Picked up 24 s5... I would love to buy the Wire sets, but maybe I will get some Gift cards for X-mas..

BOOOOO I was going to pickup at store but I got an e-mail saying it wasn't in stock, but I'm getting free shipping so it works out I guess.
 
I highly recommend From The Earth to the Moon as well. My favorite DVD last year.

I picked up 24 Season 5 for myself, and Sex and the City the complete series (For $104 shipped!) for the girl.
 
The two HBO sets I really want right now - seasons 2 of Deadwood & Carnivale - are expensive even at 50% off. :whistle2:(

The Wire is tempting, but I hate to start yet another series.

You wont regret it. The Wire is easily one of the best shows on tv. Its right up there with Deadwood and Rome.
 
ughhh i didn't wanna spend more money...but i just bought 24 Seasons 4&5, plus Band of Brothers. DAMN YOU, BEST BUY!

Although somehow the site forgot to charge me the $7 tax i was supposed to get. perhaps because i'm picking up some things and having others shipped?
 
Six Feet Under set is a DAMN GOOD DEAL. Sex and the City set also....not bad for the prices...almost can make a few dollars on EBAY.
 
Thanks OP. Just spent $200 on DVD sets, when I told myself I wouldn't buy any more until I went thru all the sets I purchased on blackfriday and before.
 
I've still got DVDs from Black Friday sitting on the shelf, still in celephane, completely unwatched, yet I'm still tempted to add that six feet under set to the Ali G and Dane Cook Vicious Circle I bought this morning, as it's unlikely to ever be that cheap again.
 
Good deal OP I picked up Six feet under for that price it's a steal, I felt like crap when I missed the chance at it for 160 at buy.com this is soooo much better thanks.
 
Picked up the last Wire S1 in store, only one each of S2 and S3 available. Oddly enough, there was a ton of 24: Season 5 and a few S1's, but none of the other seasons. Also picked up one of those sampler things with an ep of Rome, Entourage, and Big Love, since I'm new to this whole HBO thing. Only reason I got the Wire was because of everyone touting it as the greatest show in TV history, so it better be good...
 
If I had the money to spare on my credit card, I'd definatly order the Six Feet Under set. Cheapest I've ever seen it is 180 bucks at Sams Club and 190 at DDD
 
Ugh, I just bought the complete Ali G series for my girlfriend for Christmas from Amazon.. for $36. I emailed them to see if they're refund me the difference but I doubt it.. wonder if I can get one from BB in time for qualifying for Amazon's return policy.

Might as well pick up both if you're going for S1, because you'll definately want to get S2 after watching a few episodes. Both for $30+ is a steal when each set retails for $30 alone.
 
So how is Rome? I had never heard of it today until I bought it. I knew Rome had lots of violence so I'm hoping it's good...I'm trying to decide if I should return it for Band of Brothers or keep it and watch it...Although I highly doubt I can return it now with them closing soon...Someone convince me to open it? All the reviews on Amazon seem good.

Rome is fantastic in my opinion. It's in my top 5 all time favorite shows. That being said however, I'd give it up for the Band of Brothers set if you havent seen that series yet. Band of Brothers is about as close to tv perfection as you're gonna get (other than MST3k :)) and you'll never find it for a better price than $33.99 or whatever it is at for today only.
 
I picked up 24 season 5 in-store today. I now have all 5 seasons after the $16 deal they had at Target over Black Friday weekend. Now to find the time to watch 120 episodes.

I though about Rome, but I just don't have the funds.

Band of Brothers is a "Must Buy" for anyone that doesn't already have it. By far the best mini-series ever. I think I have watched mine like 6 or 7 times.
 
=\ ive spent so much money this holiday season. Just bought BoB and Entourage S1 & S2. I am hoping the show is as good as ppl say ( Entourage ). Merry Christmas !
 
Rome is definitely worth that price, IMHO. Just finished watching the set last night, and the story is great (and historically accurate, for the most part).

not bad for 220+12 for shipping.


thinking about placing another order for entourage/deadwood/six feet under before midnight...
