CAGiversary!

This was originally posted by averageguy, and then a mod added it to the 50% off YMMV thread for FYE. However this appears to be a national sale! Two stores in the phoenix area that were not clearing out their new games had this price. Many other CAGs all say their FYEs also have this price... so it doesn't appear to be YMMV and is not associated with the store-wide clearance sales happening at only a handful of stores.

UPDATE: Apparently Sam Goody has the same sale price.

The UPC is 710425299636, used copies will ring up for $49.99 because they have a different UPC.

CardShark4Life reports that the sale is valid through March.

Bioshock 19.99 Fye YMMv xbox 360
Just got back from the Fye Superstore and noticed they had Bioshock for 19.99 straight out the door with no MIR

This was in the Hamburg, NY location
I've made the following thread for the sole purpose of organizing the effort to pair up buyers and sellers for New FYE BioShock copies (hopefully, a total not for profit effort). Help your fellow CAGs, and check it out.

I just noticed that Gamerush/Blockbuster had their used copies of Bioshock marked down to $34.99 and also Gamestop/Ebgames has it used for $32 after the coupon this week and EDGE.

Just another option for cags who couldn't score on the deal.
how much can you trade it in for at BB/GR?
Well since its now $34.99 used I wouldn't image it trades in for more than $18-22.
Considering the lack of availability of this deal to many CAGs, we should organize this thread a bit to help disperse surplus copies to CAGs who cannot find their own.

As such, we need those who can to buy extra copies, and to be paired up with those who are guaranteed to buy them, so that there isn't anyone stuck with an extra copy.

OP, if possible, please start taking the names of those willing to get extra copies, and pair them up with those who still need them.

I, for one, still need a copy. I'd make a new thread in the XBox 360 Forum to address this.

Thanks man. I added it to the OP. I've been camping all weekend. I may have a couple to trade/sell to CAGs too hopefully. If they kept them on hold for me. ;)

it's funny that the flyer on the counter says that they give $25 store credit for this game they're selling for $20. theoretically you could buy the game for $20 and turn around and ask for $25 store credit, then buy the same game for $20 and repeat over and over making $5 store credit each time. you'd have to a worthless a-hole to try this though
nice. Will most places do a PM via receipt? I have a receipt if someone wanted to PM I could like.. take a digital pic of it. hah
This would only be useful to CAGs in your area. Probably not worth the effort cause ymmv on the pm of a receipt.

I see, figured.. ah well good luck to all of you.

oh, has anyone seriously tried to RING UP a used copy? I was told in a phone call that it was 17.99 for the used one and 19.99 new and took their word for it. Then when I go to check it out, sticker said 49.99 but I didn't bother to double check.

If anyone in the Cincinnati, OH is interested I could scan my receipt for Bioshock and you could try to PM at Tri-county or Eastgate Best Buys, Sears, or Circuit City.

if anyone could do this for one in illinois that would be amazing.
and do you guys know if price matching works out of state?

Dunno if its 17.99, but it would at LEAST be 24.99 because its half off, which honestly, still makes it worth it.

I seriously doubt there's very many left out there new.

I cannot locate a copy within a hour of me. I am willing to offer $30 for a copy or CML. Halo 3 (sealed) for Bioshock (sealed)?

Still going on, however when I went the only displayed copies were used. When I asked they went behind the counter and had a stack of about 10 new there. So if they aren't being displayed they might have them behind the counter .... just ask.
Wow - that was fast. Did someone offer one for you?
No someone had pmed me yesterday and he replied but in hotmail it showed up in junk mail so I didn't know he replied at the time.

Let me ask a question, if you're receiving a payment through payment that someone sent from their checking account is there still fees? I was under the understanding it was only for credit cards. I sent him $30 through my checking account but he said there was still fees and I think he wants more money.

I have 1 (possibly 2) copies to trade. Anyone want to part with one of the following new or used for a sealed copy of bioshock?:

In order of preference:
Call of Duty 4
Orange Box
GHIII
VF5
^^ I think we are all well aware of that.
I know, I just delete the old post and push this one to the last page so anyone new can see it and get in on it.

I am royally pissed, I go to FYE today and noticed that there are sealed copies of Bioshock with the used sticker on them at $50. I mentioned it to the manager and he basically told me too bad.

Anyone in the Cleveland/Akron area willing to help out a fellow CAG?

Too bad what? You can't get it for $19.99 or that its not on sale at all? It should still be $24.99 anyway.

I bought a Crackdown that was marked used and had the shrink wrap removed, but when I removed their plastic wrapping, it still had the side sticker seal intact.

Seriously, $24.99 for a copy of Bioshock that probably hadn't been played anyway isn't a bad deal...
I don't know where Bioshock is $24.99, but in the Cleveland area, BioShock is selling for $49.99 used at the local FYE stores.
Well it'd be $24.99 after the 50% at FYE...

Btw, what store did you try? It's my understanding that most of the local Cleveland/Akron stores are out of stock. Richmond Heights FYE had it a few days ago according to another poster, but that's probably changed by now. I personally checked Parmatown and South Park Mall, but they were OOS.
Well it'd be $24.99 after the 50% at FYE...
Ah. There's the catch. Not every FYE has them new/used at 50% off yet. I can only think of one near me, and they don't have Bioshock.

That may be, but i've seen a few people complain that they couldn't get the used ones for $19.99. I understand everyone wants the $20 deal but $25 isn't bad either. I'd certainly pay it.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't a 50% used games at my store.
i'm sure that's what you heard, but he probably said something along the lines of there's nothing he can do about it. if it's labeled as used, it's used. in most cases, you benefit from buying new games marked as used - so don't complain when it goes in their favor this one time. spend the extra $5 and buy it "used" when it's really new, what's the big deal?
I'm pretty sure it wasn't a 50% used games at my store.
You're pretty sure? So you didn't ask?

First thing I did was ask.

Update: Just called and they said only NEW games are 50% off, I went through them and they all sucked. So it still remains, they took all the good games and slapped on used stickers to mark the prices up.

But used games aren't 50% off here.

I got the last one at Parmatown on Friday. I was at work reading the topic and called my mom, she happened to be at the mall. She grabbed me the last one. Did you try the FYE at Pearl and Brookpark?

I'd call corporate on that one. That sounds like total bullshit to me.

Got the last one in BK, box was torn, but they stuck the price on it anyway so it was worthless to begin with. Game and case were in new condition.

Just too bad I have this backlog to get through first.

Oh, so YOU'RE the one to took it. {shakes fist}. I called them on Saturday. They only carry used games. No brand new games at all.

All the games had been picked over in Salisbury MD, but they had the 50% off all game stuff, so I picked up a 512MB memory Card for 25 bucks. And it includes Geometry Wars to, so I'm pretty happy with that. I'm not sure what to use the mem card for actually. I guess the most useful thing is to archive game saves for games that overwrite progress. Grrrrr. Hate that!

The game is on sale for $19.99 in new condition, not used. Used prices are still $49.99. That's the price I was quoted that I could pay by a kid working the checkout counter at my local FYE. I nicely told him no thanks.

Got 1 copy today in Springfield, MA in the Eastfield Mall FYE. It was the display copy so they had the disc and manual sealed behind the counter. $17.99 after the "Backstage Pass" discount program.

I also tried the East Longmeadow, MA (they were having the 50% off sale) and were CLEANED OUT of 360 stuff.

I picked this up today from my local FYE, only because I stumbled across this site. Game was marked $59.99 and they price checekd and said that price was correct. I told them I had read it online, but understood if they didn't participate in the promotion. Lo and behold they "checked with a manager" and the $19.99 price was correct. Not sure what their problem was, but thanks for the tip.

I don't want to get off topic here, but why the heck is a 512mb memory card retailing for $50 anyways? WTH? If a 20gb hard drive retails for $90 new and an 120gb retails for $180 new, that's just a plain rip off. Actually, they're all rip-offs since an external 500gb hard drive can be had for under $100 on a good sale.

But back to BioShock. Love to play it, but I can wait for the price to be right one of these days.
