I just picked up 1 copy about half an hour ago (around 6pm) so the coupon still works. The thing is that I didn't know that you had to print out more than one coupon or get the coupon re-scanned in order to get the discount on the additional games so I only was able to get one copy of SMB. I wanted to only get 2 in the first place, but I am still happy with one copy.

One store the coupon only worked on 1 game & one store the manager had to override it for it to even work on 1 game (not sure if I had used the same coupon twice and if that was why). One store it worked but I only tried 1 game. Sent the 3 to Gazelle! Now what I'm wondering is if it is safe to add all of them to my rewards account or not?

How can you add them to your RZ account? Did you pay cash for them? I ask because I paid using the DealTree gift card and I think the purchases still showed up towards my RZ account points total, which I didn't think they would since usually purchases made via gift cards don't.

As for my transactions, they both had the asterisk next to the games and they both had that grey screen show up on each copy scanned when the coupon was entered. That required the employee to approve or deny the discount of $20 a copy.

Maybe I'm missing the point but....don't ALL these purchases go on your Reward Zone account, regardless of payment type or other factors?

A. You are using a RZ coupon.
B. You must scan your RZ card to use a RZ coupon.
C. All purchases made during that transaction now get attached to your RZ account.

Yes?

As for how risky it is....well, yeah, it carries some risk. But nobody knows how BB catches folks or how far you have to abuse things to get noticed.

I've scored dozens of "free" games during the various RZ glitches in the past year and my account is just fine.

It takes me a while to get any certificates, anyway... Since all I buy are free (or severely discounted... SMB) games and penny guides :) Other than the TV I just got (which was still only $449). I figure screw 'em if they cancel me. I'll make up another account with the name BB Sucks and use that instead...

How is everyone getting just cause 2 cheaper then even 29.99? On bb.com it says it's 59.99 and with the $20 of coupon, that brings it to 39.99. Is their something I'm missing?

For some headsup, the Fort Collins bestbuy still has ~10 copies of SMB. I've just had bad luck in getting the same manager that said no-go to a discount on the sale price both times.

Good question, I'm pretty confused myself. I might have to print out the coupon and head up there.

Maybe some of them were getting the PC version and/or had RZ certificates that they also used, but they didn't mention using those when they posted.

SMB in my Best Buy's computer said that 29.99 was the reg price when I bought 3 yesterday... The manager tried to get me on it was a sale item before he even looked it up, but the computer said it was regular. lol

For those worried that Best Buy will ban your RZ account from abusing glitches/coupons/etc., don't worry. I've used my RZ card on every purchase I've ever made and that includes penny guides, October's B2G1 glitch, August's free preorder bonus glitch, the free FTF coupon, and a wide assortment of other things that may seem unsavory to corporate BB. I'm still running strong and according to my friend that works at BB, I'm a level 5 customer (which apparently means I'm a very valuable customer to BB).
just got split second, and it's awesome, but 7 gig install, woo that's huge. i gotta start deleting my ps3 porn stash, lol
Porn?!? PS3?!? I must know more. That would make my new favorite console the PS3 ;)

I'm still using the OG RZ card that they sent to my mom when I was an employee at BB back in 2001/2002 when they first started the program and used to charge $9.99/year to be a member. I've been the only person to ever use the account even though it's under her name I've never had any problems, even after taking advantage of the X-Blades and SuperMonkeyBall glitches.

just ya know, movies in the movie folder. im not streamn it or anything. it plays all vid types. puretna.com n empornium.us for my free movies the last 5 years :)
iv had 2 terabyte drives die on me tho, so no more external harddrive porn caches anymore.

The actual install size is only 3.7 gb, it's a typo on the game box. So you got room for more porn.

Good news, thanks!

The coupon still works as of 2pm (Mountain time) today. I was able to pick up the last 2 copies. The cashier didn't give me any problems, although she forgot to scan my rewards zone card. After hearing people say they were banned I'm sorta happy she didn't. All I have to do now is report my purchases on BB.com and I'm all good.

Actually, I think people were saying in the BB/DT trade thread that Gamestop was banning them for buying multiples of some games and other reasons.

Although I think a few here were banned for various reasons from using the RZ card too.

EDIT: fuck. It would appear that the prior explanation on using any type of gift card was correct. Those transactions won't count towards the RZ total. Every one of the Super Monkey Ball purchases shows a total of the purchase, but no individual amount for each item in the transaction.

Ah well. I still have the six RocketFish controllers I purchased showing up towards the total hopefully.

Thanks for clarifying. I wasn't too sure and thought it was a little far-fetched for them to ban me based off me buying only 3 games.

I am unaware of these, please clarify with more info so that I may be more prepared for the next time around

I gotta say--using your RZ account to buy penny guides seems....dumb.

I never use my RZ card when buying penny guides. There is no benefit but lots of risk (if someone looks at your account, a list of $.01 transactions is going to increase your risk of banning). It's just not worth it for an extra $.01. :whistle2:k

Well, this setup seems to have resulted in great sales for SMB.

On Saturday, picked up a second one at a local Best Buy. (Picked up the 1st for the family a couple weeks ago.) They still had 5 left.

Went back on Sunday to pick up another, but they were all gone. No way that game is that popular without the trade-in deal.

While we're on the subject of risk and such, I have some gift certificates available to print off. Now, two of them I already used but they can still be printed off (last I checked). If I would do so, would they actually work since I already used them or no?

What, no spankwire.com? Amateur...

The B2G1 glitch in October was where you could buy three games of any price (two $5 and one $60) and end up getting the more expensive game for free as long as it was rang up second. The free preorder bonus glitch in August was where you could preorder Uncharted 2 and get both the Uncharted 2 preorder and another preorder for free. The result of this was a ton of free preorder bonuses (since you never paid anything for the preorders, they wouldn't save you anything on the purchase).

I've always done it because it makes the purchase seem more legitimate to the cashier. They always ask for it before the purchase, so I figure why not. I honestly don't think BB bans any customers for any reason. Gamestop does, yes, but that's because they have a policy against resellers. BB does not.

Agreed with Doom; I've taken advantage of a lot of BB freebies over the years, and besides that, basically only purchase sale/clearance/open box/deep discount stuff; if there ever was a by their definition "devil customer", it's me.

But I still drop a ton of money in that place (I've been Reward Zone Silver since the program started, so that means I've spent at least $5000 there in the last 2 years), so I don't see them wanting to keep me out of their stores anytime soon.

Also, I use my RZ card on every transaction, as well.

I got funny looks by the media guy @ BB when I picked up Crimecraft. He said... "That's one hell of a LAN party!"

:lol::lol::lol:
Got 10 SMB's using the coupon... is that enough to get banned?
If I had the extra change right now, I'd do the same. Turning $100 into $250...yeah doesn't take a rocket scientist there.

I think I've spent a whopping $100(if that) over the last 2-3 years and most of that was from the Rocketfish controllers recently. The last item besides cheap/free games and guides I bought there was my original Xbox for $150 and the replacement plan for it, which allowed me to get $150 in credit two years later when I used the plan at the very end of it since the OG Xbox was off the market by then.

So essentially I've spent $120 in 5 years at BB. In other words, I'm an expendable devil customer.
whats the deal with SMB?
read the thread a few pages back.... but basically you buy the game for like ~11, then flip it for 25...

you're getting the game for $11 and flipping it where? I called gs the other day and was told they're only giving like $9 and change for it so where exactly is it that people are trading these in to?

cmon guys. you are being way too friendly. people know how to read. It's like the cag who asked io to post flips on his bbv thread, telling cags about deals is one thing, having to tell everyone every few pages about deals that have been going for weeks is overkill... (sorry, havnt toked in a week, after 10 years of multidaily...)

Traded them into Walgreens. $25 a pop its really good deal and Walgreens is topnotch. Just go up to the makeup booth and give them the games. Works like a charm.

I'm all about the "read the last few pages" stuff-- but some of the conversations that happen in this thread are so cryptic and tight lipped that it's impossible to figure out what's going on even if you read the last few pages.

I spent about 30 minutes on Saturday trying to figure out exactly what the deal was on JustCause2 and S/S-- I mean, from what I could tell you were getting it for $30 and $40 (respectively), and those aren't really great deals.

Actually, I beg to differ on Just Cause 2, since there's just so much ground to cover and so many little secrets to find. It's well worth the $30 pricetag. Now Split Second on the other hand.....meh.
