked if I could come back the next day with the original receipt and she said yes.

Original 360 came and time to return the arcade...

This is when I get pissed...

Today I went to the same BB and this time got help from a girl that seemed like she knew everything, but in reality she doesn't. First off, I told her I wanted to return the arcade. She checked out the box as if she were trying to find something wrong with it. She then finally goes "where's the headset?"... "am I blind or there isnt' a headset here?" She then calls a guy from the video game department. At this point I feel disrespected, not only is she assuming that somethings missing, but shes blaming me for the headset being missing. So then I say, "it says on the box headset sold seperatly." After all that nonsense she asks for my receipt, I gave it to her expecting for cash in return. Instead she said that I could only have a gift card. By this point I was outraged!!! I then raised my voice and said "there was a lady here yesterday that said I could have cash back if I had my original receipt!!" Then she changes her mind and says "oh!?, anything over $250 we would have to mail you a check" Then as if it was coordinated, puss face appears and says she would help me out. I then ask her if she remembers saying I would have cash back. And she said yes, looks at that girl that was helping me in the first place and says "oh no, we don't give cash back for anything over $250" I smiled at puss face and the other girl and left:)

Sorry for the vent, this is the first time I've dealt with this kind of rude uncalled for attitude.

The headset girl got pwnd!!!! that's what my girlfriend said after we both left the store...:)

Yeah pretty much. But hey, its okay to yell at people who are just doing their job because they MUST be accusing you of being a thief or something, right?
 
So you bought the arcade knowing you were going to return it, just so you could have a system to play until your other gets repaired/replaced? I hate it when people think that is acceptable to do. That is like buying a new TV just for the superbowl and returning it the day after. Take your ass to rent-a-center.

From the back of EVERY Best Buy receipt....

"Refund will be in the same form as original purchase. EXCEPTIONS: Cash, debit or check purchases over $250 will be refunded in the form of a check by mail within 10 business days."

So in the end, the point of this thread is you bitching about not thinking your scam through properly and getting pissed when Best Buy follows their completely obvious return policies which slightly inconvenience you.

LOL, I love when people trying to beat the system get screwed over. There is nothing right with what you were doing. You knew the risk of your console busting on you when you bought it, you had a creative workaround, but it didn't quite work out for you.

The policy is most likely in place for incidents like this.

I feel the same way. I know I might be buying a 360 soon and would be pissed to find out that it's one that someone returned because they needed a "loaner" console for a couple weeks while their first system was being fixed. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if this is why some 360s screw up hours after buying it.

Naturalskill, if you needed one for a couple weeks, just rent one from rent-a-center or somewhere. Don't pull crap like this and then whine cause you had a tough time returning it.
 
If you're going to bitch about a store, make sure it's about a policy of theirs that they didn't follow.

...like the time CC wouldn't PM an ad for me without verifying it was in stock at the other store, when their policy states they PM 115% with an instock verification and 100% with an ad.
 
1. you know its wrong to buy something to use it within the given time to return. its just plain wrong.
2. you didn't realize it was wrong until now, hence the flamming. so way to go.

What the... You got what you wanted... how is that bad customer service for Best Buy? They bent the rules for you If i read it right. Seriously, what kind of tool "Rents" stuff from best buy... seriously. Worst thread Ever.
 
lol, I wasn't trying to be such a dick now that I re-read it. But seriously, I see so many posts that the theme of the OP is that they're trying to justify some kind of work around. Just follow the rules... sometimes you get screwed over in life.

What part of they need to verify it's IN STOCK before PMing don't you understand? I mean, admittedly, you could've tried PMing when a teen or tween was running the register at the desk where you PM, since most times they'll just go 'it's probably in stock' and just get a manager to approve it without so much as a call.

This is why I go to the store where the item is on sale that I want to try PMing BEFORE I go to the store I'm gonna PM at to verify they have it.

The policy clearly states that they'll refund 100% of the difference based on an advertised price within 30 days after purchasing.
I purchased the game for $59.99 and then asked for the 100% difference and they said no, I would have to come back when it was in stock.
I said no thank you, returned the game, and went over to BB (who PMed it for me).
 
This actually sounds like one of the better Best Buy return stories I've heard. I've read people getting more problems with sealed merchandise, and your shit was used!! fuck that dude, you have no room to bitch other than yourself being a total fucking idiot.

Meh.. I would've took my ass to the rent a center, but they don't rent out 360's here.

I didn't call the woman a pussface.. It's just, that's how she looks like.. I have no other way in describing her...

I didn't think anything, all I thought was that "gift receipt = cash back" but in reality... "gift receipt = gift card" Obviously I didn't want that, I wanted the cash, but yah, they sent me a check instead

If you hate dealing with customers.. I'd suggest another job... Just my opinion

LOL.. Yes, I did count the risk factors like, "what if the arcade crapped out on me, and what if this what if that" Oh well, it's the last time I'm doing it, too much hassle

Yess, agreed.
It's too much of a hassle, and honestly, I would've rented one if they had a place here that did that.

I'm not whining because I had a tough time, I'm just saying "Best Buy customer service suck, because I don't like the fact that they assume and they say one thing and change their minds the next..." kudos!!

I hate CC, I still have a rain check for "Lost Planet" when it was $20.

I got what I wanted yes, bad customer service because one lady told me I could get cash back.. then came in the next day and the other lady assumed I stole something and said I only could get a check back..., I agree about the worst thread ever.. :whistle2:#
