I originally posted this in the Other Deals/Request forum but got zero responses and I'm in a bit of a time crunch, so I thought I would repost it here:

My parents are remodeling my old bedroom with mounting the HDTV in there to the wall and are going to need to get a Blu-Ray player setup before completing the job. I need to advise them on which player to get.

They have ZERO interest in games so PS3 is out. Given PS3 being out and it will get occassional use, I think a sub-$150 player would be best. Also, they live in an area with no broadband access (their internet is currently Verizon 3G Mi-Fi card) so Netflix/Hulu Plus streaming access isn't necessary, but would be nice if regular broadband ever becomes available.

I would say ease of use is the No. 1 priority, with picture quality 2nd, then the other options. I imagine all players do it, but it has to be able to play music CD's as well.

I would rather get a model available at Walmart, Target, or Best Buy since they are going to be doing this within a week and those are the only retail stores available to them, but if there is a super awesome model only available on Amazon then I would need to tell them now so it could get shippped.

Thanks in advance.

Add another vote for the panny bdt110. I believe cnet.com said it had the fastest load up time, small footprint design, great pq/aq, etc. It does come with avatar 3d that fetches $80+ dollars on eBay because it's currently a panasonic exclusive so you might end up gettig a free bd player. I have one waiting to be hooked up this Friday, pending a delivery of a new tv.

Edit: the cnet review was based off the bdt210 but it's the same player minus a wifi dongle and the motion activated tray opener feature.

Thanks for the responses. Unfortunately like I said, I was in a bit of a time crunch and I wanted to originally post in here, but I figured Shrike would get rid of the thread because technically this doesn't belong here. And that other deals forum didn't respond all day yesterday.

I ended up getting this one: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004K1EOAC/ref=cm_sw_em_r_am_ip_am_us?ie=UTF8

My parents aren't big movie watchers. I actually don't know why my mom sprung this, but I guess since she's mounting the TV she wanted to have a disk player in case they or I wanted to play a movie on it. I never worry about individual player ratings because of the PS3. I ran the Panasonic past my mom and she wasn't interested because they won't get 3D TV's and they probablty won't use the built-in wireless. But I know of a good player if I ever want a 2nd. Thanks again.

I have a brand new- in box, panny BDT110. Letting it go cheap. Let me know.

how much? this is a old player.

Find a friend who has a Blu-ray player and no PS3. Make him an offer, so he can use that money towards a PS3.

Since the OP already made their purchase this may be a moot point but...
Ordinarily I would also recommend the Panasonic BDT210 (even if you don't have any intentions of ever connecting it to a 3D TV) - after all, it's the top of the line Panasonic BD player (if you don't need 2 HDMI outputs, which you won't if you don't do 3D) and around $150 it's kind of a no-brainer. However, given that the target audience doesn't watch that many movies and ease of use is the number 1 criterion, I'd buy a BD-player from the same brand as the TV. That way (at least that's the case with my Panasonic BD-player and TV) you can use the same remote to control both the TV and the BD player.
