Big Daddy Cool's wrestling topic
CM Punk, Dreamer and Elijah Burke. AWESOME. Have Cryme Tyme been confirmed?
doubtful but who knows.. usually some tag teams are always missing from the games

I have a feeling that London and Kendrick will not be in the game. Between those two, as well as Nunzio, who else has been with WWE for *years* yet never made it into a WWE video game?

Ever since Jeff Hardy showed up on TNA, I felt like WWE guys were getting overpushed simply because they were WWE guys.

Seeing AJ Styles running around as Christian's lapdog isn't really helping the situation either.

I have no problem with Christian, he's awesome on the mic, he's great in the ring but what did AJ Styles do to get pushed so far down the card? I mean, he's half the reason I still watch wrestling (after randomly buying some TNA DVDs back in 2005).

London was in SvR 2006.

Thanks for the clarification harry.
Ever since Jeff Hardy showed up on TNA, I felt like WWE guys were getting overpushed simply because they were WWE guys.
I agree with that resentment, simply because every WWE guy gets pushed to the midcard or higher. Tomko, Punisher, VKM, Dudleys, Christian, Black Reign, etc. Some of those guys shouldn't be hired at all (VKM, Reign), while others show why they belong in that spot (Christian, Dudleys). Tomko is a good character and a capable wrestler - he's expendable, sure, but his interaction w/ Christian is great. Punisher hasn't shown me anything yet, and it's too early to declare Matt Morgan or Punisher to be overpushed.

Now, Angle and Lesnar (if that happens) are no-brainers. Angle is where he belongs, while Lesnar, if he comes, belongs at the top.

Now, with the exception of VKM, the WWE guys TNA brings in aren't nobodies. Morgan and Tomko are young and fairly unestablished. It's fair to say, IMO, that neither did much in WWE to be recognized as "WWE guys." They do benefit, OTOH, from their size and build, of course.

Matt Bentley may have room to complain, but you know what? Matt Bentley sucks. He's a poor man's Shawn Michaels in the ring (and that's not a compliment - you put a fat man in a Captain America suit, he's a dickbag, not a weak Cap), he's had 1-2 memorable matches in 5 years' worth of TNA, and he's just a bitter crybaby who will never amount to shit, since the one promotion that would give him the time of day let him go.

Now, if, say, Joe was let go and said the same thing, or Sabin/Shelly, that would be a different story. Matt Betley fails to realize that he never mattered at all, so that's why he never got a shot.

All that said, TNA isn't perfect and its talent isn't perfect. I just read a letter from Bill Behrens to the NWA legends conference attendees, apologizing for the behavior of AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and Christian Cage. Evidently they were snobbish assholes to almost everyone in attendance. I like TNA, but you know what? There's nothing to be braggadocios about if all you are is a wrestler in a promotion that can't sell 10,000 PPV buys or increase ratings beyond a 1.0.

guess it would be wishful thiking to want deuce and domino in the game.. i know that wont happen..

gotta hope for thorn and ballz

maybe even mike knox

Agreed 100%. Although the show is still is still fairly enjoyable.. compared to WWE at least, it just isn't what it once was. I don't have a problem with the roster or the spirit, it's the booking/direction that's really been pissing me off lately.

They need to bury some WWE guys just for the hell of it. Yeah Christian and Angle was awesome, but they're pretty much the only ones from WWE that deserve to hang onto the ball. I'd say have AJ go over Christian in (slightly old) teenage rebel fashion and have Joe bury Angle like he was part of the JOB squad... yeah that's the ticket. The only way to bring legitimacy to TNA is to feed off of the current talent's credibility. I thought that was the plan all along.. I thought that was the whole REASON for bringing in WWE guys... but it hasn't happened... instead TNA guys are getting fired. :\ ridiculous

I guess my frustration stems from the fact that, unlike WCW in the mid-late 90's. TNA has shown that it can build it's own talent. AMW, Triple X, Amazing Red (before he got hurt), AJ Styles, Abyss, Petey Williams and to a lesser degree, Samoa Joe are more or less, TNA guys. Yes, they generally wrestled other places for at least a little while but they really came into their own within TNA before the exodus of old WCW/WWE wrestlers.

Looking at say, 1996 WCW, all their main guys were either NWA-grown back in the 80's (Sting, Flair, etc.) or WWE veterans (Nash, Hall, Hogan, etc.). Because of WCW's inability to create their own talent during that time period (Glacier, Mortis, etc.), I had no real issues with incoming WWE guys main-eventing with or even above WCW wrestlers.

That being said, watching a short match between Abyss and Tomko (for example) in TNA is still infinitely more entertaining that watching Vince try and figure out who his bastard child is.
They need to bury some WWE guys just for the hell of it.
I agree with that. Heck, look at Sting lately. For the first few months of 2007, he did nothing but job to Abyss. At least he knows when it's time to bow out and make the next batch of wrestlers look good.

Some of the WWE guys need to realize their time in the spotlight is up and need to make the homegrown talent look good. That's eventually what caused WCW's downfall.

I hope AJ Styles gets hired by WWE and becomes HUGE. Him and Daniels. Sick of them getting treated like shit when they were THE top draws of TNA for a while.

I got an idea for TNA...

Split the roster into 2 big factions. The "TNA Originals" and the "New Breed" (WWE guys). Make both factions legitimate while portraying TNA as underdogs and WWE as rich big shots who are overly catered to, which is somewhat on par with the truth right? Have a few cross-over guys. Since AJ is with Team Christian, keep him there... he can be "too good" for the TNA team. Since Sting is a face and was never in WWE keep him in TNA, he can act as co-team captain with Joe and be somewhat of a mentor to him and the team. Meanwhile, you'd have Christian and Angle as co-team captains... Since Angle is champ he can be an arrogant yet non-chalant only-care-about-myself kind of captain while Christian would be the type to despise everything TNA stands for and want nothing more to destroy it. This can be a super long storyline.. spanning AT LEAST half a year. Along the way, have a few surprise jumps... Maybe have Sting abandon his team and strike a bad blow to team TNA's morale. In the end, it can culminate either in a big superstar debut that eventually turns the tide for team TNA and gets them "the big win" OR... have a big face turn. Like... have some sort of Survivor Series type of championship match where it ends up being Christan and Angle against Joe... have Joe about to win the belt when Christian heads to break the submission when out of nowhere AJ runs out, giveis Christian a Styles Clash and allows Joe to FINALLY win the belt and the war for team TNA.

What do you think?

No, no, no.

This angle has never worked. Not when it was the "Millonaire's Club Vs New Blood" or "WWE Vs The Alliance" or "ECW Originals Vs The New Breed"
No, no, no.

:(
I hope this is the year we finally start seeing roster updates and maybe some other DLC.
I'll settle for custom entrance themes. Is that too much to fuckin' ask for?

Or Demolition and/or Razor Ramon as unlockable legends. Day 1 purchase if that comes true.

Or when it was called the NWO.

That's actually the one time the whole "one big faction vs. another" did work. nWo vs. WCW was a huge draw initially. The issues came when it dragged on for years and mutated into nWo Wolfpac vs. nWo Hogan vs. WCW vs. whatever.

I can't believe I didn't mention this: The Missing Link passed away today at 68 years old. An absolute master of kayfabe, despite having a largely unbelievable character.

I'm excited for the NYC ROH show. The card is stacked from top to bottom.

ROH World Heavyweight Championship Match
"American Dragon" Bryan Danielson v. Takeshi Morishima

ROH World Tag Team Championship Match
The Briscoe Borthers vs. Kevin Steen and El Generico

Battle Of Generation Next Founding Fathers
Austin Aries vs. Roderick Strong vs. Jack Evans

Special Challenge Match
Davey Richards vs. PAC

Tag Team Attraction
Matt Cross & Erick Stevens vs. Mike Quackenbush & Jigsaw

They're going to add more matches but man is this going to be awesome!

The Missing Link trained Mike Sharpe and current WWE star, Val Venis. He also had a bio book put out last year. AAO '06 for $6 is a good deal, and is somewhat tempting since the visual of Christian winning the belt with the fans around him is awesome.

Damn that sucks. Any update on Brian Adam's death? We a go on me doing an Adams memorial topic next?

Uh oh...

World Wrestling Entertainment's stock (NASDAQ:WWE) closed at $13.89 yesterday, the lowest it has closed since November 2005. The stock closed at $14.06 on Tuesday.

If it goes any lower, I might be tempted to buy, as lord knows WWE isn't going anywhere and they will eventually hit another spike in the ratings, even if it's not until freakin' Cena retires.

another angle for Angle could be that he has to defend every belt in one night...that way he loses the belts and looks good doing it...

Can anyone tell me what I missed in the first 8 minutes, before Truth confronted Pac-Man?

How to make a heel in TNA:

Have him beat up Eric Young.

Anyone else hyped for the December 11th release of Fire Pro Wrestling Returns? Of course, I'm getting Smackdown, but IGN is hinting it MAY end up being $20, so it may be a merry christmas after all :D

A PS2 release of a niche title by Agetec? Yep, all signs point to $20.

Looks like Triple X is already irrelevant in TNA. I don't mind that not everybody is pushed to the moon at the same time, but this back-and-forth is too much. Black Machismo was white hot for a minute, won the X title, lost it the next night, and has been a nobody since then. Now, two months later, it looks like he'll be the X title contender against Angle. Too much up-and-down for my liking. There has to be a nice middle-ground between TNA up-and-down and WWE push-em-to-the-moon-no-matter-what-the-crowd-says attitudes.

Also, I know TNA wrestlers can't sell for shit, but to have AJ Styles show up on TNA as if he wasn't slammed through plate glass, and to have Pacman walk out unscathed after being "laid out" at the PPV is just fuckin' 10,000 leagues under the fuckin' STUPID.

I looked at my clock at 7:59 PM but just didn't feel like turning the TV on. Instead I spent the past hour watching various clips of really dumb things on YouTube. I think I got the better end of the deal compared to the current state of TNA.

Yeah.... DemoMan dissing TNA.... now you HAVE seen it all.

very good impact imo

loved the match between lethal and daniels - wasn't predictable and a good finish if you ask me (same goes with the abyss/cage match)

unlike raw, this show had me entertained just about the whole way through

Yeah I thought it was decent too... Only two matches but both were pretty good. A few dumb segments here and there... oh well. :\

Hilarious ROH video wire! Man they're treating Bobby Dempsey like utter shit.
He's probably thrilled to death that people know his name now, so they'll stop with the "Maestro" chants.
Either that or they'll increase the "Maestro" chants tenfold.

yea...the whole "team pacman" thing wasn't doing it for me

and how did they manage to get that tag title shot again - by threatening cornette (the man who could supposedly fire them?) haha

could be a spoiler?
next week i predict angle wins over the steiners (pin on rick most likely) with help of team 3d (these guys are awful as heels though..:whistle2:# ) and then everyone gunning after angle's titles comes after him to end the show

Reading the spoilers, that's exactly what will happen. Team 3D cost the Steiner Brothers the match and Angle pin Rick.

Also want to mention that since Raw's ratings have been in the toilet since Wrestlemania, USA is pretty much giving up the idea of giving them another hour for the show.

On the other side of things, TNA is in talks w/ SpikeTV about Impact becoming two hours. Since the ratings have been better than usual, it's improving the idea of a two hour show. Nothing new about their talks w/ Fox about moving Impact there.

The Hulkster's Bling Burgled!

0817_hulk_hogan_bn.jpg
TMZ has learned that Hulk Hogan's Miami Beach home was robbed of a reported $100,000 worth of jewelry just last night. Damn!

The Hulkster and his family were in the process of moving out of their home, when the jewelry was reportedly taken from right under their nose. Some of the pricey gems that have gone missing include a diamond-encrusted watch and two gold chains.

Sources close to the Hogans tell TMZ that the family was in the middle of moving to a new Hulk-palace when they discovered that the jewelry was gone.

Vito appeared on the most recend edition of BWR Online and revealed that he has been dating actress Marissa Tomei. Tomei can be seen in the new movie Wild Hogs. Check out the full interview at bwronline.net.

:whistle2:k I thought Vito liked guys. I was expecting him to be dating Urkel.
Would it be

A. Wrong
B. Hilarious

To have Cryme Time come out on Monday auctioning off Hogan merchandise?
I'd go with B. Yeah, it might not be funny to Hogan, but people read about will get a kick out of it. Plus the fucker needs knocked down a peg with his "I gotta win the match" creative control clause.
