Read about a lot of people on the Steam forums having major crashing issues, so you're not alone. I'll pick this up eventually, after a couple stability patches.

I did a full play through using Steam and experienced no issues. Most sessions lasted between 4-6 hours each and that was playing full screen 1080p Ultra settings.

No crashes here, but I've only played it once since picking it up. Got to the point where you're escorting Elizabeth on the beach, so I'm pretty sure that's over an hour in.

Great game so far, if nothing else for the atmosphere and visuals. I do feel like I'm just playing BioShock again though, so as far as innovation goes; there's really none other than the sky hook which is just brilliant. Makes the game feel stagnant with a fresh coat of paint, but the storytelling is top notch so I don't mind as much. Hopefully the ending isn't disappointing because I've seen the rumblings of such, or how it makes no sense. Only one way to find out. . .

No crashes either. Been playing for 1h30. Awesome game. Maxed settings 1080p on a 50'' Panasonic Viera at 60FPS is amazing.

beat the game once already and on my 1999 playthru about 2/3rds of the way though without a single crash or glitch.

I think its mostly people with Nvidia cards or outdated drivers having probs.

This is going to win GOTY easy.

steam says I have 22 hours played fwiw

Played through it once and it crashed around five times. GTX 670 with the latest drivers.

Despite the crashes, one of the best games I've played in a long time.

How long did it take you to crash? I'm also using a GTX670. Is yours an EVGA? Because if it is, you'd need the latest firmware update from their forums.

i doudt this game wins game of the year with games like last of us coming out and gta 5 and new games for new systems .this game will be nom for it but will not win it

Played through it with a gtx 660m on high settings and zero crashes or problems throughout.

I would be pretty disappointed if this ends up GOTY. I like it. I like the story, the music, and the production (though I think it needs to be played through twice because of the story) but I didn't particularly enjoy the game play.

Also the menus and subtitles were terrible. It showed all the vigors and such even if you didnt have them. Why? I dont have a clue how many Voxophones I had or from where or what was missing, and the subtitles/menus were small as shit. Ridiculous.

If this was their first try I could forgive it but not with a sequel for a game this big. Try harder.

Just finished it after 29 hours. Irrational's best game yet, and definitely one of the best games I've ever played. The game play itself isn't what drove this game, it was the amazing story. The game play was interesting and functional enough to push you through the game, and that was enough for me, because it was just all about the story.

Played it with a GTX 660 and all is well. Played at max, looked great, no crashes.

Is it just me or does it feel like FOV needs to be tweaked badly to pull back some? I'm not getting sick or anything like that, but when I zoom it's very hard to find targets sometimes that run to the side.

More I play this game, the more I like and don't like. I like that the game is starting to open up with some twitch mechanics and combos, but I'm growing tired of searching for loot in every corner of the game. I want upgrades, but the only way to get them is cash and at the same time you can find pieces of clothing for new abilities too. It's just a poor balance when I feel like I'm spending too much time seeking out loot and not enough actually playing.

I don't know about the amazing story thing. The relationship between Booker and Elizabeth is weak until the end, and the lack of antagonists was appalling. I kept waiting the find myself invested in the game like I was with the two prior entries in the series, and it did not happen.

That said, I am enjoying my second playthrough more than my first. Just got my third vigor, so I am still early in the game. I don't think I would ever consider this my GOTY, but I am starting to slide off my 7-7.5 assessment. I think I could call the game an 8 by the time I finish the game a second time.

As far as crashes go, I think I ran into one issue. For the most part I haven't had any real issues with the game. The game does seem to do a shit job of maintaining a consistent frame rate though. The benchmarking tool says I average over 100, but I have a low in the 20's. I hit that dip way too frequently, and it is annoying. This is after close to 14 hours. Running the game on 2 670's.
i have gtx 660 no crash at all and im about 3 hours in
It'll definitely get a few awards along the line. It's got the reputation and the reviews.

I bit the bullet yesterday and picked this up. I feel the exact same way. Rather than playing I'm just wandering around spamming the F key on every single box, barrel, crate, etc...

I also kind of hate the basic gameplay/shooting mechanics. For a game that is supposed to be really serious and story driven, the game playing like the most arcade shooter ever really doesn't do much for me.

I doubt I wind up finishing it.

What's hilarious is occasionally I'm interrupted in my lootwhoring by random spawns of enemies. For a second I'm like: get out of my way, I'm searching for loot you cocksuckers! Then I realize I should be glad to shoot something lol.

I just finished Bioshock Infinite, last night. Steam shows me at 18 hours of play (i like to wander around for loot). This was my first Bioshock and while I found the graphics and overall atmosphere to be impressive, something was missing. I don't think it was the story that may have let me down but the ease I found to not even worry about it (no choice?).
Maybe another run on harder difficulty in the future would change my mind but for now I'd say I had more fun playing Tomb Raider.
I don't recall a single problem running this at 2560x1440 by 670 FTW SLI (latest drivers).

Finished it on hard after ~14 hours. I feel like this would have been better suited as a movie heh. I unfortunately played this very piecemeal with days in between, so after the credits rolled I had to look up the ending breakdown. Once everything was spelled out, it made sense but there was a ton of stuff I never picked up on or just flat out missed because voxophones are an awful way to convey important information when you're playing an FPS lol. I feel a little cheated in that respect since I did try to stop and listen, but often I just tuned them out in the heat of a battle or was interrupted by Elizabeth talking over it. It's actually very good if you can make sense of it afterward, but there's honestly too much information going out at the end and if you weren't paying attention during the game it will all fly over your head like it did for me.

I still like the original bioshock more and while this game gets an A for story, the gameplay is nothing special and never quite won me over in terms of wanting to keep on playing. Man, this would have made such a great movie. . .

Preach Marcus. So glad I'm not alone in the exact same issues I had with this game, especially the mouse controls! I thought maybe I just hadn't spent enough tweaking them, but no: they're just bad. Great story/visual elements, mediocre gameplay.

I have to wonder if maybe they had been more heavy handed in making you explore other tonics, like they did at the start with using the shock one on the generators, would have benefited the game at all. I literally only used the possession one on vending machines for cash and the fire one as a grenade the entire game. It takes so much money to upgrade tonics that once you have one you like, there's really little reason to explore (read: spend lots of cash on upgrading) the other ones because why fix what ain't broke? So disappointing.

I watched that yesterday and was happy to see someone in the media finally come out and say something other than OMG GAMES SO AMAZIN. The combat stinks, period.

It'll be the best or one of the best games in 2013! I love its storyline, gameplay, climate, graphics, everything!

Probably not going to be game of the year though. There are a lot of people in the press that keep saying such great things about this game, it's sad that they never mention the actual game play though. I played through this on hard. I had an especially hard time with Elizabeth's mom when she came out as a ghost.

But like everyone else has said, the first Bioshock was quite superior in gameplay and I think that's what matters the most these days. Visuals are nice and pretty but there has to be equally great gameplay and sadly - this game didn't have that balance. A shame.

lol, the ghost part on hard took forever to kill. you just sit there behind a wall half of the time waiting to reload your gun.

the gameplay was pretty repetitive. it didn't help that you could only carry 2 guns at a time. it wasn't even worth upgrading those red colored guns (i forgot what they're called already). i also kind of missed how the weapons changed their looks when you upgraded them in the previous two games. :(
