Better case than the PGP?

RiCeBo1

CAGiversary!
I don't really like the PGP anymore, it's too damn bulky and heavy. Is there a better case than that?

the black series case:

I have both the Play Gear Pocket and the Play Gear Street. While the Street is even bigger than the pocket, I don't really trip because I can carry UMDs AND am better able to manage the headphone cords. No dangly wires for me! WOOT!

Woah, that Black case is really slick. I read that the metal latch is problematic though, anyone have any issues with that?

Damn. Someone should combine the aspects of the Black case with the Capdase's easy access UMD bay. That would make it truly awesome.

But the features of the Black case are almost an instant sell to me. I might have to go pick that up. I remember seeing it at Best Buy but thinking it wasn't all that impressive.

Why dosn't anyone just throw their system in a playgear case and put it in their backpack or bag? Portable systems are less pocket friendly than they use to be, so either get something to carry the case around with the system or risk it and put a naked system in ur pocket... I have a hard time seeing something better than the PGP due to it's price and durability.

NO!! I GOT THIS CASE FROM BESTBUY LIKE BACK IN JANUARY AND THIS CASE SUCKS! IT SUCKS I TELL U! U CANT EVEN PLAY THE PSP WHILE ITS IN THE CASE!

Ok, so it isn't that bad, but I don't recommend it. For $20 I rather go with the PGP actually.

I wish there was a case that had an actual "window" the size of the PSP screen. I modded my PGP by cutting out the rubber bumper (so my daughter could safely watch videos on it), but it would be nice to have it in a smaller case.
What's wrong with it?
-You can't play your PSP while it's in the case
-The rubbers that cover the jacks on the bottom of the case are flimsy
-Outside shell feels like plastic
-Not worth $20
-Not recommended

I just received some cases from Capdase for review. I'll have a review up soon and it is for sale. I have two, one white and the other is black.

I was thinking about getting the Madcatz Stealth case from Gamestop. I heard it was even better than the PGP. Anybody have it?

Aww fuck it I checked out the Madcatz Stealth case today at Gamestop and it looks cheap. The outside shell looks like it's made of plastic big time. I think I'm going to stick with my PGP.

what does that even mean, isnt the playgear pocket made out of plastic as well? clear plastic.

Its made of a certain type of plastic. Polycarbonate.
yes, still plastic, so saying something is made out of plastic as a bad thing makes no sense.
There are different types of plastic. You have cheap plastic that can crack and break easily and you have those that is not as cheap and either cant be cracked by human force or is very durable.

You realize its not designed to be played in that case. but to let you see what MP3 is playing, right?

What iazybandit said

The Madcatz Stealth case looks like its made out of the cheap kind of plastic. It looks like that to me but I'm not sure if it is. Somebody who has it can prove me wrong though.

I know that, which also means that without a case while you're playing the PSP is not protected

Thanks Rolento, I was going to ask something along these lines except specifically does anyone know of a case that's meant to carry your PSP WITH PGP since it's hard plastic and I'm most comfortable using this as a glare guard and general system protector.

Good idea, man. Was it pretty easy to get the plastic piece out after cutting it?

Grave, I didn't cut the plastic at all, just the rubber inner liner. There was a Logitech logo I had to take off with acetone, but the case is still intact. It was kind of a pain to figure out exactly where the "window" had to go. I would suggest cutting ever-larger rectangles and checking your progress until it's perfect.

Yeah, I meant to say the rubber liner. Thanks for the tip, man. I think I'm gonna try this in the next couple days.

What did you use to cut the rubber? I'm thinking a razor blade should be able to make a pretty clean cut.

I used an X-acto knife, same difference. Make sure you can take off the Logitech logo first. A friend said his wouldn't come off even with acetone. Make a cardstock template of the PSP screen, so you know exact dimensions. The hardest part is getting the "window" to be lined up perfectly with the PSP screen, which is why I suggest making several rectangular cuts of increasing dimensions. Slow and steady, etc.

i have a psp case that holds 8-10 umds, 4-6 memsticks, and 1 psp, and its so god damn light, and fits in my pocket

You know, I can't fit my PSP in my pocket. I can't fit 4 UMDs in my pocket.

Therefore I am most interested in this space-time continuum warping bag-of-holding case you speak of.
