Best fight scene ever, "They Live"

they live was cool but the absolute best ..............the best fight scene ever was with tommy lee jones and benecio del torro in The Hunted. that shit was sick , crazy and awesome on so many levels. one of the best ending fight scenes you will ever see in a film. theres only 2 other scenes that even come close to being that awesome and that the fight at the end of last of the mohicans and the fight at the beginning of gangs of new york. if youve never seen these movies do so they are great. sorry i dont know how to embed these.

i have always liked south park's 'cripple fight' with timmy and jimmy recreating the fight scene from 'they live'.

Obviously no one here has seen Dead Alive/Brain Dead. I present the best fight put to film. I mean, how can you disagree with a kung-fu priest who "kicks ass for the Lord?"

You guys really need to start putting the names of the movies with these clips. Im enjoying this way too much.

Clip #2 was pretty weak, as was the first. There was a clip on here a while back, a foreign film that ended with a bunch of duded in an elevator that just get the shit kicked out of them. Was a side-scrolling camera angle but I dont remember what it was called.

Sounds like Oldboy.

fuck all those other fights. The "They Live" fight is still the best due to the way it starts.

"TRY THESE ON."

::pUNCH::

"Put on these glasses...or start eating that trash can."

Not sure which Drunken Master it was - hell, it might be the scene Over easy linked to above - but there's one scene in there that kicks the shit out of anything that I've ever seen. Flying corkscrew headbutt > you.

I just saw this video on Youtube and this could be the best fight scene evar!!!

-This entire fight scene was filmed on one camera, with no wires, no camera tricks. -

Yeah, that's Drunken Master II. The end fight in the foundry held the record as the longest fight scene put to film for a long time. Since everyone is showing Jackie love, how about Sammo Hung? He's a big boy, but that just means there's more of him to kick your ass. From "Magnificent Butcher," an early Yuen Woo Ping classic (the good stuff starts at about 4:20):

Old skool? Hells yes.
Here's an incredible Jackie Cha fighte scene from "Wheels on Meals":
Interesting tidbit for anyone who might not know: Jackie's opponent is Benny "The Jet" Urquidez, who retired from professional kickboxing with a ... 76-0 record, I think? Yeah. They have a rematch in "Gorgeous," and Benny is also the Basque hit-man that John Cusack shanks with a pen in "Grosse Point Blank."
There are no zombies vs sharks in here, so this whole thread is a failure.
that was one of the most original and coolest scenes in a zombie film ever. hell that whole film is the shit on so many levels.

It's the fact that the "They Live" fight is not super over the top that makes it good, it's a legit fight that could happen in real life. Like the car chase in Bullitt. It's not a "Gone in 60 seconds" car chase, it's a real feeling car chase surrounded in realism that makes it so good and considered the best of all time.
fuck Bullit. Ronin's chase was cooler. ;) (props that at least someone here familiar with Bullit, my dad's always going on about that movie's car chase)

::waits for someone to post Blues Brothers clip::
fuck that. It's obvious fantasy since no woman could ever drive that well.

Also: Bullit is the shiznit.

I nominate the fight scene from the Jet Li movie "The Mask". The actual fight scene isn't anything great until you get to the end. The woman gets handcuffed and instead of giving up, just ups and chops off her hand to escape.

Oh, and I second Jimmy and Timmy's Cripple Fight. Pure hilarity.

Oh, and my favorite might be Bruce Lee and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in "Enter the Dragon." It's kind of ridiculous that Kareem's weakness is bright light but that movie was so good and that scene was so memorable for me that I'd put it up there.

Movie was called Black mask, and you mention that but don't mention the crazy fight at the end between the commander and Jet Lee?! They completely gave up on tactics, just started going a mile a minute throwing punches kicks and stabs

I've only seen the movie when I was completely stoned. I don't remember much of the movie other than chick cutting off her own hand. I should see if I can rent it on Netflix.

EDIT -- Thanks for the clip. That brings back the fuzzy smoke clouded memories.

Holy crap. I totally forgot about this movie. I used to watch it a lot when I was a kid. James Ryan kicked ass. He was also good in "Kill or Be Killed"
