Best deal on God Of War?

I've heard such great things about this game. Can anyone suggest a resource where I can get a new copy? The more inexpensive, the better.

I don't, unfortunately. I live in Bay Area California.

So the resource would have to be either an online one or a national B&M chain.
 
Target had it on sale a couple of weeks ago for $28.88. You can try your local Blockbuster since they have a 25%OFF used games sale. Best Buy might be a good place to try as well using the $10 OFF coupon. That's all I can think of.
 
Your best bet at this point is the BB $10 off coupon. Gamefly used to be selling it at $30, but now you have to rent it and then use their keep it now option. Target also recently had it for $30.
 
Well, it came out on 3/2005, so it's now eligible for Greatest Hits status.

Should be $20 everywhere now.

just b/c it's eligible for GH status, doesn't mean it is a GH and is 20 bucks
 
I got some for $9.98 but can get more for $9.98 each but first i prefer to get them, in my hands again .

It's sold over a million copies, and it's been nine months since it was released. What's the point of having GH titles if they don't make titles GH? :roll:

Microsoft did it with Halo, Nintendo did it with Mario Kart: Double Dash.

And now, Sony is doing it with God of War.

Anyway, I picked it up during the temp price cut at Target. Great game!
 
If you don't mind used and disc-only, I know various Blockbusters were putting them out refurbished for 9.99...that's how I got my copy. Maybe you'd still be able to find one and get the 25% off.
 
man i really want this game, i want it to drop to 29.99 at bestbuy befor 1/31 so i can buy it as a greatest hit price[19.99] AC. lol. and so i can pick up DMC3 for 15 bucks AC

They would've done that on Ratchet and Clank and Grand Theft Auto games too, but they didn't.
 
Got God of War and RE4(ps2) for christmas, but due to TRU clearance sale, I havent had a chance to play them yet, both are still sealed, sitting on my self just waiting to be played....

My suggestion was simply the 4-for-1 deal, not a direct buy. Buy 4 used games from EB/GS/wherever for ~$20, trade for new GoW.

Yikes, I can't deal with that. I'm a bit... hmmm how do you say... obsessive compulsive... when it comes to the pristine condition of my goods.

I just don't like knowing anyone else having touched/tarnished/tainted the disc or manual. That's why I tend to not buy used CDs, DVDs, or games.

I don't mind paying full price for a game, the security of an untouched item is worth it to me. The thing is, I KNOW I can get a better deal on it.

I'm hoping to get it at $29.99 somewhere, new and selaed. Better yet, I hope I can catch a non GH copy at GH pricing ($19.99) in the transitionary period from non GH to GH. I was able to do that with Soul Calibur 2 and GTA: VC way back when.

I hate that red stripe.

Anyhoo, thanks for the help on this, posters. Please continue the vigil and give me a heads up if and when this game drops.
 
I broke down and paid full retail for God of War. And, although I haven't cracked it open yet, I can't say that I have any regret in paying full price for it.

Funny, as soon as I decided I would commit to the price and actually started looking for it, I couldn't find it anywhere. Fry's, TRU, BB, GS, EB - all were out.

Then I realized that Sony of all people should have it, so I went into Sony Style, where they had 2 copies left.

It was better than making the trek to the Metreon in SF.
