Caught part of this and the very end of Raw. Loved the comment Regal said about Jillan's singing being a abortion. WTF was with Foley being a judge?

Reading the results has me asking one thing, where was Shane?
That game was awesome, I remember being so stoked back in the day when Raine could finally emulate Wrestlefest. Jake Roberts and Mr. Perfect were my team.
I used to prefer using the team of DiBiase and Jake The Snake, since I'd do repeated power slams and DDTs on my opponents just to toy with them before slapping on the Million Dollar Dream and finishing the match.

Best WWF game of that same era on the home consoles though(imo) had to be WWF Royal Rumble for Genesis. I'd enter the Rumble @ #1 and win it all, since I used the same method to eliminate everyone. The method? Hiptoss over the top rope after flinging my opponent into the ropes on the opposite side of the ring.

I had the SNES Royal Rumble. My friend and I would cooperate and see how fast we could win the Rumble. Our record was very quick as he (as Shawn Michaels) would stand on one side of the ring while I (Ric Flair woo!) stood on the other. As the guys entered he'd whip them to me while I'd hiptoss them out my side of the ring. Finally, after everyone was gone, he'd run at me and I'd toss him out to finish the match.

I wish I still had our times written down but that paper vanished probably well over ten years ago. I think our best was something like 1:17 but I'm not positive.

Same method here, never fails. It was a lot quicker than wearing your opponent down and then throwing him over. the only thing thatsucked about that game was the 2 player grapple mode. No one ever won lol, the grapples could go on forever in theory, or until someones fingers got tired and said shaq fu it.

My local fox station did a piece on Brian Adams.

They compared him to Chris Benoit (first Chris Benoit and now wrestling fans mourn the second loss in two months Brian "Crush" Adams), made it sound like he was still with the WWE until the very end of the piece (Crush last worked for WWF back in 2001), and interviewed "WWE superstar" Vito

I used to use the Gameshark glitch to get Wrath in WcW vs nWo revenge.. and created KroniK... held the tag team belts for a while.. btw No Mercy is the best Wrestling game on the consoles ever...

The producer at your local fox station needs to be Danza Slapped.

I have to say the Pacman story is getting tons of airtime over at ESPN. They're mostly having a laugh at his expense, but it is getting them a great deal of publicity that they desire. I still think it's silly, and the next two weeks of spoilers make the program look totally forgettable, but it may work for them. A small decline in ratings one week into the Pacman angle is an indicator of nothing, IMO. You can't claim smart marks are tuning out TNA; one thing I firmly believe is that smart marks will consistently watch it, no matter how bad it is.

I am guilty as charged on still tuning in. Even if I think this is one bonefide dumb idea that has Vince Russo's fingerprints all over it (even tho its JJ himself who did this).

I don't mean TNA. I mean *wrestling* in general. We can all be found close to our TVs on Monday nights, too.

*rimshot*

Okay to be serious the last time I watched RAW in full was the Chris Benoit tribute show. I haven't bothered to tune in since. Mostly because the current product does nothing for me.

TNA isn't much better tho. I'm debating about even watching this week since going by the spoilers the next two weeks look weak (plus no MLS game on ESPN 2 doesn't help). This weak product is not the thing TNA needs to be putting out there right now.

Oh well...... I can bitch all I want but it won't change a damn thing.

i completely agree. the last time i watched a full episode of RAW was back when DX was around. ever since then everything has just looked so predictable and fake to me. i mean, orton can end anyone's career with a single knee to the head... whats up with that?

i haven't even watched smackdown in at least two years. about the only thing that'll still hold my interest is ECW. they haven't really been too predictable for me at least, but admitedly that could be because they don't even know where they're going with this stuff half the time if you ask me.

I haven't watched WWE in over a month... but I've kept up with TNA despite the recent decline in quality. :\

I have a feeling that we are going to see a major change in creative once they get that two hour deal secured rather if its with Spike TV or Fox. Seems like every time TNA has something major like this happen is when we see a change in who's in charge of booking/creative.

Am I the only one that thinks No Surrender will be a absolute disaster?

Only because
Angle has to defend all 3 TNA titles on the same night
. I bet that some of the unused talent on the roster is getting tired of the crap.

No.
My guess is it works 1 of 2 ways... he takes a count out in the tag match, get DQed in the X division match, and then retains the World Title. Or they make him Superman and he wins every match. I like Angle, I do, But this booking is fucked and we all know it. Angle either looks like a genius in keeping all the gold or he looks like God. I don't think he'll "lay down" for anyone or why did he keep it all in the 1st place... then again this is TNA booking..

Wednesday WO site news update - http://www.wrestlingobserver.com/wo/news/headlines/default.asp?aID=20455

www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/fayette/stories/2007/08/14/ has a piece on the fight over the Benoit estate, Brian Adams' death was the lead story on Yahoo news yesterday and was mentioned on KISS' site as well. Angle is trying to broker a deal to get Lesnar into TNA - Dixie and Brock have been in talks. Jerry Lynn, Matt Bentley, Brother Runt, the Damaja, and Doug Basham have been release by TNA, although Bentley will be used on a per-appearance deal.

.....

Runt and Bentley have been non-factors for a long time, and I'm sad that Doug's gone, as he's incredibly talented and could have been a good teacher for the wrestlers there, if not a top-level tag team talent. I'd expect more cuts to be forthcoming since they've got to trim even more fat to pay for Jones' contract, and if they want Lesnar, they'll have to let even more guys go.

Brock coming in wouldn't surprise me - if he's willing to do an IGF show in Japan for Kurt, he's probably willing to fly to Orlando once every two weeks for him. He's not what he once was in the ring, but he's still fairly good, and TNA's light travel schedule would be perfect for him, as WWE's heavy one drove him nuts.

TNA definitely does need to cut guys, as their roster is unbelievably bloated and under-used given that they only have a one hour show to really showcase them, but I think they're cutting the wrong folks here. Not so much with Bentley (a virtual non-factor for a long time) and Hyson, who did nothing in TNA, and did nothing on the indy scene before it, but I think they're making a mistake with Lynn and Basham, as they're each very good worker who could actually teach the wrestlers how to incorporate more psychology into their matches. In Lynn's case, he was an expert at carrying an average worker to a great match and I hope TNA just nixed his wrestling contract and not his road agent one, as he's been shown to be a fantastic teacher to the wrestlers.

I'd expect So Cal Val to be an upcoming release, as she does absolutely nothing for TNA other than give them knockout photos for their site and provide upskirt camera shots every now and then. Johnny Devine's another guy who's doing nothing, so I could see him being fired soon. Petey's a similar situation, although maybe they'll be okay due to their past with D'Amore. Roxy's someone who they should fire, and the fact that she presently has a job with TNA while Jerry Lynn and Doug Basham don't is incredibly bothersome.
No.

That would not be possible. In TNA, titles change hands by disqualification and countout.

I wouldn't cut Roxy honestly. She's just been given a really bad gimmick. At least take her off of TV for a bit and give her a new gimmick that doesn't suck.

If I were to cut people from TNA I would cut BJ and Kip James and Bob Backlund. Then fix things with Konnan, take care of Sonjay Dutt's issues, etc. And drop this Pacman Jones shit ASAP. Use that money towards bringing in fresh talent for the X Division and make it a FOCAS point when TNA goes two hours. I would especially start raiding ROH for talent like Bryan Danielson, the Briscoes, etc. And I certainly would NOT (repeat NOT) give them any Russo like gimmick.

God.... maybe I need to walk right into TNA HQ and tell them all this. Along with bringing in Myke to have him help book. We'd make TNA far better (and far more popular) in a hurry that is for sure.

i agree with your synopsis Demo...although at this point I'm not sure about Konnan...I'd personally like to see more X division guys.. hell even some more of the former AMW...

Even though I secretly call Senshi "The Bore-ior" (I like his ring work, but there's something about him that I don't like), I have to say that the double-stomp spot he did at Hard Justice was hot fiya.
Speaking of guys doing nothing, why is Kevin Nash still there?
hes the comic relief..and no.. they better not cut him..

angle and nash tag team champs ftw

wtf..

so they released basham already? and bentley

CWE Commissioner J. Jody Jenkins is proud to announce that CWE has won a 13 month battle with World Wrestling Entertainment to retain the Ontario Championship. WWE Superstar, Robbie McAllister was last to hold the Ontario Championship before he was signed by World Wrestling Entertainment. While WWE wished to incorporate the title into their weekly television broadcast of “Monday Night Raw,” the CWE board of directors fought to keep the Ontario Championship within a CWE ring. Late Tuesday evening, CWEAction.com learned that the Ontario Championship has been successfully shipped home to the CWE Offices. Commissioner Jenkins has confirmed that a new Ontario Champion will be crowned at CWE Boiling Point on August 25. The vacant title will be suspended over 20 feet above the ring in one of wrestling’s most dangerous matches, The Ladder Match.

Today, the wait is a bit easier. THQ has announced the next seven superstars for this year's game: Elijah Burke, Carlito, CM Punk, the Innovator of Violence Tommy Dreamer, the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels, the Nature Boy Ric Flair and Mr. Kennedy … Kennedy!

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Suspended Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones is not expected to play in the NFL this season, so he keeps looking for new ways to stay busy.

First there was wrestling, now it's hip-hop.
His National Street League Records, based in Atlanta, announced Wednesday that Jones will team with producer Spoaty in a duo called Posterboyz with their first single "Let it Shine" being released Aug. 27. The song talks about big money, cars and jewelry.
This latest venture might cause more problems for Jones with the National Football League. Officials are looking into whether or not the record label's name, National Street League Records, infringes on the league's trademark, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said.
Jones has been suspended from the NFL for the 2007 season for violating the league's personal conduct policy by being arrested six times. Police records for various incidents in Tennessee and Georgia show five different arrests for the former first-round draft pick.
His sixth arrest came in June when he was booked by Las Vegas police in the most serious case. He is under indictment there on two felony counts of coercion stemming from a February fight at a strip club that left a bouncer, a former wrestler himself, paralyzed. A felony obstruction of an officer charge was postponed until this fall in Georgia, and misdemeanor charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct were revived in July and postponed until January.

Jones also has signed a contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and debuted in a pay-per-view last weekend under a temporary injunction negotiated between the team, TNA and Jones' attorneys to limit his chances of physical injury.

I forgot about the DQ rule, but seriously... count out?
change it to wins by countout and looses the tag tiles by dq
Jesus Christ... win a title by countout... that's stupid.. every match should just be a damned foot race to beat the count.

They fired Lynn huh? I guess a Lynn/RVD rematch isn't looking too bright right now... Don't really give a damn about the rest of the firings, but I do agree with the rest of you guys. They hire Pacman but let all these guys go? Stupid... I can only hope Petey stays... and VKM disappears without notice.

/me waits patiently for either an RVD or Y2J debut.

CM Punk, Dreamer and Elijah Burke. AWESOME. Have Cryme Tyme been confirmed?

Hey guys. Been watching last couple WWE shows. Luckily my little brother is keeping me updated on the WWE scene. I've also been getting into Dragon Gate wrestling in Japan. The high flying wrestling and technicality is what I love.

As for wrestling games, I've dabbled in some of the Fire Pro wrestling series but I definitely love wcw vs nwo series for n64.

That Kennedy... And I'd love to see the result between Triple H and King Booker. I'd cheer for Booker if he was Booker T. but alas...

edit: btw, at the end of RAW, when John Cena jumped rediculously far from the other corner to tag... Was there some confusion whether or not Umaga was tagged or not? After, I just saw Randy Orton run across to punch Umaga who looked as if he wasn't even fazed. Then RO turns around for no reason then Umaga jumps in and rapes them. What the heck happened? Was it a botch?

One of the released TNA wrestlers has already commented on the fuck ups at TNA.

Matt Bentley, who's TNA deal expires on 8/20, ripped on the company while appearing on last night's Between the Ropes radio show in Florida.

Bentley described the morale of the TNA roster as poor, saying there are performers upset that they work hard only to have former WWE stars brought into the company and leapfrogging them for a larger spot on the roster. He commented that names that are "supposed to be big stars" are brought in but then the ratings never rise. Bentley described TNA as a place that used to be fun to work, but now it's changed and instead of being able to go out and work hard in the ring, wrestlers have to deal with gaga segments and things of that nature.

When the Congressional letter to several wrestling companies was brought up, Bentley said that he was never drug tested by TNA nor has any other wrestler that he knows of working for the company.

When TNA creative team member Dutch Mantel came up, Bentley blamed him for the Serotonin gimmick not taking off, saying Mantel hated it and wanted nothing to do with it. "That guy needs to be fired. The only way to kick Jeff in the a** is to kick Dutch in the back of the head."

Bentley was also vocally upset about the fact that TNA just informed him he was finished instead of thanking him for his tenure with the company and wishing him well.

They never tested for drugs? That's not going to go well if they report that to congress.
