Best deals on must-have DS lite accessories?

Just recently purchased a DS lite. Planning on returning it some time in the next 30 days to pick up any decent DS bundle/deal instead of MSRP. This was a test drive.

When I get the next one, though, I am OCD and want my money/games to last me a long time, so I'm looking for your recommendations in regards to the best (and cheapest!) DS lite accessories.

I already hear Hori screen protectors are the cream of the crop, and I saw them shipped for 5.something on MTV.com. Have you guys had decent experiences with them? They're 6 on Amazon, so no big deal either way.

Still looking for:

Carrying cases
Car Charger
Quality earphones
and whatever you recommend!

Don't lemme down fellas.

You want your investments to be worthwhile, but you want to buy accessories for something you plan to return within a month?
 
I agree, this post confused me too. If you want accessories, just buy something like this:

Example.

Why would you want to buy a screen protector? They always leave sticky residue and no matter how well you place it, you'll eventually get air bubbles.

I edited it for clarity. Having reread it, it was some terrifying amalgamation of a conversation I was having with a friend while I was typing. An extreme use of commas, to boot.

Basically picked one up to try while I waited on a deal, and I was looking for some accessories to compliment them or even try out on the first one.

Per the 2nd response, yeah, I had those fears, also, but I heard the Hori screen protectors are fantastic, and having a scratched up screen would drive me insane. Nothing I have now would really worry me, but a touch-heavy game in the future definitely seems like it could scratch it up.
 
I have to second the Hori screen protectors. Especially if you're going to play Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents. My phat DS was scratched up by the first Ouendan, so I bought screen protectors for my Lite. After EBA and Ouendan 2 I removed the old scratched to hell screen protector and put on a new one. DSlite saved for $6 if you ask me. Target and Fry's has them B&M.

Any headphones work on the DS too btw. I prefer canal headphones but it's all personal preference.
